therefore we're only gettin 70 max this update i think

Gobbiebag quests Part VII and Part VIII have been added.
These quests will become available after fulfilling certain conditions, and allow players to carry even more items in their all-new gobbiebags!
Players must complete all previous gobbiebag quests before the new gobbiebag quests will become available.

Don't post nonsense without looking please
There is no nonsense. One is possibly correct in saying that we get 80 because that what was shown at the FanFest (10 inv per quest), the other is correct because of how it was in the past (5 inv per quest).

So neither are right or wrong. But im banking on 70 for now, and 80 soon to follow.

    Well that's not too bad.

10 bucks on deathstones and angelstones rising 1000% in price in the next 24 hours though.

I don't see how that can be possible unless the attribute bonuses have gone below 2:1.
It could be possible if they bumped the damage calculations for 2H down, meaning 1H was left with the wider range still, but I'm doubting its the case rly
could also be the case if they roll back the changes far enough but leave several of the 'weakened' ws as-is ('sup guillotine) which would basically put drk etc behind where they were originally.

and warrior is still warrior. (and getting more abilities!) I guess this is SE taking revenge for all those years of 'war is subjob only' or something hah.

overall I'm pretty pleased with the updates. I'm hoping the nerf isn't too bad- but if it is; meh. more time for doing new jobs I guess.

And checking FFXIAH for Fenrir, I see that there's one up for 40k. Expect those prices to quadruple here within the next few hours... <sigh>

Re: The Version Update Has Arrived! (11/19/2007)

I don't completely understand why they are taking away once again the 1:1 ratio on STR/ATT and DEX/ACC for 2 handers. I can understand how that contributed to break Samurai and, possibily, Dark Knight (at least up to a certain degree), but I don't think it broke Great Axe Warriors and Dragoons, did it?

By taking away the 1:1 ratio for ALL jobs they are doing the same mistake they did by adding it to ALL jobs. They wanted to balance 2 handed weapons, and mainly Warrior and Dragoons were the ones in need of it, not DRK and especially not Samurais.
They should have made Job Specific Grips with very powerful stats, carefully chosen, to balance these jobs.
Instead they went the 1:1 rate, rightfully enhancing some jobs, but breaking others. Now they take it away and we're back to the start.
Even if now the rate is 1:0.75 it's still the same, Samurai will get a greater advantage than Dragoon and Warrior (great axe), that won't solve the "balance" issues of these jobs.

Maybe I'm just being too anal, I don't know. I don't even have a 2 hands job, but I wish they could have gone a more subtle and specifically addressed way, rather than such major changes which are sure easier to make on their side, but which do not solve problems on our side.

Hope the OS (Windows) can take care of that.... normally when you hit PrintScreen a snapshot of your full desktop is taken and stored in RAM, a simple copypasta in any image editing preogram and you're done.

Not sure if that can be disabled by software.
It can be disabled. Run a copyrighted DVD in Windows Media player and trying taking a screenshot of it with Print Screen, you get a screen shot of WMP showing nothing but black.

Err... part of the patch info says that the attribute modifier for 2-handed weapons changed. Given they were going to nerf this, I can't exactly imagine it going up. This was like THE key to the weapon changes... honestly I don't give a damn if they went back to the original dmg calculators so long as they left this intact. Fail. I know someone theorized they might have slightly raised the calculations, but I'd be very surprised. Welcome back to everyone begging for war/nins.

As for the gobbiebags--ok I fail. I had originally written that MAYBE they'd have learned that the previous quests were nothing more than price-gouging orgies and given us some other conditions for it. Oh well.

FInally, thanks SE, for giving out a freaking ton of good info at fanfest, then not actually implementing any of it (except the nerfs). Why in gods name were they so specific about what most of the job changes did and the NOT implement them? Fail. It'd be nice to stop promising crap before it's designed. Good to know nerfing is a top priority versus content. So basically, we got our nerfs, RNG and WHM actually did get their new features... but past that nothing. So they're handing us the new expansion without actually coughing up what they thought were appropriate changes that could be of benefit (namely, tanking-related things... since they confessed being too lazy to make a new tank job).

SAM wouldnt really be getting a greater advantage because of the other part of the tone-down (see the big 3 adjustment). I'm guessing they're adjusting the STR modifiers on those WS to make the speed of TP gain balanced (or trying to)

Probably not in this update like a few other things. It listed all the other job specific changes.

Because Dex being 1:1 with Acc opened up a ton of equipment options and elevated gear like Askar and Ares from "lol, maybe for WS" to full-time awesome. This just forces us all back into wearing the same shit. It also keeps 2h from taking advantage of their higher damage weapons by piling on attack. Goodbye, merits on my Sam. Welcome back, War only.

From what you say, I get you don't remember what they announced in a news on POL first, and then at last fanfest? A lot of changes that never became reality, and most of the few which did, they came up in a very different form (Group 2 Merits).

Speaking of which... they mentioned Merits reworking long time ago for WotG, but I never heard any other info coming.
I hope they won't forget about it, I would apreciate a slightly higher upgrade limit in some category.
