Possible to turn off all but one sound effect?

Basically, I'm curious if there's a way that I could turn off all sound effects except for the beep sound when I receive a /tell. And if so, would they still play if the FFXI window is not in focus? It would be handy when I'm logged on, but working on other things on the computer...

You can turn sound effects and etc down in the in game options, but calls will still go through. I don't know of the /tell tone will be affected or not by this.

Yeah, I do this all the time when I'm busy around the house. Turn off gameplay volume and sound effects, then turn up the volume on my comp to max so I can hear the tell chime anywhere in the house.
