I'm thinking that THF ability would be lovely with hide.
When crazy WHM use benediction what better way to save them than to gank their enmity and then toss it out the window.
Sadly, it would be haphazard. Hide doesn't work if you are on the hate list of a monster that aggros by sound, blood, or tracks by scent (unless you you get sneak and/or deodorize on you).Originally Posted by Weapon Zero
seems like the new thf JA is gonna make fights like tiamat alot easier when stuff like a roar happens a thf can barrow hate from another tank and TA the tank that just got roared.
Would love to steal half of a KC drk hate and trick attack a tank w/ it >.>

TA doesn't transfer current hate, only the damage is causes, so that wouldn't work. But I see it being fairly useful when combined with DRK's souleater zerging, as soon as drk takes hate, accomplice them, they'll go a little bit longer hate-free.Originally Posted by Lordender
I see it more as a life-saving hate management tool than anything, if it's a short recast then it'll also be a tanking tool, though.

I'm beginning to suspect that when SE talked about buffing something "people sometimes use to tank" they were actually talking about NIN. They've been very slow to pick up on the fact that NIN is a tank, and this perfect-SATA-partner buff could be used anywhere. Use it on an HNM, he turns to your co-tank for a second until the melee/THF(s) plant hate on you, then you hate comes flooding on back.
WAR is also even better at meritting now, lol. Depending whether or not their counter stops them from being hit, they might be the tank SE was talking about even though they still lack hate gain outside of their damage.
I figured the THF ability was to make the monster turn back around when that asshat WAR/NIN you're meritting with blows his WS and turns the monster just as you're about to hit SAWS.
The first sentence in this thread is incorrect. The way it was announced was more like, "We realized that the jobs may be overpowered and we will be making adjustments to the other classes to compensate for these advancements for two-handed weapon users." Because first they said, "The bad news is that it is overpowered," and everyone thought they were going to change the way they work, but then they said "other jobs" and the whole crowd quited down.... so I don't personally think two-handed weapon wielders will be nerfed.
Quoting myself from the other thread:
Ugh, they need to stop dragging DRK and DRG the same amount downwards as SAM when re-adjusting the two-handed weapon adjustment.
Also, Guard needs to be tweaked for MNK/lolPUP. In its current state, it's a pretty sad job trait. Granted, I don't know how good it is when capped as getting it capped is an ordeal in itself. Can't be good enough though if there is no real urgency around for all monks to cap guard.
Yay they balance the game then decide to fuck it all up again. GG SE
Time to level that divine magic up! At least, I *think* it'll be divine magic.WHM:

oh come on, sam nerf is way overdue. I said that shit was gonna be overpowered right when they annouced the 2h update in early july.
Well, SAM is not balanced.
For all two-handed weapon users, the 1 DEX = 1 ACC has not had too big an impact except in select end-game areas (hi2u Einherjar). There isn't a big impact almost everywhere else. I've still yet to see any kind of consistent parse of a DRK or a DRG beating a dual wielder/monk of equivalent gear by a margin large enough to claim that it was due to job imbalance and not fault of the players (in merit parties that is).
Sam is in no way overpowered, hell I'd say they are underpowered or just right where they are. I know when I PT with my Drk friend I win in the parser by a marginal 1% and hes Drk/nin, while I am Sam/war. Black Belt mnks, we both smoke em, hell most 2 handers I've PTed with since the patch do. Sam is in no way broken, its just like any other 2 hander.

Samurai are overpowered because a 'meh' geared one has a real chance to outparse anyone, but a better geared Samurai.
Would be really funny if the 'correction' was actually to multi-hit weapons since the problem seems to be Sam + Soboro, not Sam by itself. How pissed are all the Ridill wars and KC rangers gonna be if SE changes multi-hit weapons to, 'full TP from the first hit in an attack round, 1 TP there after. Mobs get TP from you beating on them like before.'
I can't even think of a response to this.Originally Posted by Falaras

I've thought for a long time that each hit on a multihit weapon or a multihit ws should do half of the TP gain of the previous hit. Exponential decay ftw.
And lmao @ saying SAM is no more broken than other 2hers
