    Dynamis Qufim Questions

    1) Assuming one uses a melee Zerg strategy on the boss with CSS, is there any need to kill any of the NMs to weaken it?

    I was wondering if the Thunder Elemental or the Statue at Behemoth's Dominion was needed to prevent stun resists. The regen doesn't seem like it's that big of a trouble considering some strategies don't even suggest killing the Kraken that locks it.

    2) If not, then is there anything else to be done before fighting the boss other than getting subjobs unlocked?

    3) Any other helpful advice would be appreciated, I've read the walkthroughs but there's always some information that people forget to write up.

    We kill the Kraken and the Golem along with Ice, Water, Earth Elementals. Don't need to touch Thunder since I've never known stun to resist and BLMs won't be nuking Thunder on Gigas anyway (or they shouldn't be). After that stick a couple RDM/DRKs with CS stun on it then send in the DDs and it is dead in 30 secs. Easy. I've never wiped on this NM and it is definately imo less lame than Valk which can still suck even if the NMs are killed.

    In my shell's first couple Qufim attempts, we were low on time due to various factors (not being able to find the ?-marker, among other things), so we were forced to skip Suttung and go right to Antaeus. We were not able to zerg him fast enough in that situation, but then we don't have any KC DRK's etc.

    Now we have the zone down to a science and usually kill Antaeus with 10-15 minutes to spare. Keep at it, you'll get there quick with practice.

    We always kill Suttung as a matter of practice, and I've never fought him or Antaeus as anything other than BLM anyway, so I could easily be wrong here, but my understanding was that Suttung has (and Antaeus if Suttung isn't killed) a cap on physical damage per attack similar to the extremely evident cap on magic damage. If that's true I would think it would present problems for melee zerg as well if you don't kill Suttung; is this not the case?

    Do the elementals aggro?

    Which of the ??? for the subjob unlocking can be accessed without aggro (if done carefully of course) ?

    How many scouts do you send in first to unlock subjobs (I see on my quifm map a total of 5 ???) ?

    I read on another thread that the bats MUST be killed at times in order to make the pathway open for the scouts, is there any way to avoid this?

    They agg\link with other mobs

    2 scouts, I'm fairly certain you can outrun any mob with 12% shouldnt be a problem

    No need to avoid them they are some of the easiest mobs in the zone that can drop af2

    The elementals aggro to magic AND PROXIMITY in this zone. My LS learned this when we did Qufim the first time last month and tried to save the Ice Ele for last and instead it tossed a Blizzaga 3 as we ran past it to the Roc camp in the tunnel.

    The subjob markers are all over the place in this zone.. there's at least three of them within a single pull of the entrance point. The maps I've seen have anywhere from 5 to 12 markers though I've heard most groups get it after pulling one of the first groups of bats.

    The only NM my ls kills for the boss is the kraken, melee zerg can kill the boss easily if you swap bards. Ive seen a few stuns resist on this boss but nothing major to say going and killing the thunder ele is needed.

    My ls does > Pull North/south bats on enter, 2 scouts look for ??? (Sometimes 3), Proceed NW from start clearing the bats and heading west pulling the quadavs and clearing the path from here to the kraken > killing the water ele and the rest of the quadavs in the kraken's area then the kraken > then we move just south of the boss and have someone pull the ice ele to us while we rest up and prep for boss, melee's saving tp on the ice ele. Then we kill the boss and have 1hr 30 farming time for -1's.

    Only thing in this zone which causes issues is the damn sj ??? playing hide n go seek.
