Oops!... Salvage Blunders

After preaching to our new RDM about keeping DoT on Madames, on our first one, sure enough: no DoT (5fn). So we wipe and get back up and try again, same thing, no DoT. We semi recover, and get charmed for a 3rd time without DoT. At this point, we're running out of time on this thing, and only a MNK/NIN was unweakened, so I pop hundred fists. The RDM proceeds to start casting loads of DoT, but had targeted one of the Ramparts in the room, proceeds to get owned...

within first month of salvage(pre-crate patch obviously), SilverSea, one of our 2 MNKs used fireflies instead of rr at start. Proceded to watch as melee slowly died off attempting to h2h mobs, after about 50 hi-pots and no magic cells dropping, our only MNK finally died and the run ended on the first floor.

Last week, I went to pull 1st of 10 gears for LBC Nerf, wind weather popped as I went to pull and all three warped~ Proceded on to LBC where as I was hitting /JA and drinking drinks, all the melee in the group engaged and whacked away causing LBC to Homing Missle to my face. (Learned I need to get to the side since people don't understand, "Back off while I 100")

Killing 3F QQTH, RDM and BLM nuke/dot while melee wait at start, it decides to never run to our Melee and just keep coming back to us. Eventually kills me and the RDM, neither with rr, and dying to dot unclaimed about 10s before my melee got there.. Probably dropped Macha's Coat too, ya...?

Done the regulars too, lost a few cells to not enough room/everyone passing and lost one cell to paralyze in arrapago, was like head/neck tho big whoop. Was right after I said don't use cells while para too tho.. Got para'd as I used it..

Blm aoe'n ramparts twice in same bhaf run lol.
Blm D2'n themselves before 3rd floor rampart in bhaf.. we still popped it without a blm but was very funny since the blm was our only ares on this run.
Blm was dual-boxing both times in his defense ^^. Normally he does a great job but these 2 runs were very funny!

- nuke on flans with tier IV spells resulting in flans taking 50% dmg of their HP and disabling spike mode in my 1. run as blm (i usually go brd)
- dying 6 times in row to AoE from gears as brd when I was weakaned and had no gear at all (and no whm in the run)
- blm -ga spell the bees and hit the rampart with it....
- the 1. triple gear pull in bhaflua remnants floor 3 with basicly resulting in linking the whole room
- the first madame we fought charming and pwning everyone into oblivion
- insta diying on scorpion pull, because i thaught they wouldnt link

After reading this thread so far, I feel a bit relieved. :D

Off the top of my head here's the worst luck on my runs:

-First time we ever popped a Rampart in Bhaflau, ALL the DDs promptly demolished it thinking it was the NM that dropped the gear.

-WHM and BRD dc'd the instant we enter arrapago remnants, both of them were supposed to lot magic cells and everyone else had already passed. We proceeded to get another magic cell off the first Lamia, but the WHM kept dc-ing everytime we pulled.

-a RDM had bought an Instant Warp instead of an Instant Reraise scroll... you can guess what happened there

-I had the best habit: anytime we weren't sure if things linked or not, I would pull and discover, in the worst possible way, that they did in fact link (scorpions in 2F Bhaflau, Fomor + Imp in 2F Silver Sea, gears and ramparts in Zhayolm... etc) Luckily I think I've figured them all out ;p Just wish they had been a little more forgiving.

-Mistargetted and pulled the "key" Rampart in Gyroscopic Gears room by sheer luck as first mob (though it definitely made pulling the rest easier)

-So excited that we popped 5th floor North frog for the first time, I ran head first into the room with 8 triple gears without thinking they would aggro. Unfortunately, some people took that as a cue to start fighting them all XD

-Being the leader of the run and riding everyone not to forget their remnants permits, I did indeed forget mine once ;(

-Just recently forgot my Silver Sea Card and didn't realize it until the moment we started to help pop the 6F frog on Zhayolm Remnants, which was the whole reason for doing the run in the first place (been 2/3 on ares feet for too long) ... and of course 5FN didn't want to drop to help make up for it.

- Pre-Chest patch, first run we did was Bhaflau, and our melee's downed a Bomb, which proceeded to drop nothing. Second Bomb Self-Destructed and wiped the ally gg, and still dropped no cells.
- Forget about Auto-Run when attempting the 4th floor Gears for the first time. Allowed ourselves like 60 minutes to clear the floor too, only to get owned by something silly (Meh, they would have warped anyway).
- Getting our Thf to flee to the 5th Porter in Zhayolm but he dies on the porter, so I have everyone run to the porter, in the hopes that someone will make it. We did, but lol5dead.
- Watching people run places they really shouldn't have when they REALLY shouldn't have (Gear rooms in SilverSeas with all them nice undead Ghouls n stuff)
- Forgot my permit once, and was slated by the LS cuz I slate those who forget, and 60% of the time, someone forgets.
- Failed at entering, and was blaming everyone because someone had an Imbued cell in their invetory, and no-one would own up. After about 15 minutes, realised that I had a Head cell in my Bazaar gg me.
- And last night had a bet with our Co-Leader that we wouldn't wipe to LBC, so he tries his hardest to sabotage the run by going 0/1 on pulling the gears, I go 7/7, but last one warps, then I say "Fk it" and run to boss gg, unto which we proceeded to own nicely in classic LOLURFKD way.

Man, I love Salvage.

When we first started doing Salvage, we did Powderkeg almost all the time when we did SSR. When we got our first Deimos's Cuirass, I decided to go Dekka/GG route to get Enyo's Breastplate. For some dumb reason, I opened the SW door on floor 2 instead of the NW door. So yeah, I just prevented us from doing a bunch of 35 NM + Don Poroggo.

Entered my group with 3 people standing outside alliance. Did the run anyway, in order to get to have the fun little moment of watching the 35 drop for one of the people I had locked out of the run :/ Piece still hasn't dropped again since.

Pre-crate patch - we all sneak invis'd to the first lamia graverobber in arrapago. Ice spikes para'd all melee. Many hi pots got paralyzed, like seriously...our monk had 10 out of 13 of his pots paralyzed. Wipe on first mob, nobody had rr :]

We got owned in Bhaflau Remnants about a week ago which led to us not even making it past the first floor.

Here's what happened:

Loot chest distributed 1 Magic, 2x Weapons.

Due to a miscommunication or something (I'm still not even completely sure), the first Weapon cell was lost. Therefore, we only had 1 Weapon (and no MNKs). We pull the first bomb. THF engages (the only one with Weapon, for TH). Obviously, since we only had one person capable of doing damage (and it was a very small amount of it, at that), the fight burned all of our ONLY healer's MP. THF dies - healer decides to attempt to Raise him, except. . oh yeah, no one else can do damage and all of that curing on the THF got him hate. So, the bomb moves over and starts beating the shit out of the RDM - none of our other members had abilities or weapons.

RDM goes down. Best part? No Reraise. Wiped on the first mob, had no one with any ability to damage any mob and no one with cure spells. So, then, with nothing else to do (because no one had any weapons or magic) we decided we'll pull a few more Bifrons and try to force them to Self-Destruct so that we could get another Incus cell. Didn't work. Bomb killed half of the alliance and finally used Self-Destruct and what happened? It dropped a Spissatus cell! So we left. Hurrah!

Thankfully we went back to Bhaflau last night and cleared the whole zone (minus Mad Bomber who didn't pop for us, how gay).

My favorite mishap is when one our main-tank monks forget to change his subjob from thief to ninja after an assault when we were doing Arra. No one noticed till we reached the 4th floor (and he'd already used magic, subs and a number of other cells) and he's like "ummm guyssss...." Needless to say, our leader always tells us to /anon off and checks subs before we enter now. That was a fun run~

Just a few:

-8 or so weeks ago, Bhaflau 1F pops for us, we go in get a Gate Widow at 93% and kill. No drop. My ex-co-leader says to go kill the rampart and goes to kill it, preventing any other NMs from popping because he said "we didn't have time". We have seen Mad Bomber once since and never another Widow.

-The day of the discovery of the 5F and 6F Poroggo NMs in Zhayolm, we make a run at it. It goes great. All is efficient... until the 3F when we're farming for the stats off the mamool and when the 3 say they're unlocked, I ran and ported. Forgot you need to run to the NORTH side for that so... yeah run wasted.

-Bhaflau 3F rampart. Forgot Colibri in mass aren't a good thing to Sleepga II.

we entered bhaf with 18-ppl and people were slow on passing the chest cells and the very first bomb self-destruct and killed half the ally, and the magic cells went to the people who were dead
the mages forgot to use RR, run ended in less than 5min entering

Another time we entered arrapago with 12 ppl, and we wiped on 4F to big bhoot and the mages RR with ghosts close by and ended our run there

one run for mega boss, I rushed everyone to come to salv, and half our team including the main tanks forgot to change their sub and came /blm

On a recent Bhaflau run we were getting ready to port up after trolls/scorpions when our BRD dies in the hall without rr. I somehow zoned out and missed him saying the scorpions were on top of him, so I only casted invis to go raise him. As I was running... RR wore. I caught aggro and got pwned. Our MNK pulled some stuff off us while everyone firefly'd out, but died shortly after. We had like 20 minutes left or something. ._.) Yeah, I felt like crap.

Also, I hate Bhaflau so much. Stupid ramparts.

Also, a few arrapago remnants ago, let a Qiqirn Treasure Hunter die to DOT unclaimed. We had 6, so I was following it down since it go to run away at like 5%, I caught up to it at like 5%, went to nuke it for killshot, nuke went off, let it to 1%, since SE's servers suck, I R0ed at the worst possible time, as I'm spamming Blizzard II for killshot. Well when the server finally stops R0ing me I find myself dead with a Qiqirn dead right next to me lol.

Hmm, quturb don't aggro low hp, or if they do, it can't be larger than their sneak range. >_> i always pull with yellow and never aggroed one due to blood, only proximity (under 10 I think, probably less)
