    Re: Assassin's Creed

You can't climb everything... you need a ledge/something to hang onto in order to keep climbing, it probably looks like it from a specific angle, but there isn't anything there.

There's one view point in Acre during the 2nd assassination that will drive you insane... it took me like 5 minutes to figure out a way to climb the building (it's extremely tall and you have a ledge up until about halfway, but then you're stuck so you gotta start climbing to the SIDE until you get to the center of the building right above this one dude that keeps preacing to the public, and then climb down some and keep moving towards the center until you see a big ol' design on the wall which is finally able to be climbed... of course they made it this hard because there's a Templar waiting at the top but still... it was rather annoying..) Oh and that building looked like it could be climbed further too, but the ledges just weren't there when I twisted the camera.

    Re: Assassin's Creed

I think the game is fun fuck doing all the side quests, climbing the view points is ok but damn i got tired of saving the citizens fast. On the last 2 assassination's, shame this game doesn't seem to have any replay value :s

    Re: Assassin's Creed

I like saving the citizens out of all the other sidequest type things, mainly because it ends up bringing about 10 guards to me at once.

Only read the last page or so, and I've been having trouble with combo kills too. Don't really need them other than the achievement (I'm an admitted achievement whore), but I do like the animations of them. Short blade counter kills are the best though. Stomping on someone's feet then slashing their throat, how badass is that, seriously?

    Re: Assassin's Creed

I watched my friend play this game last night for a little bit before we out and I have to say the way he descirbed it was not good.

First of all the story seems hella weird and he's predicting a "breakout"esque ending like Portal where you use your abilities in an unfamiliar environment to escape. He says that's the only reason he's still playing it. The game play looked so repetitive, he said every town has the same 2 people the moors who punch you and the beggar ladies who fuck you up and you want to fucking strangle every time you hear (which made me laugh when I saw or rather heard one). Also, simple holding R+A to do all that fancy shit is a real letdown, they really over hyped the puppeteer system. The game looks beautiful but seems like you will have done everything within the first 5 minutes, no progression and very repetitive so I could see myself maybe renting it but never buying for replay. I have to admit even though I got slightly spoiled on the story that aspect of the game still really intrigues me.

The reason I'm posting this mostly is to ask for someone to refute my statements and tell me to get the game because from what I saw it looked hella fun at first but my opinion was swayed to simply renting it instead, is this a good idea?

    Re: Assassin's Creed

I've done three of the story assassinations so far, and it is really repetitive so far. However, I can honestly deal with the repetition because despite what you're doing is the same in every city, the fights are still somewhat random (as far as the counter- and combo-kill animations, they're typically really random for me). It's fun to sometimes just explore the cities since I think they're accurate models of the real thing? Not too sure. I think if someone just grinded through the story assassination after assassination it would give you a bad taste, but I don't regret buying it. My general rule of thumb though when considering rent vs. buy, if I have any doubt about what I should do, I just rent it. Intuition is pretty strong, and when I rent games I usually end up beating them anyway.

    Re: Assassin's Creed

They're not random at all, it depends on what the enemy is doing at that exact moment, and the angle from which you approach him.

The counter kills? May not be random then, but I almost never get the same kind twice in a row or anything, which is enough to satisfy me.

Probably has something to do with me constantly moving then, if it's all about angles and what the guards are doing.

I'm looking to buy a new game and had this game and Uncharted on my mind but can't decide between the 2 as to what to get. Any fellow PS3 owners have this game and Uncharted, and would like to share some opinions on both of them to help make my decision easier?

    Re: Assassin's Creed

If you can afford both get them.. if not, I would personally go with AC even though Uncharted seems like a really good game too (that apparently has a lot of replay value even though it's about 8 hours long..)

I haven't played AC, however, I have Uncharted. Pay no attention to those fools who compare it to TR, because is not. If you like action packed and fast-paced games, this is it.

I agree, about to do my 8th one right now heh..

Just did the 7th one in Damacus, and holy shit it's HARD lol... I hope Acre and Jerusalem's last hunts aren't this difficult... >.< (I'm going for the Disciple of the Creed achievement too, so I have to kill all the main targets with a full DNA bar, which can be pretty hard sometimes heh..)

Insane's more like it... plus, saying it's "boring" without actually giving any worthwhile explanations is kind of stupid too.

Full DNA bar refers to the animus menu not your health bar. Just means you do all the investigations, save all the people and get all high points for each section of the towns. I got the achievement and I was close to death on some assassinations.

Here's a link that will explain the wtfending ending for you.

    Re: Assassin's Creed

omg @ the ending... I want AC2 like right now lol (they basically leave it as a GIANT cliffhanger... they better be working on the 2nd one already lol.)

Some spoilers about the ending, so making it smaller just in case..:

The doctors basically say they'll be right back, but the game is basically over from that point... you need to use your eagle vision with DESMOND in order to locate the words on the walls that you keep seeing after every memory block when Desmond goes to sleep, Desmond is confused by what they mean and then the credits roll...

The ending is explained here: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... 2&site=xbw , so read this once you've beaten the game.
