    So I asked a question ….

    Hi, Staova reporting in from the Fan Fest, and frankly I did not want let another chance pass that could lead to some answers about Absolute Virtue. I snagged one of the Black Shirt Mercenary’s (official staff) for a little Q and A

    Q: So, simply put, how do you keep Absolute Virtue from using his two hours?
    A: His two hours are directly tied to the number of monsters remaining.

    Q: Do you mean the other Jailers? Do they need to be popped and killed during the Absolute Virtue Fight?
    A: No *laughs* common monsters, ‘aren for example

    Q: What about spell effects like Meteor and Comet?
    A: You can’t do a thing about that, if your skilled you might be able to avoid* it, but it will be extremely hard.

    (at that point the is called away)

    So .. I am floored, can it really be as simple as killing Aren (and other monsters) with matching jobs to lock AV’s to hours? Was this BS? Has anyone tried this yet? Feedback Please!

    Fairly certain when I said "immune to stun" I mean all forms of stun.

    Yeah, but when is the last time you heard of someone hitting AV with Leg Sweep?

    I realise it is a retarded idea, but hey, maybe there is something too it, perhaps something about the wyvnavs makes him stunnable... maybe stunning them?

    Nobody said it would be easy, even with limiting his 2 hours. However at least if this works it's possible.

    i thought the aern theory was tested while AV was popped and it showed no effect on the actual fight ;/

    Well, if there is some way to either prevent the Meteor casting (Blm?) or the Chainspell insta-casting of it (Rdm?) then I guess it could be workable.

    Looks like that crazy Aern theory was on to something? Just tested poorly and dismissed I guess.

    Last time we popped AV we killed all the mobs around it's spawn, then tried pulling it to the palace and manaburning all the mobs around there, did absolutely nothing as far as I could tell.

    The primary complaint has been that regardless of what you do, if he gets Benediction off you're back to square one. ChainMeteor isn't too hot to deal with either.

    If locking Benediction/Chainspell is as simple as this person says though, wouldn't others have noticed this by now?

    I don't know. Call me skeptical, but I have to think there has to be more to it than this.

    Perhaps killing them all isn't the trick?

    Did people do the .dat rename so they could tell Rdm from Blm aern and leave the appropriate one up?

    its prolly got something to do with all the Om'aerns in the zone not just the ones around his spawn.

    I posted here because I wanted honest feedback, so thank you =)

    For Expample to lock Benediction you would need to kill a white mage 'aren, and those are fairly rare spawns (1/7 possible jobs). As far as I know there is no "you have locked this two hour" message, so to really see if Benediction is locked, you need to actuallyfight him to death. So people stumbling onto this randomly is pretty remote, then understanding why it happend is almost nill.

    So wait, did he say something about "after the 2hr is used, then appropriate Aern has to be killed to lock its further use" or is that speculation?

    The way I read if you have to keep every single Aern pop dead while you fight AV to prevent him from 2hring.
    I'd really like to see how the 18 man dev team does that.

    A couple things still unclear:

    1. Aern was given as note, an example, doesnt rule out the fact that the other mobs (Phaubo, Yovra, Hpemde, Xzomit) can still be tied to his 2hrs.

    2. They didn't clarify the radius of mobs that would effect AV's 2hrs, had they said the mobs around JoL's ???, or even within the same <pos> block (map-wise), could narrow it down even more. Aerns would seem to be the most logical thing here, but once again although more closer than before, not clarified.
