I will laugh when the families associated with your spells are wrong... for instance the 6 hit looks to be a better fit for Pixie and the Bite move looks better for Gnole

Perhaps the new faces we've seen are just younger versions of NPCs we've seen in the
regular game missions. Ayame/Nahna Migo or something.

You know, the face of the Hume female that Lordshin posted kind of reminds me of Lion. (Maybe because of the hair.) Not to idly speculate, but that could possibly be her mother. Then again it could just be a total coincidence or a red herring.

Yeah he is but you never know SE could be trying to tricky and change it up on us, I just feel like the animations don't fit with the families

You know, I was serious about leveling Galka Dancer just out of spite, but holy crap after seeing that video I can't bring myself to do it. It's just horrific. There's no better way to describe it. Even the elvaan chick looks like a moron. Mithra dances look kinda tolerable, but still ridiculous. The only ones who can get away with it as usual are Taru.

Also, what's the deal with that helmet? It has to add massive -Acc, because there's a big strap right across the eyes of the characters. Is that just the viewer screwing it up?

Looking at these new armor sets, my two cents of speculation are that they're the standard armor for each country.
The Elf armor reminds you of the Sandy flag, sorta Haubert. Cardinal Mildaurion (w/e her name, the other chick from CoP besides Ulmia/Prishe) wore armor very similar to Hydra Haubert. She was a church representative, the church is Sandy, so .... that's my string of speculation there;p
The Hume armor seems generically plate mailyish, looks like mythril/silver, Mythril Musketeers?
The Mithra armor looks like secksy ho-bag, maybe it's the uniform armor of the Mithra mercenaries?
Could just be the NPC leader for the Campaign's of each home nation.
Or it could be the generic soldier armor. World is supposedly at war, so I don't see the generic troops running about in their cloth and leathers to face heavy Quadav shock troops.

Maybe they're all in that group with the little San d'Oria kid. o.O I dunno, I'm not too familiar with the storyline of the crystal war.

I'd like to point out that the barignis/aer/terra/aqua etc spells have been in the game for a very long time... I found them in AltanaViewer before WoTG was even announced. Same for Ignis/Aer/Terra/Aqua... as well as the aoe versions on the bars. They have been under White Magic/Black Magic for a while near the bottom. The spells that resemble Blue Magic though... I've never seen or noticed those before.

I moved the .dat files to /rom but the only thing that's showing up in altanaview are the BLU spell animations.

It actually looked slightly better in the model viewer when you could move it around... There's a tiny slot for the eyes, but it's not much!

Uh... hmmm. I'm not sure where the second image comes from, but it doesn't really look anything alike to the bandaged Tarutaru.

I think the new armors all look pretty interesting, none bad enough to comment on at least. I'm surprised people are complaining about "reskins". Just about every single piece of armor in FFXI is made from the same couple of basic models(Aketon, Robe, Breastplate, etc) with a few exceptions in Artifact heads and 1-2 pieces per expansion.
