no they don't, they lay bombs using that animation, you probably attacked it before it could finish.Originally Posted by Karbuncle

It was jumping when carbuncle smacked it. :O
Pretty cool though, Thanks
I've completed S&A III without ever even attempting S&A II.Originally Posted by Ratatapa

Does anyone know if Djinns are less likely to Self destruct on Darksday or something?
I got a couple of lvl 50ish Bsts and showed them what looked to be a nice little camp just outside of the old KRT zone in E. Ron [S]...
Cept the damn bombs WOULD NOT GO BOOM.
They both threw a total of like 18 mobs at 3 bombs, not one exploded.
Camp would be workable if you could throw 2 or 3 mobs and reliably get a blast... having to cycle through 6 pets is possible, but retarded.
I'll go out on War/Bst later (my Bst is a little too low to reliably charm colis/ladybugs if they pop T *45*) and chuck some at Djinns on non-firesday to see whats up.
Thought I'd found a nice little alternative to the Gate 2 GC camp for 50ish, and it would be somewhat viable from 45-46 if you didn't have to throw half the damn zone at em.
they nerfed those bombs i thought
unless i dunno wtf i'm talking about. not a bst. i remmber it saying something like djinnn no longer will blow up as easy
you used to be able to trigger a combustion nearly at command by hitting a djinn with a nuke of the same element as the day (eg stone on earthsday) but they patched it so they now just use SOME tp move. this doesn't affect their normal selection of TP moves though.Originally Posted by shaddix
Yeah, but they should still blow up randomly.
Watching them go through 6 freaking pets and finally die from being bludgeoned to death, not blowing up, with three bombs...
Kinda unbomblike.
same behavior i always saw out of bombs; they just won't blow up when you want them to. dolls too. there's a reason i avoided them. that and the fact that my squishy taru ass doesn't take kindly to explosions.Originally Posted by Max™
I've done a fair bit of leveling on Bombs on Bst, and never seen three bombs chew through nearly 20 pets total and not blow up.
That is really ridiculous, ask most anyone who's leveled in Garlaige Basement or Gusgen Basement.
guess my luck just sucks. i'll buy that. still, remember that djinn have an awful lot more tp moves to choose from than a bomb. a bomb can either berserk or it can explode, at least in the classic zones. djinn have twice as many moves at 4, which may reduce the odds that they explode significantly.Originally Posted by Max™
Did a trio with 32DNC/NIN, 33DNC/NIN and 32 BRD/WHM. I brought my 75BLM/WHM PL Mule.
Target monster were the Savanna Dhalmels in West Sarutabaruta.
At first, I died a couple times due to Double attack -> Stompings. I switched to Taru RSE instead of evasion and let the mithra DNC tank a bit more.
Target monsters were IT-T for most part until we hit 34 and the monsters were all Tough. Lev33 seemed to be the best area
The djinns don't seem as obligingly explodey as other bombs do - however we got about 3 levels of them post-nerf as BST/RDM spamming nukes/bio/dia on the relevant days to force TP spam and pray for nocturnal combustion.
Saw this in a campaign the other day, didn't think of it when I first saw Ladybug tp move list but this BST had a Ladybug pet in Jugner and it used amnesia on Conqueror Bagkodek. A little limited in use right now but if they ever make a Ladybug/Slug jugpet and/or make mobs worth camping in wotg and/or make ladybugs/slugs appear in the present that could make things interesting.
And random sprite thoughts: I wonder if when they add nms they'll make a sprite nm. If you wiped to it would it then raise you? Will they put nms near sprites? Could make for an interesting twist on grief tactics: party brings nm to sprite; opposing groups claim/kill the sprites.
Ladybug/Slug jugs would be nice.
Odds are we'll get Colibri and Leech jugs finally since they both show up in WoTG, and that will be their excuse.
I was really hoping for a Puk jug pet with ToAU just to have a Dragon-type jug pet.
Hey BG - this is my first post so be nice!
I've found one of the new NM's - its called Kirtimukha, its a rafflesia mob probably about lvl 60, easily soloable as MNK/NIN 75.
It spawns at I-10 on the outside map of Fort Karugo-Narugo, no drop unfortunately ; ;
So... I don't suppose theres anyway SE would be kind enough to have Khroma Quadav drop their namesake.
Still no Sandworm dorp.

Dyinyinga spawns NW of the lake at J-9 in Rolanberry.
Gheyest fucking NM I've ever fought. It constantly tries to center itself on you so you can't see it and inflicts Amnesia, Silence, and Slow when it rubs up against you. In addition to the Bio 3, Def Down, Att Down, stripped naked and can't wear anything, Gravity, etc status ailments all the normal Slug moves inflict.
I haven't heard of anyone getting a drop off it yet.
Well, we just dropped old world pallas.. stingy bastard...
Attempt #1 5 75bst.. don't try it..
Attempt #2 7 75bst.. wouldn't recommend it, possible, but a lack of strong pets makes it difficult.
Attempt #3 6 75bst nin whm drg.. ok, this might have worked but a bad paralyze by the tiger pets got us
Attempt #4 5 75bst nin whm rdm drg ok, this one worked very well
He has 3 pet tigers, all seem to be DC-EM in strength. These must be kited as he will respawn the instant they die. He hits like a ton of bricks, smacked me on nin for 350-450 a hit.
Basic strategy kite all three pet tigers (bst can easily kite these with one jug) pull Pallas to bridge at south where you can just straight tank him. Took us about a minute to bring him down. pld/nin or thf in evasion setup would probably work well on this but nin/war worked fine. Only warning is it only takes one shadow screw up for him to drop you fast. he power attack me for 900+. If your lucky the sprite will wonder through while you fighting him... all he did was raise us...
A party of 6 can probably take him down fairly easy with 3 kiters, tank, rdm or whm, and a dd/nin.
(edit, just checked log.. power attack was alot more then 600 damage)
