New WAR ability means more merits/easier merits. Nothing else.

    Exactly.

War/No sub is kind of naked, this will give us something to cover our balls with, and my balls appreciate it.

Having a light based sleep on RDM would be pwn. I wonder if I'd finally be able to sleep fucking hectaeyes in dynamis?

Although I don't relish the idea of buying an Apollo's Staff
Won't need to- RDM will be the new top dog of DD and Scholar will just Reposga.

Sleep is Enfeebling, not Dark, so I'm guessing Repose would be Enfeebling, as well.

I think I'll see the biggest benefit of this on RDM/WHM. I hate when my sleep timers are all down.

Bonus points if its a light-based sleep. My RDM could use that.
yeah it's a WHM job adjustment but fuck making it any useful for WHMs, tack it on their C enfeebling instead of their A+ divine, and make it subbable instead of exclusive.

Skill is important but not the defining factor. If the spell has a high enough inherent magical acc (hi2u Stun), then the skill level is not as crucial.

There's an easy way to avoid abusing Repose via whm sub as well; they could do to Repose the same thing they did to Stona to leave WHM a bit of usefulness... make it available after Lv37. After all, most jobs' "defining" abilities & spells tend to be introduced once they're past the subjob levels, do they not?

    Re: JOB ADJUSTMENTS

Just make Repose available pre-37, and Repose II post-37. Red Mages get a Light-based sleep spell to play with and White Mages get an exclusive spell, everyones happy.

I know they never said there would be two Repose spells, I just figure its the most practical solution. Whether or not SE would go for that is an entirely different story of course.

Stun - more than one job gets it on their main anyway, so fail.

Souleater - meh; However DRK is also known for their Absorb spells, and their better ones are after Lv37. Imagine all the blm/drk you'd see if absorb-int could be subbed... ditto melee/drk with absorb-dex (especially 2H)

Meditate - Granted; however, it looks like SE realized they made a mistake by making it available subbed, hence the nerf.

Provoke - Does not define warrior; Berserk & Warcry would have been better examples, tbh. However, they're not good enough to "break" a job by subbing them

SATA - Once again, SE realized they screwed up & nerfed it for subs.

I'm sure you guys see where I'm going with this. Not all spells/abilities are job-defining; if they were, why have a subjob system in the first place?

lol SE meh you say? Main feature about DRK is SE, w/o SE we would just be gimp WAR/BLMs.

And if Abs-Dex was pre-37 it would be automatically fail for any melee to go /drk for it. Why? Because at difference from Stun, Absorbs do get RESISTED if you don't have enough skill.

Whoosh. I wasn't dissing the JA, I was conceding the point. About Absorb-DEX, do you think resists would stop gimps from trying anyway?

    Re: JOB ADJUSTMENTS

I find funny that regarding repose ppl thinks that is a cool addition to rdm/whm.
Its a new spell for making whms more viable incertain situations, so i doubt it will be subeable.
Its a interesting addition to WHM, rdms take enough of my invites/alliance spot as it is.. /emo.

I don't and you are honestly greatly confusing me. I don't when/if you are being sarcastic or not. Maybe it has something to do with my sleep deprivation.

Assuming this isn't sarcasm... They do. Just about every job is rather defined by level 30 or 35. I can't think of any job that isn't.

Off the top of my head, I'd say RDM is not 'defined' until they reach 40 and start learning Convert and Refresh. Up till then, they are mediocre WHMs or BLMs who can enfeeble. You can also say the same about SMNs since they do not become true DDs until 70 and remain mediocre Whms most of their 1-69 career.

But again, what 'defines' a job is up to personal interpretation.

I would say their ability to emulate both BLM and WHM and have unique enhancing and enfeebling spells like Gravity, Dispel, and En-spell are enough to define a job. Refresh(and Convert) is a big portion of the job, but it isn't the only part.

It's not, thanks for making my point.

I'm really hoping it won't be available to RDMs to be honest, kinda feel the same way.
