problem is, it's not gonna get pt invites over whms or rdms without haste or refresh, so far i'm tossing this job into the SMN boat...
Unless there's a huge influx of new Manaburn camps. I might be asking for alot but, if your designing a job that can heal make it effective enough of a support that it can compete at an equal level.

They can if they sub RDM. Along with Stoneskin... just like the presentation that should do doing both and subbing RDM. Sorry SCH/WARs, looks Scholar is a mage job!

What pisses me off is that was exactly the type of shit they showed to get people excited about the job, even subbed. Stupid, just like SMN, this jobs going to be largely dependent on its sub.

The lack of -na spells would encourage /WHM, but I get the feeling they will be better off /RDM when not main healing.

EDIT: Phalanxga with /RDM Stoneskinga too. Poor SMN.

EDIT: My only disappointment is the lack of status effect curing spells, even if it was less than the amount RDM or WHM have. A Poisona, Paralyna, and Silena would have been good.

too bad accession is 40. I was really looking forward to hastega.

I'm starting to wonder if SE is really trying to obsolete whitemage as healers (most of the things whitemage has been getting lately have been support type things: stronger barspells, stronger shells, a mainjob crowd control; etc. and not stuff to extend their endurance as healers - which is the primary reason redmages are more popular/efficient in activities where endurance is more important than cure-bombing)

it'll be interesting to see where whm and rdm end up in another year or two with respect to healer and enhancing roles.

I think they want to let players have more than one or two choices for healers in the same way you have many choices for DD.

extremely potent DoT spells that increase based on the weather of the area if the appropriate element spell is cast.

I can only hope you're right. Or maybe SE didn't add all the spells that Scholar will be able to use yet by mistake. I mean, after that whole Nation Standing thing for the Crystal War Event, it is possible...
