SUbbing BLM would let them use Wizard's earring for +5 elemental skill, Conserve MP might help a little too, other than that I can't think of any other noticeable bonus except 1 or 2 INT and a little MP. ES would be handy for sticking -ga enfeebs too.

This is all very cool, but I have to say the apparent lack of Libra is fail.

Just hope it's in there and we haven't seen it yet...

    Re: more info on Scholar/Dancer

Mitsutoshi Gondai takes the stage to talk about the two new jobs.
Dancer is designed to be a healer who is also on the front lines, using TP to heal other players.
Also enfeebles - with "Steps". Can be used multiple times for increased effect.
    Example steps: Jigs, Sambas,
Each time a step is used the dancer gets flourished which can be used for finishing moves.
Play will look like: Attack -> Gain TP -> Steps -> Flourishes -> Finishing moves - all while healing party.
Scholar - both white and black magic plus new spells
Job Abilities: Tabula Rasa (2hr?), Light Arts, Dark Arts, Modus Veritas, Strategems
Will assist party and combine abilities (light arts and dark arts)
The abilities will be used to take one of these two "stances" - switching is easy.
Strategems will be the advanced moves. Like summoner pacts (with a cooldown), these change depending on whether you are set Light Arts or Dark Arts (Two different lists). They can be charged however, so they can use multiple charges depending on how many are stored.
Dark Arts Strategems: Parsimony, Alacrity, {{|Def: High spirits|Ebullience}}, Manifestation.
Light Arts Strategems: Celerity, 3 others.
Start able to store 1 - as gain in levels get up to 3 charges
    4 minutes per charge.

    Re: more info on Scholar/Dancer

the sch and dnc news is amazing..

Scholar looks set to fill the disparity between RDM and BLM as far as nuke damage directly from a PC goes (automaton is still quite unique), and Drain and Aspir without /BLM.. mmm nice

Dancer seems very interesting. It seems they've put alot more thought into this than I thought.. However, I'd think since theres a transitional style of playing Dancer it will probably be interesting to see people develop strategies in playing Dancer..

Trance btw, is probably semi-homage to FFIX's 'limit breaks'. Now we have Trance (2hr Dancer: FF9) and Overdrive (2hr PUP: ff10).. wheres Quickening?

I read someone say Tabula Rasa..

seems like Scholar abilities are mostly Latin based.

am i the only person thats more interested in the subjob possibilities than the actual mains themselves? if the the en-drain and en-aspir effects are 100% proc rate i will be delighted since i hate mnk/nin with a burning passion. en-aspir would probally give bluemage near limitless mp. i think dancer as a sub could definately bolster a pupetmasters solo ability.

Grimoires enhance the skill level, without any grimoire active they're all at 186, with the proper grimoire active they bump up to 196.

That's D and B (so I've been told) this is all coming from Tekki who's at the FanFest and already got to demo WoTG

Using strategems, and selective the white or black grimoire basically. Without being in either mode, all skills are D. They increase significantly with their respective books open. This also gives you access to that grimoires JAs.

The demo characters all look to be level 60, so I'd think 196 is correct.
