Yes. :/ Plus there seems to be more shorter ones. My first three hours of campaigning last night netted me less than 1K XP. ><Originally Posted by Max™

I was getting a little disgruntled last night with campaign ... Sat in Pashow for almost the full hour of a battle and saw 6 mobs + 1 NM and there were 3 NPC forces there so we had to intercept well away from the fort if we didn't want them to die instantly.
After the hour in Pashow, I caught 4 end of battles in a row for 190xp each. Followed by standing in Rolanberry for 20 minutes without seeing any mobs (left early). Went to grauberg and spent 15 minutes for one wave of mobs where I pulled 2 off before they got to the tower and the rest got insta-shredded by the npcs at the tower.
Either something changed for the worse, or there are groups of people intercepting the mobs well before they get near the tower.
NPC's seem to be finding the mobs well before they get to the tower regularly, which is lamer than shit in my opinion.
It's one thing if the NPC's run off to find them.
It's another when the 2nd Legion warps to the oncoming Quadavs and decimates them before they reach us.
I'm suprised.. I think last night is the first time I consistantly had fun and got over 600xp/notes every time over the course of about 10 campaigns
Not only that, but I managed to do it on BST/NIN!
Friend of mine cosistently gets around the same exp I do War/Sam when he is Bst/Nin, he's a bit more survivable in some situations, so he can stay up and make up for my downtime.Originally Posted by Delekii
When I stay standing I generally pip him by 500-600 just from my spam, but all in all Bst/Nin is a nice ass combo, now with pets being counted he should make me work to beat him.
I'm not sure about other servers, but Eldieme, Citadel, and CN are really suffering from the lack of teleportation service. No one Campaigns there, except maybe 2-3 people if you're lucky. I've been camping Eldieme and most of the time I'm the only person in the zone. SE has a death wish, of sorts, for these zones it seems.
Is anyone else having pashow marshlands campaigns take forever because of one or two mobs lagging behind the rest by like 10-20 minutes on the way to the fort?
i personally havent been having any problems so far usually 1k exp + every fight, especially not in pashow, thats been my favorite as of late. I try and defend CN when i can but yeah on pandy all three indoor zones starting to go down hill
Necropolis is actually a quick zonein from Rolanberry. Crawler's from Pashow. Garliage I think is the worst off to get to, but it's also one of the best defended by NPC's (and fun to fight in as a result).Originally Posted by Lujei
Do other servers exhibit more teamwork than Garuda? :[
When I do campaign the players seem to cluster together and watch helplessly at mobs beating on our tower until I finally pull one, then they /assist me. They're perfectly happy to let me tank every mob, but it's kind of frustrating to see the WHM and PLD feeding enemy TP that eventually wears me down and kills me, without a single Haste or Cure in sight (they know they aren't getting weapon skillups right?)
I guess I should just bring my blood bolts and pull the mobs away from other players--at least I can regulate TP that way.
Here's my mindset:Originally Posted by Loren
As a mage I have to kraken everything. I help heal the person it's on if there are few people there (3/4 or less on that mob), but that is the only way for a blm to get points that doesn't involve sleepgaing everything (and then losing AN because you die). Trying to win is great but if I'm not getting points then I won't want to go at all.
It varies. Sometimes the teamwork is really good, with people sleeping, curing, training bad stuff away, etc. all over the place. Sometimes people just continually do stupid shit like nuke a mob and run circles around the fortification with it while a bunch of melee try to chase it down, or the aforementioned staring into space, etc. I decided to do some Ops and battles on THF/NIN yesterday, since I only ever got a 10k buffer for it (I don't get called to use it for LS stuff). Ugh, much rougher than BRD/WHM, especially if you land in an "unhelpful" situation. I don't know how a THF is supposed to keep hate off a bunch of other DDs just by meleeing...my gear seriously doesn't own that much (I was mainhanding THF knife FFS; since I really only use THF to farm, all I have for it now is that and Sirocco). I'd get to use SA about once per fight and then that was it. At least people raised me, and I did see a haste one time.
Fun observation: whenever I stacked SA with DE on fortifications, DE did about twice as much damage. Possibly just getting lucky with triple attacks; I need to try that some more.
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but Striking Bull is quite possibly the most awesome general. He's a WAR in full adaman, but instead of meleeing, he stays at ranged attack distance and spams Mistral Axe.![]()
I was surprised too-- I should take some screenshots. I see strong people show up in the San d'Oria and Windurst regions, but Bastok defense force is basically Cardinal Vests as far as the eye can see, so 1 or 2 Triple spasms and my fate is sealed. See also: staff PLDs who don't use any magic or JA.I don't know how a THF is supposed to keep hate off a bunch of other DDs just by meleeing...
It's only frustrating because it's very close to being an exciting solo hobby, but when I spend so much time weakened I lose my enthusiasm--especially when I die to something like a series of 7-8 Impact Roars while a mouthbreather WHM is whiffing with his light staff right next to me. I'll bribe my Taru harem to come along next time.

Meh, I melee on WHM and do ok damage on top of it. I don't see why you wouldn't try to keep whoever has hate hasted and healed, though; that's just less points for less action. Evidentally most of the WHMs who play Campaign are retarded. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...men/emot-v.gif
I end up tanking mobs in the smaller battles as war and enjoy watching the mages go down one at a time immediately after they let me die^^
I enjoy the ones that take care of me a lot more though.
I generally can't win in campaign unless i go as blm and cast spells + melee with a kraken when i need to spam moonlight to get mp back faster.
if i go blu, i'm tanking.
if i go as thf, i'm tanking.
if i go drk, good luck on holding hate.
if i go war ppl are shit out of luck, i'm tanking.
Normally i don't have a problem with tanking but i've been in atleast 40 campaigns where i flat out died cause the whm next to me was meleeing and not trying to cure me or anyone else that had hate.
I go PLD/RDM alot and tank any mobs I fight. I can usually stay alive easy enough, unless a Yag Dooms me or hits me with Dark Invocation while I'm beat up. It's kinda sad how few mages do actually try to help cure the people tanking. I help cure everyone I can and still get high points everytime.
Think the most fun I have had was tanking the Quad nM that Hundred Fists. I didn't have Sentinel up and idk how I lived but I got off 3 Cure IVs during his SP to keep myself alive. Nobody else cured me.. I mean, the NM is whacking away at someone and nobody even tries to cure them?
It's really great the few times I do die because nobody cured me and the next thing I see is 5-6 people dropping to the floor after me. It's also kind of funny to watch everyone around you die and you be the last person standing. That Orc NM that spams Battle Dance destroyed everyone around him, except me. His moves barely did anything to me, took like 4-5 of them to break my Stoneskin but everyone else was dead and I was left soloing the last 40% of him.
I go as pld/nin all the time with some meh DD gear, but I usually end up tanking anything I touch even if I don't want to lol. Sometimes there will be a mage or two that heals me, but for the most part ya I save my MP to cure myself because I'm pretty sure no one else will.
I'll still raise people when I get the chance though. It would be nice if we got more points for raising people.
