I have done exactly one Garliage campaign battle. It was maybe a month ago. I was there to do one of the Sandy [S] mission-quests and jumped into campaign while waiting for the rest of my party. I saw one person standing behind the fortifications whacking away, and later when I came back, she was dead. I assumed at the time she had reason to believe she was safe back there. Could be that someone dragged a mob too close and got her killed that way. If you were afk could be the same happened to you.

I've never tried campaign in the dungeons other than that. I prefer to jump around, but I guess if you want to stay in one zone, a dungeon zone might be at least as good as another.

Oh, Dungeons tend to give a better payout when it's busy.

Hopping from battle to battle for time-capped fights, vs completely uncapped fights where you can turn in at your leisure for maximum exp reward, weighed by the occasional half hour downtime between fights.

I was actively watching when the yags jumped me, I know they never did it before, as I've practically lived in Garlaige [S] back when WoTG came out... first time back in there and I guess they changed the behavior so they link with the fort even if they don't aggro you directly?

I remember in one of the updates they changed it so that if you were attacking a fortification, any nearby beastmen would aggro you, even if you were technically outside of their detection range.

Usually in Garlaige, everyone is camped behind the fort in the room just to the left as you come in since that first room is where the Martyrs (the zone's home group) get dispatched to. Typically it's all fine and dandy and you can go afk because nothing goes in there, but so help you if you're not there when the Ronin get dispatched. Then you can walk in and find about a dozen dead people all clustered behind the fort.

Anyone understand how to get auroal alicorn to team up with your nation? I seem to always be the only person out of any nation on odin to go cure him to full (I'm allied with Sandy in the past by the way. However, I haven't seen him in action yet T_T. May be I am just missing where he appears and fights. But iono. I really wanna see him fight :XD

I've had trouble finding him when he was allied, only seen him pop up once in Sauro.

I don't often do the afk-attacking forts in Garlaige, only if I start a battle, mobs aren't up, and I get called away. If you move anywhere in Garlaige with tags on, sneak/invis, drop/recast at the doors. The mob generals haul ass through the tunnels and SUCK to have catch you, since you ain't getting raised.

If beastmen owned I generally just pull leechkeepers to the spots where campaign mobs don't go, grab shit like Martyrs off the edges of the groups when the imps are dead, and laugh when Ronin pop to rape people at the second fort.

If Windy has it, I usually start heading down towards the basement the instant the fight arrives, since it's going to last long enough to solo 3 or 4 mobs usually, better to wait for them to pass you on the way down and pull one into one of the safe tunnels to kill it, so you're closer to the basement when you want to go grab your second/etc.

    Response to Eternalsnow:

I'm infatuated with the freelancers so I tend to influence them and check on them a lot so mainly Windurst has most of them on our server. It seems to be around 12 trades/cures/chats for the freelancers to have it move influence from say almost definitely bastok to most probably bastok, if you were another nation that is. So another 12 influences to get it to go from most probably bastok to most probably windurst/sandoria and then another 12ish to almost definitely.

I found out last week that "most probably" can cause the freelancer to go independent if aligned and it's not enough influence if it's independent.

As with most Freelancers, you need to zone after doing the required action. You don't cure AA to full in one sitting, but cure him once (You get the message that he neighs contently or something) and then you zone, and repeat. Each time you cure + zone, you gain influence. If you have a lot of AN's you can go WHM, recall Jugner, chocobo to it, drop a Cure V, recall Jugner and repeat.

Windy on my server tends to get AA a lot, and it's a very interesting Freelancer that does AoE regen and a number of other moves.

Also, if your nation has access to Maruna-Kurina, he will have information on where the freelancers are and who they are aligned with.

Do you refresh your tags after every 10~15 minutes or do you just let it go the entire battle?

Would depend on the level/what you're doing.

If you aren't dealing/take/curing a lot of damage, you cap the other categories fast and may as well refresh tags.

I have a question about controlling the Allied Force NPC to invade a zone.
As usual I would pull mobs and leave them somewhere safe on the NPC's way from where they come from to make sure they engage mobs one by one. Sometimes it is hard to keep all the NPCs under control and a few bravery ones would run down to a pile of mobs by the forts. All the NPCs act like if they are sharing hate, the major group would finish up one mob and not target the next one near them, instead, they would run down to the forts to join those suicidal NPCs ahead. My question is, do they really share hate and how do I avoid this situation of all the NPCs charging down the enemies when there is one next to them for fight?

I'm betting on Shadowsoul just being one the little soul/skull thingies that come with dvergar.

How are these 2 new zones going to be relevant to the campaign conquest? Think there will be any rewards for controlling the areas? They just seem out of place.

Shadowwing is pretty terrible. He uses some AoE that does roughly ~1200 dmg and spams tier1 ga spells.

Looks like PLD is Campaign king's once again, at least in the Northlands.

Mobs are absolutely brutal and basically every job risks to get oneshot from some aoe move anytime.

Not even RDM is safe, since Dahaks in Xarcabard love to spam Nullsong.
