I had a party against puks that worked quite well 2 dnc/nin Nin/war bard/nin sam/thf drk/nin actually worked quite well and was a very fun party about 8k-9k per hour. So as in everything your mileage will vary.

I usually have a lot more tp than I could possible use... so I use Drain Samba II if I am responsible for keeping the party alive and I don't have a strong healer. Otherwise... it's Haste Samba.

This will probably change when I get dancing edge.

See, here's the problem. By the time you get to Puk level, you should be getting 12-13k on the lower ones or if you're fighting Sea Puks, 14-15k/hr. 8-9k is ok, but personally I don't "like" to exp in pickup parties, so if I join one I want the exp to go fast, and unfortunately this isn't.

Agreed. What point is there to use Drain Samba II when the party is almost always at full health but the PLD who is using Cure III and IV to keep hate anyways?

Haste Samba is far from perfect but it helps out a lot more in a party stacked with DDs and competent healers (which is a rarity in pick ups anymore. I swear you should be banned from leveling your first mage jobs in ToA areas, especially WHMs, just cause they don't learn how to play the frickin job correctly)

Works for me especially since sitting in my moghouse seeking nets 0 xp per hour I take 9k any day.....

But even on Dancer you can solo goblin pets for the same exp/hr. To me, a good party gets more exp than a soloer. <_<

More power to you if you can get 9k solo I never had that much luck myself kind of pointless to continue this convo in the least your way superior to me an I am quite happy with 9k an hour myself. Its great xp in my book any more is just gravy but then again I am just an ordinary regular player been playing since NA release and 9k will always be good to be except meriting my war or blu lol.

lol, I'm not trying to sound superior or any such nonsense. I'm just saying that at high 60s/low 70s (I assume these are the puks you were killing), 9k/hr is very mediocre, in any party setup - although good if you have no Bard.

If you were killing the ones you fight at low 60s, I suppose 9k/hr isn't actually that bad due to the lack of any good Puk camps. If this was the case, I'm curious as to why your party chose this camp over the other choices in the area? XD

Simple all the other camps had people in them...... We get pretty packed depending on the time of day you xp on shiva and have a lack of tanks and refresh atm.

Campaign if done right can yield 5-6k/hour or better at times.

If it isn't silly fast exp, meriting ain't fun, so I'd rather just go have some fun in Campaign than mindlessly grind out a merit and a half in a Rdm, Pld, 4 DD party over the course of an hour and change.

Also: As a melee, Haste Samba= happyfuntime, Puks use lots of AoE's though, so Drain Samba II makes it easier on everyone, when I find I have a lot of AoE spam around, I keep Dsamba up full time.

Campaign started to work nicely for me around level 57 now its just gravy train when no parties are seeking and since you don't lose XP and make AN = <3. At 63 its pretty much a win and even soloing the DC war smilidons are fun in between battles. Dancing edge is just such a sweet ws for dancer thank god....

    Re: Dancer discussion

My question is why the DNCs are having to tank? I had like 2-3 pts with 2 DNCs 1 Healer and 3 DD and the DD mostly tanked. They probably could have with only 1 DNC, though it would really depend on the skill of the players. It was good xp everytime too.

If the formula for Drain Samba is a number divided by weapon's delay, does a MNK/DNC on 2hr divide by 0? Oshi...

    Re: Dancer discussion

I went to Dynamis a few time with my DNC75.

In Beau. , it was my first time. Leader asked me what I can do... I told him, I am not pretty sure too. LOL
He let me join the Melee party... we went in... I first tried to do Sambas ... and because they were all killed like less than a minutes... the moment I've made the dance, drawn my weapons and the laggy in dynamis... mobs' HP is like 25%, when I hit a couples... my DD pt got a few drains and it die... doesn't look benefiting from Samba...
So, next thing I try to make some steps... mostly only 1 step can be made on a mob before they died LOL
then... I tried to keep TP, help WHM to cure DD... did that pretty much... WHM was happy
After the whole run, I am not entirely happy with what DNC can do in Dynamis with fast killing LS.

Second runs - in Bastok, lots of "standing turtles" !
I was giving it a trial again. This time, I kept on doing Steps, but Magic def debuff, and stun them, surprisingly, they were stunned to at least 5 to 10 sec.
Due to my LS ability to kill fast - Most of them did not get a chance to use 2hrs, due to my "stunning" work, and die. I was happy. I kept on doing this.
Mostly... only mobs I missed my stun are NMs and I would said 75% of the mobs are succesfully stunned by me.
Not sure if that's being one of the work, but we cleared the entired zoned with 20 to 30 mins left. (Probably this is also my dynamis ls is impossible to gauge ! )

Third runs - Xarcabard ... I am still lotting my THF hands, so I didn't go DNC, but THF. Unfortunately (luckily), I won my hands. So, I won't be going as any other jobs except THF to dynamis, unless we have too much TH4...

    Cheers!

    Thf/Dnc!

    It's useful yo.

Grats on the hands, and testing it out.

I basically see Dnc as a Refresh replacement, since I can cover the cures enough that another Healer won't need refresh to handle the rest.

No, because Hundred Fists isn't "Delay = 0"

5-6k an hour is pretty easy in campaign if you have a zone like junger always under attack on shiva I get between 400-1400xp per battle avg is around 1K keep ranking up and it adds up fast. As a dancer you basically keep sambas up and constantly spam steps and flourishes as much as possible hopefully not pulling to much hate also attack bosses even if you die the xp can be worth it. I even fight weaken to maximize my xp been doing this since about level 57 with great results. At around 60 the war smilodon become meets and make for decent xp between battles. Now at 63 it just gets better and better higher rank and the ability to survive longer all = more xp.....

I'm in jugner all the time as Mnk/nin, doing all battle, fighting NM, tanking nearly all mob and I never got more than 4k per hour average. I dunno how it is on your server but on mine the minimum people in jugner zone is 70. Also I'm bronze star if you want to know.

Interesting I do know that the more you spam Job abilities and damage bosses seems that your xp goes up 4k seems low to me many I know hit 2k+ in one battle at 75 mostly rdm. Your mileage does vary on what actions you do and how many bosses you get to fight and how many campaigns are completed in an hour on your server.
