Did a little research...
Turns out that the SCH at the FanFest was definately a 75 SCH/RDM and that's why they had Blink/SS. Even when she used Light Arts, none of the respective WHM spells that could have appeared showed up (i.e. Erase, -nas, curegas). There is still many opportunities to use each sub for great benefits (just like RDM coincidently lol) however.
I think the only issue I have with the job now is how effective SCH/BLM and BLM/SCH can truly be without some form of blink and stoneskin, especialy since they can get all ga2s using Manefestation.
BLM/SCH is going to be more pointless than Rambus' BLM/SMN without some form of Damage mitigation no two ways about it.
If DOT's are powerful and Hateless enough sch/blm maybe useful for extra dot damage from INT.
Can RDM Sleep-"ga" II using sch sub?
Maybe they can use the spell, but not the scroll for it, when Light or Dark Arts is active.
Perhaps they *can* cast tier IV nukes and Raise II when under the effects of Dark or Light Arts respectively... but they had to have learned it first from BLM or WHM.
Jesus Christ, don't give him some sort of validity.Originally Posted by nekoshoonen

Not too much different than what they did with SMN. Although it would be an interesting twist, like with FFV and the "Normal" class gaining all abilities of the mastered job classes. In that game, you had to max ALL the jobs to access all of the abilities of "Normal".Originally Posted by lost071
100% that Light Arts and Dark Arts will push SCH's spell list to better tier.

You don't gain access to any more abilities by taking WHM past 37. They wouldn't make one class like that and then not have equivalent for other jobs. Your logic completely fails.
How can you be 100% if I may ask?
He means how back in the day (before April '04?) there were only the "high level" avatar quests and no mini-forks.Originally Posted by lost071
If you're referring to my statement then obviously I'm not 100% certain. It just doesn't make any sense. Also you don't think that SE would have stated that btw, to gain access to all of scholars spells, you must have previously learned these spells from other jobs to have access to them?Originally Posted by Toth
SMN was different still. Yes SE sucks for adding the fights as being lvl 65+, however they eventually fixed this.
Oh no, I was speaking of eva's comment, lost.
I want to know if RDM/SCH using Dark Arts can get an Enfeebling Magic skill level of A+++, as Dark Arts is supposed to raise your base Enfeebling/Dark/Elemental magic skills.
The spell list is highly disappointing though /sigh Was planing to take the job to 75, but unless it shows that the Helix spells are incredibly strong, or that SCH gets an extended spell list through the use of Light and Dark arts, I won't lvl it past 37 =/
I'd love to see proof of 100% to nip this SCH is WOTG PUP garbage in the bud - there's no reason to jump to conclusions. :3
Not going through the pages, did anyone establish Graviga is only active with /RDM. As well as the fast cast Stoneskin?
Again, I'm not reading D:
3 Spells that should be added to SCH's list to make them reasonably awesome:
Refresh, Haste, Regain.
Now there'd be a job worth leveling. As it is, 61 levels of gimped main-healing before they get to roll out the unique DoT spells is a bit much. It doesn't make much sense for a "strategic" job to not have access to spells that greatly improve the performance of their allies.
I'm betting even the anti-TIM crowd is wishing TIM had been added instead, after seeing SCH's lackluster spell list.
Refresh is a red mages bread and butter, lets not make scholar (which is damn well VERY similar to rdm) a complete carbon copy of rdm.Originally Posted by Pepperblix
Haste, the only valid arguement - i dont really see what SE is trying to pull here not giving a job with white magic skills one of the most crucial white magic spells.
Regain - woosh~
The list of spells isnt too bad, id like some more unique spells for the job (Bravery / Faith come to mind) but people are jumping to alot of conclusions... id like to know what people were expecting from Scholar.
