I noticed there are poroggos in the dats for west sarutabara, where are they located? I was running around after campaign and didn't see any, maybe related to killing(or not killing) the toads?

Fought some 6000exp worth of Ignis Djinn in Jugner Forest [S], and seem to have figured out a pattern in the way this mob works. Essentially, hit it with a spell of the same element as the day, and it will go kaboom on the next time it does a WS, and it seems independent of TP.

Screenshots of Nocturnal Combustion following a nuke corresponding to day.

You cast Thunder IV, I presume?

I've ran around by the water there a number of times, and nothing but a bunch of toads. Tried killing them, but they just repopped as toads again. Maybe it's something like wamouracampa -> wamoura at zhayloam?

I thought BLM only had thunder spell

If it's true, that would be an interesting way to xp on SMN (edit: just realized it's what you did lol).

I've seen Toads but no Porrogos when doing the first Windy quests to join the Cobras. They were by the entrances to Horutoto. Four legs not two. Don't know if there were others.

    It'd be really good solo exp were it not for the fact that I've only been able to find one halfway decent camp, and it only holds two Djinns. Luckily they're 5min repops. Still means chains are limited to #4, and that requires pacing the kills too. Exp should be less stressful than imp soloing since these are not overcamped - yet. Kinda hoping to stumble across a better camp soon, but I'm not getting my hopes up. There's at least another brilliant but lower level camp for these in Vunkerl Inlet though, but those mostly con DC to 75. ; ;

I could swear I remember seeing T or higher Djinns somewhere deeper in Vunkerl when I took a wrong turn, but yeah, that could be awesome exp.

Oh man, if you could find VT Djinn's (I'm looking at YOU Xarcarbard), Smn+Mage duos, Bst+Mage duos, that could be bad ass.

Someone need to try with underleveled mage jobs to see if you can make them blow up.

if this is as repeatable as your tests show, this might be a very effective target for smns. simply use a nuke blp for that day's element and it blows instantly. it's too late for me to test that tonight, but i invite others to give it a shot if you get a chance before me.

Blm/Bst, Rdm/Bst, Sch/Bst, Bst/Rdm (can't believe we overlooked Bst/Rdm which is actually a fairly useful combo anyway) and the like.

Bst/Rdm would be amazingly sweet there, Gaudy+Sigil Refresh=endless MP pool basically, only problem is lacking RR, but earrings help that.

I'm doing this now as BST/RDM in Vunkerl Inlet and it works fine. Though I don't see any T Djinns at K-6 like a previous poster suggested. This would be *very* good exp a few levels lower than I am, but they're only decent to 75.

Edit:Seriously I'm killing like 3 bombs a minute. A bst would get 70-72 here very fast. Its even feasible that a lv 50ish bst could kill them with Carrion Marabous as pets.

Makes you wonder if those packs of them wouldn't be bad to do in the bottom of the Necropolis. AoE elemental effects like Thunderspark = boomga?

Edit: They're only EP, but if you're detonating an entire room's worth at once...

    Re: Monster discussion

another thought: what if a job were to build a super strong dark magic resist setup to consistently resist their combustion? granted, you'd lack a barspell, but that's possible to overcome. then just run around casting t1 nukes and causing the bombs to explode. whm/blm with fully merited shell5, stoneskin, etc, could ga an entire room into oblivion in 10 seconds and likely survive if they had a proper resist setup.

Edit: also, stolin, i'm a 66 bst atm and very curious about how effectively i could duo w/ a buddy there. what's the pos of the djinn? also, are there other camps that are viable in other zones? i know jugner has 1 djinn on the way to inlet near the downs entrance. are there others in that zone too that you know of? since they've been sighted in inlet, jugner, downs, and necro, but nowhere else that i know of, i think it's a safe guess that they're primarily if not exclusively in the sandy arm of the world.

Gonna try this tonight on NIN with Ninjitsu and see if that works.
If it does... Hi2u solo merits outside of campaign.

    Re: Monster discussion

I was killing them at J-6/K-6 using tigers/dire bat as pets. The tiger is probably too high level for you, but the dire bat(yea theres only one =[) near all of the Djinn may be just right. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you and your friend could duo there. Try having one of you use the bat and the other a bird. They seem to explode very fast after using the appropriate spell so I wouldn't worry about having to exchange pets during fights.
