I remember when ToAU came out, they talked about how we were getting a SMN in that expansion. Fast forward to today, no dice.


Speculation is great, but i'll stick with flat out skepticism because this is SE we are talking about.

While I'm not an active SMN, thanks to a lot of speculattion (a little OCD) and personal vice in FF games.
I've been considering with the new monster families appearing in the WotG expansion, I find it odd that no one considered Fairy as a new Summon.
Sure it would be a throwback to FFIV (or even FFIII), and there is a server named after the old school summon... then again it could just be a wild speculation on my part.

Each server's summoners should get their own unique avatar. For those servers named after avatars we already have, you can have stuff like Atomos, Ixion, Cactuar, Typhon, Kirin, Doomtrain, etc.

Unfortunately, that means some servers are screwed as some server's avatars are a little more badass than others.

On the other hand, you could server hop and collect a new avatar every 90 days.

Looking at the videos from fanfest, it seems like the cocktease announcement was actually a misunderstanding/miscommunication on the part of the attendees. They say during job adjustments that they'll announce more on a new SMN avatar later on. Then later during the random misc. facts discussion they do make that announcement, and it's that theres not one but more than one avatarS. Then they very plainly say they're not allowed to say anything more about it yet. Jan. update I guess...

It would be lol for Seraph, Fairy, and Unicorn.

It would be a total win for Bahamut.
