    Re: Oops!... Salvage Blunders

Most of my group's blunders recently involve me forgetting an SS card or everyone standing juuuuust out of discoid range, causing the tanks to get buttfucked on the first missed stun. Nothing too exciting as of late.

    Re: Oops!... Salvage Blunders

Went to pull the linking formers in the Hammerblow room the other day. Plan was to have the THF train them out to the hall while the MNKs sniped one to kill. WHM was still resting when the train ran past him... yea. But hey no problem, we'll just have the SMN back up heal, too bad he fell asleep shortly after the run started, and didn't wake up until a few hours after the run was over. I was wondering why it took so long for cells to drop from the treasure pool.

Same kind of thing happened to my group a couple weeks ago. Lead to a very very bad Silver Seas lol. But at least we finished someone's Morrigan's Robe

I should direct one of my guys to this thread to see how common that is. He was on rdm a couple days ago going for LBC and used scroll of warp instead of scroll of rr upon entering lol.

    Re: Oops!... Salvage Blunders

I've made a few major errors as I've learned Salvage (mostly from getting a group together and learning as I lead them). But my absolute worst was last week, and it was all a matter of my own stupidity.

    Zhayolm Remnants:
1F: read about the 1F pop "trick" and wanted to try it out. I was not experienced with it, and only had preliminary reports on it, so I direct our mnk to hold all cells. We kill Poroggo Gent to 5%, rdm tries repeatedly to sleep it so we could all log out. Blu had used a DoT on it we didn't know, so it wouldn't sleep. rdm ends up grav+run away/log off, and that worked fine. But, in the rush, I had told everybody to log off for 2min only.
We THINK that it didn't work, but not sure, because I didn't realize Madame popped in armory crate room >.> so we warped when we didn't see it where we were.

2F: I warped us up from NW...into a room of wyverns >.< killed them all, door unlocked, we go to other rooms so we can unlock 3 ppl...doors are locked...I warp in frustration (remembered about the Mamool Ja we didn't kill about 5min later).

3F: Already hosed for 5F NM, so just kill some stuff and get stats unlocked, before heading up to 4F.

5F: when everything else went bad, I decided to try for a Mega boss run...but along with everything else I screwed up that night, I went 5FN even though no poroggo pop. so, we started killing gear triples...die several times, and just made it a card farming run.

The bad part is: My group considered it one of our most successful runs... (they still get excited when a card drops >.>)

Definitely my bad all that run.

    Other notables errors:

I go thf, gear macro problems on 2F QQA on 2F Arrapaggo...mob died before I could steal. (different group, more experienced)

having a bad pull as my first pull in arrapago...2 qutrub, slow reactions, I die. My group decides: "he's just a thf" and leave me dead for a while...no TH on 1F Arrapago...very few cell drops that day.

COR puller didn't know about fomor and imps linking to each other on 2F SSR.

Not exactly a blunder, but: My very first Salvage run ever, a JP /sh group took me in. did ZR, popped/killed 2F socket, 2F slot, 3FS, 5FN, 6F and Mega Boss, with about 5-10min to spare...Only later did it hit me that runs not including a relic mnk, relic sam, and relic brd would not go as well as that first one.

edit: 1 omitted word changes the entire sentance meaning.

Me buying a instant warp instead of instant reraise, and didn't notice. One of my first runs too. Good game warping out after like 30 seconds of salvage.

    I blame Aemora.

Just to keep information right and in case you still don't know, you can kill the Gent and log after it's dead. No time wasting, log off -> log on inmediately, just needs a second or two with people fully locked in the area. Carry on with the blunders~

Don't remember what run it was, bhaf i think, we popped chest and i was passing. Being our main rdm/whm i lotted magic, and as im trying to pass stuff, pool shifts, and ended up passing magic on accident.

Lesson learned: Pass the 2 weapons before you lot magic.

Thanks for this...I DID find out about this, but only yesterday, as I was reviewing my information. So, now that we've done 2 runs with wasting all that time, we should be good to go this fast way now. taking my group through tonight, so we'll try it out.

How many people need to be fully locked to pop it?

An entire wing including gent needs to be dead, and every person in the zone needs to be alive and fully locked, and it will pop.

If every person in the zone happens to be just one person, so be it.

    Re: Oops!... Salvage Blunders

A glitch in salvage, We zone in, WHM starts DC'ing on mob 1, I pull mob 2 and get this :

    [attachment=0:16djh8zg]Bio.jpg[/attachment:16djh8zg]

What the hell? Nothing in the first floor of SSR can bio aside the RDM, Fomor don't have Bio Weaponskills, and last I checked, ranger mob (the mob I always pull second) doesn't have bio arrows. Weirdest glitch I've seen to date.

Guillotine'd a Ziz on 1st floor Zhayolm... it promtly 1 shotted me and some gimp dragoon in my group.. luckilly our RDM was on the ball and sleep nuked it down.. wasted a fair bit of time though -.-

First time i have personally encountered a silenced Ziz..

I learned that using a scythe on the 1st floor just isn't worth it '-')/

    Re: Oops!... Salvage Blunders

Guy in our group who we were doing the run for used a scroll of instant warp instead of Re-raise. We killed the NM he needed anyway and the item he needed dropped, not best pleased.

OFN, if you were reading the Poroggo Madame discussion before people knew how to pop 5F and 6F madames then you would've also seen that this behavior happens with all Ziz in Zhayolm Remnants.

Any type of silence triggers a rage mode in the Ziz there.

Tell me where in his post he was stating it was new? He was posting his salvage blunder. Take your OFN and gtfo.

    Re: Oops!... Salvage Blunders

Yeah, I was surprised too on the extent of how rage mode they get when I casted silence (with full intent of knowing it'd rage) and then it proceeded to kill 2 members. Doesn't mean shit.
