I get kills by counter all the time, and it still records that I was the one who killed, I'd agree with the above, its because the person countering died in the same round.

freak accident because you died and as you died you somehow countered it and killed it but because you died, it killed itself. I've killed plenty of mobs with counter, just one of those retarded things, like idiot ninjas trying to mijin kill and mobs dying to dot unclaimed right after.

I've seen similar things happen before with Mijin Gakure. It was a big rumor a few years ago on my server that Mijin Gakure increases drop rates so my LS liked to try it alot and i can remember one instance where we Mijin Gakure killed Kirin and nothing dropped at all. I've also seen LS's lose claim to mobs this way, just seems to be a random glitch when the person with hate dies right before or during the kill. I will say that while soloing weaker NMs on ninja i often Mijin Gakure just for old times sakes. 1/36 on Ochiumusha Kote the one time i finally decided to Mijin they dropped. I really doubt it's because of the counter kill, I'd put money that you didnt get drops cause the mnk died not cause he countered for the kill. Monsters still drop when they "fall to the ground" so i doubt the SB defeating SB was the problem.
