Oops!... Salvage Blunders

Using Fireflies instead of Hi-Reraiser :D

I've seen people do that a few times, but the best one was when a MNK did it during a boss fight, followed by us wiping with it at 2%.

Worse thing I've done was screw up the 3F BR rampart pop by nuking down the slept triple gear after the rest of the group had just killed a single gear that had aggroed our puller (I wasn't paying attention and I thought they had just killed the other triple).

1. "Don't worry guys I'll head to the teleporter while you kill the 4 flans on 2nd floor Bhaf". I head West instead of East and proceed to get owned as I try to run by a bunch of true-sound wamoura. Someone comes to raise me and of course magic agro. Required way too much time and death since I went west instead of east.

2. "Hmm i'd like to bring 1 more person so we're 6/6 lets grab someone whos not in our salvage LS." 101 minutes later "F that never again, we'll go with 5 next time...."

3. For some reason calling the brds name out for first Arrapago magic instead of the RDM, of course no ranged and the marrows were stingy...

K we're on the Devilet floor I think, in SS. On vent, our leader says it's mostly clear to head to the first chests in the center of the room with sneak on if you're a mage and want some ethers. So suddenly we see our resident BLU run out of the safe hallway into the center...HP goes down...dead lol. We're like WTF why did you run out there, and with no sneak no less? His response was, "I heard get the chests on vent, and then thought about sneaking up but saw you guys all standing around the chest so I thought it was safe...then I realized it wasn't you guys, but Fomors............."

You just can't be mad at an answer like that lol.

Flashed AC when MNK/NIN tanks were getting beat on . . . as the only WHM . . . without -enmity gear unlocked . . . standing on top of the other mages . . . when it had TP.

Over the past 100+ runs, I led most of them and made a fair share of blunders.

1. I switch between BLM and RDM often. So once I went BLM and lotted first magic in Silver Sea when I thought I was RDM. Needless to say, I had to lot SJ as well to heal my group. It could have been worse

2. Saying some of my participants were NQ mnks aloud. (Well, if you see their equips that day, you would understand - One of them didn't even have brown belt.) I felt really bad saying that regardless. One of them stayed on however, and I am happy to say he is a well trained Salvage MNK now^^

3. Not bringing a THF to arrapagos 3-4 times.

4. Forgetting to give Ability cells to the COR. (I often forget he is there!)

5. Giving a long ass speech on pulling the ramparts for Chelonian, then went on to cast magic before THF aggro-ed everything, hence aggro-ed gears and died.

6. Casting Dia 2 on a gear that looked far enough, and proceeded to link the whole room for Gyroscopic Gears.

7. Mixed up boss and farming run on Zhayolm (supposed to be farm) and directed my group to run all over the map wasting time.

8. Split up group to hit another room before clearing the first room on Zhayolm 2F, to find that the door is locked, so had to backtrack to help clear first room. (We had 9 people)

9. Went into Arrapagos, got mnks to start hitting, mnks linked whole room, I died as only healer with no RR. 5 min run !

10. Before the patch, went into Bhaflau 3x and wiped in 5 min because no weapons dropped. Well not much of my blunder...but I didn't bring more than 2-3 potions along.

This was way back. Entered salvage, opened the chest and friend accidentally disbanded alliance so we lost all the cells. Made it more fun though, like the pre-patch days.

The only mage with magic unlocked getting up mid-fight and dying again right at the start. Most of the party wipe, everyone stands up but the 2 melee with the gear to pwn the mobs that drop the cells we need to continue.

A certain BLM that shall remain un-named decided to nuke 2nd floor flan in BR. This happened recently, we've been doing Salvage since the day it came out >.> It turned out to be funny because we all know he just reacted instinctively to seeing a flan on his screen

During the mad rush for 6F, I asked my static if anyone had a Silver Sea card since my stash had run out. One member said she had the card but when we arrived at the slot that night we learned that Zhayolm cards don't work in Zhayolm.

This is why she is still 2/3 on Morrigan's Slops and hasn't seen a pair of Bodb's in 8 months.

Also, back in the early days of Salvage, I instructed people to "kill the Reactionary Rampart as quickly as possible" and was delighted to find that they went down easily.

Did a suicide pull for 5FN in Zhayolm so the group could get by but left Counterstance on >.> They still made it without aggro and proceeded to kill the Madame but let it die to dot unclaimed.

After preaching to our new RDM about keeping DoT on Madames, on our first one, sure enough: no DoT (5fn). So we wipe and get back up and try again, same thing, no DoT. We semi recover, and get charmed for a 3rd time without DoT. At this point, we're running out of time on this thing, and only a MNK/NIN was unweakened, so I pop hundred fists. The RDM proceeds to start casting loads of DoT, but had targeted one of the Ramparts in the room, proceeds to get owned...

Be fair, own up and tell em about the F1 Madame.

In my case, I forgot prism powders, and couldn't get to the F1 NE porter, until a SJ and Magic cell dropped, NATURALY, because another member was dead and forgot RR. We missed the 3FN Madame by about 3 seconds.

One of my groups - Salvage Noobs ^^ (of course we have some 35s already xD).

Our mistakes have included
First 3fn frog run, after i tried to drill it in to people that some dot needs to be on, i totally forgot to apply my elemental dots xD

Me casting my lot on a magic cell, then as i went pass another cell, one dropped from pool, shifting them all up one and making me pass on the magic cell i had just lotted right as the final person passed loosing it (luckily our rdm had the first cell)

Thf lotting on cells, getting them and not having the inv space so them falling to the abys

whm passing their mp cell from chest, thus loosing it

cor/rng one first run, mis-hearing me, lotting and using magic cell (my magic cell ).

And finally tonights run, our first attempt at popping the 3f rampart in bhuf. Pulled the first tripple to our camp, didnt think out positioning and 3 mages dead , recovered got to the stage where we wanted to sleep ready to take down the next, at this point the blu suddenly remembers that disservament(sp?) has quite a dot kick to it XD. Luckily the dot wore at 3% and we were able to sleep and pop.

I'll add mine. Whenever a hand cell drops, I keep telling the monks to lot, when the THF has TH4. (Of course, monks are paying attention so they give it to THF.)

We had a good few months where our leader would consistently try to give body cells to our rdm without a refresh body before all the mages with them.

Oh, and giving the first head cells to the tanks instead of the (same) rdm with relic head...
