So they're getting torn to bits and their morale is tattered, while San d'Orian units are taking damage but winning.
It also probably didn't help that a lot of people were running around doing SCH and DNC AF quests, getting spells, etc. yesterday when the butt-kicking started.

    Re: Campaign discussion

There's also some advantages for Sandoria in terms of Generals vs usual attackers. Ronfaure's dedicated General is the Female Elvaan with an Aegis, and one of the buffs she casts on herself is Phalanx. The usual attackers are Monks, so she can still pratically solo the entire wave. I came late to a fight and saw 4 normal mobs on her and the NM doing Hundred Fists, and she was at like 90% and her HP was barely moving.

The only other zone that Sandoria is doing very well on my server is Batallia, and that's because the attackers are BLMs. The NPCs can take any of the normal mobs because they tend to interrupt most of the spells. It takes a general to kill the BLM NM, just because it's impossible to interrupt him. But even if he gets to the fort, the damage done is very low compared to a melee mob. The fortifications are very spread out as well, so even ga spells only hits one.

All the other Sandorian zones are being lost on my server, only Vunkerl putting up something of a fight. Nouilaire is still pretty strong.

It'll actually be better next week when Sandoria loses Jugner I believe. They probably won't be able to attack La Vaule, which is currently destroying all the troops who attack, which kills morale and prosperity. Also by holding less zones, there will be more NPCs defending per zone. So the system is designed to be harder when more zones are controlled.

Do npc's respawn or is there a finite number to them? for ex: lets say there r 20 npc's that get sent off to jugner and only 5 come back. do those 15 that got killed respawn after a certain amount of time or do u need to do the escort quests to create new npc's?

It would be hard to track any units from battle to battle, but just counting the number of troops of the same unit in a few different battles might answer your question. If they do fluctuate, that would be interesting to know. Doing troop reinforcements could just serve to deploy units to outposts at a greater rate.

npc's in campaign now have more hp after the update. I'm at work but somebody needs to go see if its back to the same old - watch 3-4 npcs destroy everything in sight (who can now tank mobs). Or if the beasty armies r still tough enuff to crush npc's that dont have pc support. I was looking forward to see'ing a city atkd

WHAT, that's terrible. Now I'm going to have to rest as RDM, and that's crap.

Any info on these new Siege Turret/Belfry/Mantelet things? I haven't had a chance to log in since update yet to check things out. And have any of those trojan horse warmachines shown up yet? I'm guessing it'll be a while before they show up, to give time to the beastmen to develop their technology.
This has been fixed per todays update. /yay

Dark Kindred are more common, at least in Jugner I'm noticing. Saw a Taurus doom One of the NPC captains.

Well its kinda accurate in a way, the beastmen wrecked shit during the crystal war, it was only a few battles that we won, the battle of windhurst and the battle of xarcabard most noteably.

    Re: Campaign discussion

Campaign in the beastmen strongholds is pretty shit. The forts in La vaule and Beadaux are tediously far away. Beaduax much more so, it's way on the other side through a tunnel. If the zone had a damn ramp first thing it would make it a lot easier to access. And even then after you exit the tunnel you are forced right into the huge dearth of mobs bloating the fort. Not only that, but within there are regular beastmen sprinkled throughout the huge mob. Now add to this the fact that they evened out player and NPC enmity. It's a pretty dismal situation. If you are a mage and try to simply cure NPC's you will have a cluster of mobs coming for you when the NPC dies, and it will.

I suppose you could do something like pull a few off and train them till they deagro and get just one or two. It's still pretty risky seeing as how hardly anyone goes to these zones for campaign. I have been unable to locate these Mantle and Belfry things featured. They seem like they would be key to doing better, but I haven't had any success. On top of all of that there are no pixies, and these zones are just not worth campaigning in at all.

The one time I did Campaign in La Vaule, the NPCs attacked the fort @ K-9, that didn't seem that bad to get too.

    Re: Campaign discussion

It seems all the slaughtering of Yagudo in Castle Oz for various items has taken its toll on their war efforts on Lakshmi. Their morale is at 0 and prosperity at 50%. As a result, many of the Windurst territories are seeing their Forts being close to fully reinforced and regaining influence over the Beastmen. Quadav are on a similar, slower downturn, too. Orcs, on the other hand, are as powerful as can be, thanks to La Vaule being mostly useless. ;/

But I guess that's a trick, wholesale slaughter of the corresponding beastmen to diminish their campaign progress.

    Re: Campaign discussion

After rereading the old update info it seems the new campaign devices depend on level of technology. So if you are someone interested in seeing how the mantel/belfries perform (aoe healing to nearby players) try to vote for your nation to invest in technology. Who knows, it might make the beastmen strongholds bearable.

Edit: Now that i actually look at the choices, I'm not sure what would fall under "technology" as they called it. There's weapons production or development, or stronghold outfitting, shit is confusing.

    Re: Campaign discussion

I haven't read the last few pages of the thread, but I have a question (link to the page if it's been asked).

I'm doing Campaign in Meriphataud Mountains. Vaa Oozu and his scorpions were beating on the fortification, so I AoE Gravity'd them and ran away. I wasn't sure if the Scorps were sleepable, so I used Manifestation + Sleep. They all resisted, but they froze for a couple seconds, then turned and went back to the fortification and started attacking it. I stood there, waiting for them to remember I had been agitating them, but nothing happened. Any idea why they did that? This is the first time I've had a monster (leader or not) stop attacking me without a Campaign NPC/player attacking them or the enemy retreating.

    Re: Campaign discussion

The level of the fortifications is rising in some areas. I think it used to be out of 150 before the update, but in some places it's above that. I wonder if that's a glitch or if we get the new stuff when it hits 300 or something.

new campaign ops raise the max/current hp and also is anyone getting pissed off when it goes the "the campaign battle has ended" and there still mobs there and fort still has hp and no1 retreats?
edit: did SE change calculations or something cause one lasted hr and half @ vunkerl and I only got 2240 and I'm Holyknight emblem somehow this doesn't seem right giving exp/min cap for highest rank.

you mean holyknight emblem and I got good 12k exp + 7 Ops and wasn't offered rank up so don't think new ones were added.

No, there are no new ranks added. They changed the evaluation NPCs text though. It is mentioned now that you already have the highest rank when enough points for rank up have been made.

    Re: Campaign discussion

Someone in my ls pointed out today that it seems a nations Reconissance level affects the campaign system info. For instance Bastok has recon 4 and it displays zone wide unit deployment, generals who are injured, successful returns, as well as other nations deployments and return. In windurst they have recon level 8, it shows all of that but also when beastmen are forced to retreat as well.

Another thing, it seems like Grauberg is the new Jugner at least for this server. Waves of Campaign non-stop there.
