Of course, I really, really, really hope that that's not the case.

... but if you think about it, wouldn't new armor from the past at least have to be a similar style as what we already have present day from the middle lands?
I'm optimistically hoping that there will be some cool new stuff, but sadly I think going into the past gives SE an excuse to recolor existing armor styles.
Of course, if the stats blow away existing stuff (which is doubtful) then looks will be less important.
Well.. the Crystal War was 20ish years back yeah? How different are the cloths in that time frame in rl, or what about Star Wars episode 1-3 compared to 4-6 ships/technologyOriginally Posted by Vedder

They look better arranged properly:

The list isn't really working for me so if anyone could tell me how to install in correctly that'd be great. But more importantly I saw there were new WSs, though, like everything else, I couldn't see the animation or anything.
You probably didn't move the folders into the ROM folder. By default, the update installs the files into the FINAL FANTASY XI folder instead of the ROM folder where they need to be for AltanaViewer to work.Originally Posted by geno3302
I always thought they were barspells, too, just because of the name (Barterra, Barignis, etc.)Originally Posted by Delekii
But I guess Barterra could be the spell to change it to Wind weather or something.
Although I could be thinking of something else, since I haven't looked at them in the .dats for a while.
Either way, if they're subbable, I could definitely see at least one BLM subbing Scholar to give his party Thunder weather. I wonder if two Scholars could make double Thunder weather...
there's an Ignis, Aqua, Terra and Aer spell in the .dat, each look like Burn, Drown, Rasp and Choke, in that order, with the exception of them having an additional Break Defense, Break Magic Defense, MP down (reversed Refresh) and HP down (Reversed Regen) animation to them at the end. There's also a Barignis, Baraqua, Barterra and Baraer in the .dat, so I doubt those are the Season spells.
the new dat finds are really interesting..
the rest of the dances.. they're all pretty good. Galka's was unexpected..
Scholar animations.. lovely. I love the whole Grimoire book-autoflipping thing, very Charmed-Book-of-Shadows lol. The weather spells seems decent. The season effects are lovely. <3 Autumn.
New faces, I love the Hume F one, cant say much about freckles on a mithra.
Blu spells - the Rafflesia one reminds me of a move that Mandragoras in FFX-2 (and probably X as well) had, where they shot out multiple seeds at the enemy. Because of that, it also reminds me of the Ronso Rage (Blue Magic) that you can learn from Mandragoras, ie Seed Cannon, altho this looks more like Seed Machine Gun.
New eq - i love the xmas boots.. Soon we'll have a whole Xmas set. The new armor sets are pretty meh. Its mostly recolors and retextures.. Nothing much of interest.
The face full of band-aids revealing only the eyes reminds me of someone from Kingdom Hearts and Necrophobia from FF5. The cover face except the eyes thing is also remniscient of Gogo in FF5-FF6 and Gilgamesh circa FF8
Btw, looking at the mithra, I thought, oh they really are making the Hooker job..
is that new taru the guy they were talking about in that WotG taru NPC history dude?
edit: i mean, sure, nobody knows, gogo speculation :D
The people dising the Galka dance moves are just haters. They can't stand the fact that Galkas dance steps managed to be so graceful and masculine at the same time.
And I like to call that ending dance move "the stepping on Tarus jig".
Obviously Vivi.Originally Posted by Pergo

Now that you've mentioned it, it might be a way of paying homage to the faceless Black Mage with yellow dots for eyes, who Vivi was designed to pay homage too as well.Originally Posted by blister1

Perhaps the new faces we've seen are just younger versions of NPCs we've seen in the
regular game missions. Ayame/Nahna Migo or something.
I will laugh when the families associated with your spells are wrong... for instance the 6 hit looks to be a better fit for Pixie and the Bite move looks better for GnoleOriginally Posted by huckster
