Yes, the gameplay is sorta the same throughout the entire game, but giving you the option to explore and take whatever paths you want makes it really interesting, at least for me. And if you got the 360 version, try looking for flags and view points whenever you can.. getting the achievements while working on the main storyline will make the gameplay last a lot longer, and will sure as hell make it worth your 60 bucks.
The game is repetitive. SSBB won't be repetitive because after 7 years of Smash Bros I don't remember two matches or games that were exactly the same. Will you be able to put over 4000 hours of gameplay into Creed? No, so I wouldn't even try to compare it to a game like that.

Mario is repetitive, except for the one exclusion of possibly Sunshine, every game has been good and kept your interest for 40+ hours.

Sex is repetitive, but it feels good, thats why people continue to do it as much as they do.

Creed is repetitive, doesn't hold your interest very well except for the pretty graphics (which I stopped caring about a long time ago), and is a 10 hour game, and probably the biggest letdown of a game in recent years.

For a game as hyped as it was, this was a extreme let down, and yes I will tag this as repetitive because its a 60 dollar game you can beat in 10 hours or less 10 hour games should not be repetitive, its not worth it IN MY OPINION. If labeling me as a fanboy or what not will make you feel better about it, go for it.

As MMORPG players, I'd like to think people would understand the difference between repetitive tasks you enjoy, and repetitive tasks you DON'T in video games - it's not necessarily always a bad thing.

I don't think the reviewers would be complaining about repetitiveness in AC if it was enjoyable.

    Re: Assassin's Creed

Can't really call you a 'fanboy' per say SB , But yeah I agree, however i'm not going straight for the storyline and would rather look for all the citizens that need to be saved, and getting all the information down, as well as looking around for the flags and killing those annoying templars... this way at least I keep the game fresh for me, and I'll probably end up dragging it for way longer than those 10 hours.

But that's just the way I do it, because I like getting the achievements heh.. to each his own I guess but I have to agree, this game is probably one of the biggest 5 letdowns in history of gaming because it had all this potential and hype that went unused (or misused, whichever you see fit..).. I'm on my 2nd assassination right now and it seems like it's exactly the same as the first, and from what I understand all 9 are exactly identical so it's pretty frustrating but hey, i'll get my 60 bucks' worth out of it. If anything, this and Galaxy should last me until next week when Mass Effect comes out.

EDIT: And you enjoy camping Fafnir for 3 hours every day? lol... I remember doing that, took me over a year to get a Ridill, I woldn't call it fun..

I think it's safe to say that if you don't enjoy all the collectible/sidequest aspects of Assassin's Creed then jumping from one assassination to the next will make the game feel repetitive. At least that's my interpretation of it..

I've been avoid this thread due to any potential spoilers so I have no idea if this has been asked before, but...

If you've seen most of the commercials for Assassin's Creed, there's one where they play the theme to House.

Anyone know what song that is? I want it.

A lot of games can be really good or really bad depending on personal preference. That's why we have renting and borrowing. And piracy.

    Re: Assassin's Creed

I bought the game and I love it. Honestly, the missions do get repetitive, but if you go out of your way and just enjoy hoping from building to building or planning how to kill Guards in different ways, this game is alot of fun. One of my favorite things is alerting a group of guards and then fighting them all. There's so many ways to make this game more enjoyable aside from the main storyline.

Does anyone have any trouble with the combo kills? It says push X right as you make contact but sometimes it just doesn't work. What's up?
