Gah, I beat all the purple comet shit but the game says I only have 119 stars. What the deuce? Is there something I'm missing?

you could have gotten all the purple coin stars and still missed two of the hidden stars.

lastnight I finally beat the game, started getting the rest of my stars to hit 121. at 102 now, was off to do the hidden star on frozen flame (or whatever the hell its called) galaxy, and I have no idea what it is or what to look for lol.

Anyways, I just finished getting 120 stars with Mario, and was a bit more than disappointed with there being next to no changes for Luigi's runthrough for what I've played.
(Nintendo could at least have turned off the damn tutorials....)

Go to the big board map when you first load the game. The one by the 'star princess' girl. Everyone with a crown is finished, so find one without a crown. If they all have crowns then it's a luma star or a green star.

I beat him fine normally, but I swear he's like throwing invisible rocks at me and shit, because I'll dodge all of them and then BOOM! Dead.

Get as close as to him as you can without getting hit and run either CW or CCW. That way when he drops the bomb boos and you pick them up you won't have to stretch them as far. It makes the fight incredibly easy. Just remember the patterns. I think it's (throw rocks/boos twice, then shoot a wall of rocks at you). Make sure you stop dead in your tracks before he releases the wall.

I had problems with that stage too before (and even posted about it here!), but I was able to beat it after I pay more attention to its movement and be a lot more patient and not just go all out.

It seems to be the most vulnerable right after he throws a punch. I just run counter clockwise and throw the ghosts at him outside his arm.

As for the cube stage mentioned above in this thread... what I do is that I counted how many coins are in the first surface (with the fountain) - it was about 20 IIRC, and then I just ignore the first surface and get all the coins until I get 80, then go to the fountain to get the rest...

Yeah keep going up. The fun part is figuring how to get up to the next area past the boss. I'll leave that for you to figure out

hint: you don't actually go past the boss area (so if you see the boss cutscene you've gone too far) - there's a star along the way that will shoot you over.

I always prepared for him to throw 7 rocks (since it appears to be the max he tosses at you in one round)....would be a lot easier if we had more control of the damn camera in the game. ;/

Anyways, still ticked off by all the delays in Luigi's run thanks to all the friggen' lumas treating me like a noob again.

I cant time the jump right. since the platforms dissapear once you jump off them it seems to throw off the timing. have a feeling this is going to be a star thats going to be much more annoying to get than it warrants

Did you become "iceman" before doing the triple jump? It wasn't too hard for me...
