    Re: Campaign discussion

    Soooo I've been sitting in Campaign in Eldieme for literally the last four hours, the Fortifications have gone down somewhat, but the campaign battle hasn't ended, probably isn't GOING to end, it's fricking NPC Aery at the place where the NPC that gives the last piece of the map for the quest is, and... does anyone actually KNOW how to make the fucking poundy drum campaign battle -end-? Is it just totally random? Does it keep going on until you do something? I've seen an initial wave of orcs, then those all seemed to die, then there was a Kindred that summoned around ten elementals, then there was a Floating Eye that summoned a bunch of gnats, then a Gnole that had guards... and now there's another 20 minutes of sitting around waiting for things to do. >.>;

Everyone else I know, doing 'outdoor' Campaigns, has seen them last about 20 or 30 minutes tops then end. This one's been going on for FOUR HOURS. Go figure that it's in a zone with the map NPC?

Edit : Reading earlier posts seems to imply that we just keep losing Campaign over and over again, it seems as though now there's the Gnoles -and- the original wave of orcs at the same time, I tried sleepga'ing but something's going on whereby anything I sleepga automatically wakes up half a second after and completely rapes me. -_-; Logging for now, hopefully when I logon tomorrow there won't be campaign gong on...

there was definately a group of elvaan gun rangers @ rolanberry campaign earlier... funny thing was, they were wearing rdm af. also the NPC general was using coronach. it was quite a sight. so far im loving campaign, seems like a great way to get xp if you dont have a lot of time. you can just head out to where one is happening, join in the fun, and get a couple k xp in minutes. i know on ramuh tonight there was @ least 4 going on at all times. good shit.

Shadowfang and his 10 Dark Elemental minions are definitely the hardest i've ran in to so far. They just rip everything apart while rampaging the halls of Garlaige @_@

Shadowhorn the Taurus and his 20+ Gigas soldiers are pretty terrible too. Good ol' Warchief Vatgit is insane as well... his evasion is just insane and he hits really hard. Shadowhand and the terrible waves of shadows are just bad, with spamming -ga3 and the NM using Earth Crusher for 1200+ AoE.

PS: The Windurstian army in Sarubaruta owns, I hate to say. So many ga3s and helix spells going off it's insane.

Is it safe to say that the West Sarutabaruta[S] outpost is the most efficient way to gather Allied Notes? I've been trying to gather them at different locations, but I can never seem to find the enemy troops running around.

    Re: Campaign discussion

The Campaign Regional Map updates its status extremly slow, it will show areas in combat that are not currently active and show areas inactive where i am already engaged /w NM's and ><

Also for the moment /WHM if your not already WHM main for free reraise while doing/experimenting w/ campaign fights seems like a really good idea.

    Re: Campaign discussion

Sorry if some of this is repeat information, this is what I managed to figure out.

    Rewards info:

    - There is no XP Bonus for being in an area controlled by your home nation
    - If you aren't in your nation's territory you get half the amount of allied notes you would normally get (NOT correct, but a good general rule to follow)
    - You can still reach the cap of 600 notes in foreign-controlled areas, you just have to do enough work to have received 1200 notes

    - The cap on Xp and Notes is 600
    - Performance Assessment seems more damage oriented and less-support oriented than Besieged
    - Cap is on a specific instance of Allied Tags, not per a particular battle

    NPCs

    - During a fight NPCs will show up from the defending or attacking nation.
    - If defending they will spawn at the area to be defended and patrol around it a short distance
    - If attacking they spawn at a certain point a ways off and then path to the battlefield
    - When they engage the enemy, they will fight until the enemies are defeated/run away
    - The Music will end in defending situations when the enemies retreat or die, ending the attack, then the defenders will warp
    - When attacking, NPCs will remain after the enemy army is wiped out to attack fortifications for a few minutes before then warping
    - Reward is not based on keeping them alive
    - Most NPC waves will come with a unit commander who has a special name
    - These commanders generally have and use a relic weapon!
    - NPCs do not seem to heal or buff you ever
    - All NPCs have no enmity accumulation, if you're the only player fighting and you attack one target, all will link onto you.
    - Potential Bastokan NPCs: Gold Musketeers, Iron Musketeers, Legionaires, Elivira (spelling? - RNG with Relic Gun), Invincible Shield, Some Named Scholar
    - Potential San d'Orian NPCs: Silver Fox Archer, Norvallen Knights, Aragoneu Knights, Excalibur NPC, Aegis NPC

    Finding the Battle

    - If the music is going on that means there's a battle coming or occuring
    - The battles always occur in the same general area in the zone
    - If it's an area that has an outpost in present-day, then that is where the fortification being defended generally is
    - There is always a Campaign Arbiter nearby the battle area, but sometimes not right at it (small walk, less than 2 minutes)
    - It's best not to scout for enemies, but instead wait at the fortification, they can and will come from multiple paths
    - If you're attacking, follow the NPCs if you can find them, otherwise just meet them at the fortifications
    - Can sometimes take awhile for enemies to spawn and then arrive at the spot, but never more than 30-45 minutes, and generally much less than that.
    - It's best when finding a fight NOT to use the campaign map, it updates slowly, just go into a zone you feel like defending or attacking and wait by the battle area.

    Misc
    - Fortifications seem to repair themselves slightly when battles aren't going on
    - Normal monsters seem slightly weaker than the Besieged mobs
    - NMs are much weaker than they are in Besieged
    - Mob waves will scale to the amount of people taking place in the battle (or in the area?), it's possible for the same monster wave to respawn and attack again within the same battle (lolrr)
    - Amount of NPCs also seems to scale as well
    - You can buy a few temporary items sometimes (possibly only when defending your allegiance's areas?)
    - Allied Tags save you from XP loss but inhibit non-Campaign Battle XP Gain (probably already known by 99.9% of people who read this)
    - Monsters in a particular wave for the most part seem to be of one job, they also seem to 2 hour most of the time
    - Battles happen relatively quickly, at least once an hour generally

    Potential Enemies (no Mindartia data)
    - Shadowhand (Demon) + Dark Elementals
    - Shades
    - Something Headhunter + Bodyguards
    - Dismemberment Brigade
    - Clan Reaper
    - Poisonhand Ganash (spelling)
    - Other Orc/Quadav groupings
(Note, attacking NMs are often much stronger versions of NMs that exist in the present)

    Theories
    - Quicker you kill the defending enemy when attacking and the more NPCs left alive, the more damage that's done to enemy fortifications before the NPCs warp
    - Bringing the fortifications to 0 begins to lower resources (?)
    - Morale/Prosperity are linked to the overall outcome of Campaign the previous week, not individual battles
    - Jeuno CA's are replaced with nation-specific NPCs when the area is controlled by nations, Jeuno CAs only appear if the area is controlled by Beastmen

Decided to test on WHM a little.

Dia'd a mob so I had threeish on me (stupid idea). I engaged with earth staff and swung a couple times, got about 4 Cure V's off on myself, died and reraised. I assessed and got 600 EXP with 325ish notes. Running around Cure IIing other NPCs for 40-100 after that only got me about 35 EXP, so it's kinda weird. <_>

Cure V and Raises are decent points. Dieing also yeilds a decent point bonus.

    Re: Campaign discussion

The fact that you get rewards for dying kinda' confirms my hunch that the system is glitched right now. The NPC that gives you tags specifically says that dying drastically lowers your rewards, and people are getting a maximum reward after dying and doing nothing following it.

    Re: Campaign discussion

Just a few more pieces of information~

If you make use of the Campaign Map and the Campaign Arbiters, you can rack up points extremelly fast by teleporting to an area where Campaign is currently active. The map does update slowly(maybe every 10 minutes), but if you are checking frequently while doing Campaign and take note of the area that was last added to the list, you'll rarely have a bust(teleporting to an area where Campaign just ended).

After the Campaign first starts in an area(When the music turns on), there seems to be a 20-30 minute wait before the first wave attacks. I believe this is intentional so that people who are interested in doing Campaign will have time to reach the Campaign platform before the action begins.

A single Campaign event can be more than just the initial wave. It seems to take about 10 minutes between waves, the most I've seen is four.

Mages can rack up points during downtime by converting their HP away, curing, and repeating or doing similar actions. I haven't figured out exactly how many points you get for curing but I'm confident you could get 600/600 while waiting for the next wave to come. For example, I received 20 limit points and 11 allied notes for Cure IVing myself for 229 HP. A friend of mine reported getting 40 limit points and some allied notes for cycling through a single round of Barspells on five people.

When the allied forces have control over an area, it seems like the number of NPCs you recieve to assist you is based on the fortifications your army has in that area.

When the allied forces have control over an area, I'm almost certain killing normal beastmen raises your fortification level. A friend and I were duoing Quadavs in Crawler's Nest [S] for around 30 minutes and were able to raise the fortification level from 18 to 28.

Campaign mobs don't always link. I was able to pull a Yagudo off the pack in Meriphataud Mountains [S], after which we battled for a good 30 minutes or so. I kept exchanging tags throughout the fight and racked up about 5000 experience points.

    Re: Campaign discussion

Are you sure there can only be a maximum of four waves? C-Ops in Eldieme [S] seem to last longer than four. It's going on right now and I've seen four different waves already and music is still going. Could it be that they only leave until a certain % of their force has been defeated?

    Re: Campaign discussion

I don't think that's a maximum, that's just the most consecutive waves I've seen. Eldieme, CN, and Garlaige seem to be bugged in that Campaign just goes on forever sometimes with nothing happening.

Yeah I've been waiting for the NPC w/ everyone in Eldieme. Doesn't seem like it's going to end at all.

A quick, minor point about Sigil that I noticed--it has the same "resting doesn't take TP" benefit as Signet, and it has this automatically without needing to buy any extra enhancements (when I tested it out, I had no Allied Notes to buy any enhancements with).
