2007: A Fan Festival

I just imagined that the Thursday event was signing in and getting your gobbiebag and nametag and all that. =o Though who knows?

That's pretty much what the registration half-day was last FanFest, anyways.

This year is so much bigger than the ToAU FF! The number of people I know personally from my server going this year is more than the total amount of people at my server table last time.

If you head in town, theres this place called Kung Pow Kitty. Kind of a Thai/general eastern place. Best goddamn chilicalamari ive ever had. Its donw on Hollywood blvd tho, but I recommend it.

Kung Pao Kitty is fucking terrible. I used to work a block away from it, and I'd routinely trick myself into forgetting how much it sucked and return - the food is bland, awful, and overpriced. Avoid at all costs.

The place is called "Kung Pao Kitty" and they can't even make satisfactory Kung Pao Chicken. It's /facepalm at it's finest.

It was so cold, too. At the time, I wasn't living in California, and the person I was staying with told me that it was usually t-shirt weather at that time of year so I didn't even bring a coat or sweatshirt. Fanfest was in a crowded, dark, musty TENT on the pier, and it was windy the whole time (and occasionally rainy!).

Of course, since FF is indoors this time, it's been quite warm and pleasant all week here.

As for AU Fan Festival... the only way that it would ever happen is if SE released a V8 Supercars game and FF tags along on it's coat-tails. Stupid AU gamers... $10 on my local EB only getting 2 copies of WoTG to supply all of Brisbane, yet have 10 containers full of Guitar Hero.

I have the same problem as 90% of the remaining AU player base. We bought either JP or US copies because at the time SE didn't have any intentions of the EU version.

As someone who's been to a great deal of conventions, yes, you should have photo ID, though it matters little where it came from. School ID, Work ID, Driver's Licence, whatever you wish to use.
