omg Interplay is coming back, this will be surely the best news ever.

Descent = one of the best games ever; I can not wait for some sort of port/remake/sequel.
And im sure alot of people enjoy Earthworm and Jim.

idk how exactlly related it was, I didnt like Freepsace too much, but I liked DII the best, the mods and online gameplay was so great.

I've played Descent I and II, and Descent: Freespace I and II. They aren't related assuming you're referring to storylines and such. I own Descent III as well, but never got into it much to play it the whole way through like I did with the others. Descent II was my favorite overall.

I used to love Descent 1 and 2 but never got a chance to play online against/with people being on 56k when those games were out. Never played Descent III.

Still remember how that voice called you out for cheating when you used cheats.

Descent 2 was amazing online back in the day playing on the microsoft gaming zone! omg if they remake the game, i'm so spending money for an upgrade on my pc, no FPS was as good as this one IMO.

Oh wow, thats awesome news. Decent was the first game I bought for PC iirc. I played some flight simulations beforehand and Doom at friends houses, but Decent was my first entry into real PC gaming. Good shit.

Ugh now I'm wishing my old joystick still worked, I still have the game disks somewhere but I can't play without it.

Oh man, Freespace 2 falling off into no-stock obscurity was one of the greatest crimes against space-based fighter sims. I still have Freespace 1, and could never find 2, but Freespace 1 was up there with Wing Commander. Please let there be a Freespace 3, or 2 republished.

Freespace 2 was actually remade a while ago to include some updated better-looking textures. I think Volition released the Source Code for the game once and these guys improved on the graphics and other things, the only thing is you need the retail version of freespace 2 (still the best space shooter ever made!) to install it.

It's worth it, the mods they did are pretty good, they constantly update and upgrade each ship model, the graphics are noticeably better with this pack installed.

EDIT: If you have a file server or something I can try ripping the Freespace CDs (there are 3) and sending them to you, let me know if you're interested. Like I said Freespace 2 is still one of the best space shooters around

Wasn't much to see with Freespace. Your cockpit, space, your HUD, some radar tracks on your HUD, the occasional monolothic spaceship trying to blow you into vapors, a enemy fighter as a little speck, before it screams past you. You have to see it in motion, hear the sounds effects and music to enjoy Freespace.
