dance steps cost between 10-25 tp
samba: melee buffs (all in party engaged to same mob will have this effect)
drain 1/2
aspir 1/2
haste
recast is 1-2 min, shared between all three, only one active
waltz: cures
cure 1/2/3
healing "removes debuffs"
divine "curaga of some type"
recast was short, but all shared
jigs:
spectral:: sneak/invis
chocobo: movement speed, about 12%
steps: 10tp each step, 15 sec recast (looks like a dagger animation)
quick: lowers target eva and gives "finish"
box: lowers target def and gives "finish"
stuter: lowers magic def and gives "finish"
flourish1: costs 1 finish, 30 sec recast.
animated: provoke
degenerate: gravity
violet: stun (not 100% proc)
flourish2: costs 1 finish, 30 sec recast
reverse: turns finish into tp(~10 tp per finish)
finishing(?):increases WS potency
wild: "readies target for skillchain" costs 2 finish causes"single WS skillchain" one wasp sting gave scission
counter for finishes, store up to 5.

Even so, it's pretty nice if it's implemented like that-- remember it's just the 60 cap, if you wanna see it as scaling.Originally Posted by Xanthe
as for stats of the scholar/rdm i have a picture of the screen for weapon skill and stats, but not magic skill. if someone wants to message me on aim to host it for me, i'll send it to you
aim name: lag valhalla
I thought chocobo jig was supposed to be the same speed as chocobo mazurka? Isn't that faster than 12%?
And Persnickety and Alimony seem fairly decent for Scholar.
ah interesting shared JA and only one can be used at a time..
either haste the pt or give endrain etc.
Dance seems like its going to be a busy job and pretty high maint. Fun!

Thanks for all the info!
Any idea if you can have all 3 if you have 3 dancers? Or is it limited to 1 effect on a mob at any given time?Originally Posted by frodnonnag
From the youtube video, it seems that the endrain effect is a status you get after hitting somebody with Drain Daze...meaning a possibility of having multiple effects if the carry-on effect lasts for over the 1-2mins of recast. Wishful thinking, I suppose.![]()
Chocobo Mazurka is 25%
Either way, Dancer seems like the ultimate "getting around" job. Since dances don't use MP, they won't aggro arcana when they do spectral jig (sneak/invis). So getting anywhere will be as simple as chocobo jig -> spectral jig and then run off to wherever. Even better since BRD can't use mazurka inside.
wats to say dancer wont have the same limitations on choco jig as there is on mazurkas? SE are pricks and would prolly do something just like that to get peoples hopes up then slap them in the face
You can only have 1 "Jig" effect up at a time, I thought. At least that's how I understood it.Originally Posted by Khamsin
They said that? I hope that's just a baseless rumor.Originally Posted by travOtaku
The Drain/Aspir/Haste "Samba" moves all share the same recast and you can only have 1 up at a time.Originally Posted by Khamsin
The Curative dances also shared the same recast timer.
You choose 1 "Step" out of the 3 to enfeeble the mob.
It all seems to point to each dancing "family" can have only 1 family specific effect up at one time.
But I could be understanding it wrong.

how long do the samba effects last? if im understanding this right you could throw the drain 2 samba on a merit mob or something and mnks could just go to town with constant drain 2 effects taking place every attack round? i have to be misunderstanding something here because that just seems extremely over powered.
dumb question: any confirmation of the official abbreviation for scholar?
