maybe that explains why the scholare lost stoneskin from switching from white to black grimoire in the demo at JP fanfest, since stoneskin is only a spell scholar can use dureing white grimoire. We will see

For 280+ MP, these Helix things have got to be sick.
That's gonna suck endgame;;Originally Posted by Damane

For them to stand up to anything else, they have to be literally ~50hp/tick and last at least a minute and 30 seconds.Originally Posted by Therin
Oh, and have a lower resist rate would be nice too.
1min30s of 50hp/tick dot -> 1500dmg unless my on the fly math sucks
I really want to know how many charges they have. Also, if subjob spells follow the same rule as grimoire spells.
if I read it right, 3 charges. 1 at 10, 2 at 40, 3 at 70.
So much for it being a good subjob for BLM. Loses Stoneskin, Blink, and either Gravity and Dispel, or -na spells. And gains... Regen II.
Any ideas what level they get the JAs?
depends.. if they get stoneskin from a sub it should be ok, and if it isn't its a severe limitation and should definately be changed.Originally Posted by Ixidor

Nice level related post on POL

looking at the lvl 65 ability
Modus Veritas (Level 65)
Increases damage done by helix spells while lowering spell duration by 50%.
Can you say faster forced landings on Tiamat^^
speculating that it is at 50hp/tick though and at least 90s, this can be every useful.

agreed, they brought this job up as having tremendous subjob possibilities for WHM RDM and BLM, so far its mediocre for healing, since you can't aga cures, and w/o defence no BLM will use it.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised if Scholar makes good use of Magic Acc gear like Goliard. Yigit will be nice nuking gear assuming they don't get access to Morrigan's. But they do get access for Vermillion Cloaks, those things will be popular forever.

How dissapointing :\
This was advertized as the SAM SJ of mage jobs, and well, they lose access to a lot of good spells.
as Rdm, as main healer, I need all my -na spells at a whim . So unfortunately I'll still be going /whm to my parties unless of course nothing in WotG causes status effects.
In dynamis I think this would be nice, graviga / paralyga / slowga to the 5 mobs that just got pulled.
I had my heart set on taking this job to 75.. now not so much, lol. I guess it's now only the ultimate White Mage subjob.
I am. What is the .dat list then? I thought it was all the spells that can be learned by Scholar. Are these extras or? I'm confused. ._.Originally Posted by Gilanth

I find it really funny so many people got so hyped up with this list, but now say the job is worthless even though they have no idea how the job is going to work to begin with.
so if they can change the weather, does that mean all weather based equipment will be active during specific changes? i.e. obis
I read the first couple of pages and skimmed the rest, but if these abilites stack couldn't you do:
Rapture > Accession > (Insert Spell) to something such as a Reraise II effect since it would up the Raise spell to Raise II? Or did I totally miss something and it doesn't work like that at all?
*edit for better wording*

Why would they purposefully have you demo with spells you aren't going to have? What's the point of displaying a job to learn about it and what it can do if you are being fed false information while playing?
Again, i want to see in-game. I'm not gonna call it one way or the other yet, but something about this just doesn't add up.
