I was thinking Dancer's Casaque +1 is a worthwhile piece for upgrading, but on the 2nd thought, I pass it. It's like I'm given choice to Flame Ring + DEX+1 vs acc+10 atk+12 ring.

Since we seem to be talking best gear regardless of attainability, you forgot DNC can equip Black Tathlum instead of Tiphia Sting. I actually WS in assault jerkin for higher attack+ since that is, in the grand scheme of things, DNC's one weakness as a DD.

I also offhand matron's knife on DNC to make up 4 DEX, and it's also fast weapon like the tail and all 3 of the best WSes for DNC are heavily DEX mod-ed. I haven't really jumped on the ermine's tail bandwagon evasion doesn't do much for DD and intimidation by plants is a big turnoff, even though they aren't common it still affects DD output.

EDIT: oops forgot it's a beast type weapon, not a lizard type

    It's surprisingly close.

The Atk is still a bit lower, but if you offhand Behemoth Knife +1, the Atk will be more or less the same.

I also noticed DNC has 14 more CHR compared to THF. That's 4-5 more base damage on Dancing Edge.
Interesting, DNC's less behind in tpgear than I'd expected. I'm not sure what you compiled this for, so sorry if my comments aren't applicable. If it's just pure melee swings, yeah, DNC will hit about as hard and as accurate, but slower, a lot less, and for less tp (if my memory about Store TP serves me correctly).

You omitted delay (or I missed it)
    X+Blau = 201+178, Azoth+Ermine's = 210+194 (Behe+1 : 201)

Triple Attack same thing, as well as Ambush.

THF with access to Dusk+1 would use them over Homam no question, and if you compare top of the line DNC (which I'm going to assume this is), THF ought to be on the same level. (See also: Skadi legs and their store TP)

WSgear-wise, I think THF is much better off, though I'm not sure, was still playing when Enkidu etc got introduced, and saw nothing that would replace my WS set (heca-centric). So all the CHR will do is help you catch up.

    Ok, question for everyone...

How do you all deal with imps? I really am a bit scared at the thought of havign all my wonderful dances beign torn from me. I've grown quite attached to them D:

From what I've seen, the best method I've bee told is to stay back and actually build tp with a chakram, jr musketeers or fruit loop, and stack rng acc gear instead of acc.

I tossed on (lol lv 28) two dual wielded archers knives, carapace rings+1, and aside from af body for cure potency, just stacked -emnitty with the crow head/legs/feet/hands.

Is this a good method to go about still beign effective? Also, has anyone tried and seen if healing waltze cures amnessia? Cause damn that would be hot.

If you are the only healer, keeping Drain Samba III whenever you're not on amnesia should be suffice for PT curing. Imps die quick anyway.

    Wow, seems I'm underestimating DS3 o.o

That or imps just suck at hitting us.

    Ranged attacks cannot inflict dazes.

Healing Waltz does not cure amnesia.

Had it since lv 50. tp store +1 with my carbonara gives me an extra 1 tp per round, which is exactly 10, allowing me to step on the first round not second. ^_^

Just to clarify, store TP+1 is not 1 extra TP. TP is calculated to the first # past the decimal. So if Store TP+1 makes your first round 10 instead of 9, what it's doing is bumping it from 9.9 to 10.

I was under the impression that Store TP +1 increased your TP per hit by 1/100.

1/100 of what you would get without it. It's a 1% increase. So if your base TP were 100 per hit sure, otherwise no.

store tp usually needs to be stacked pretty heavy before you notice a huge jump in TP.
but with raja ring, chivy chain, and this Ecphoria thats +7. enkidu subligar add another +5, as do the rest of the enkidu i believe.

i was originally quoting that ring for the cure amnesia enhancement though xD

Yeah that's what I thought. This thread has basically become a "Understanding Basic Mechanics" thread though...at least recently.

Anyways on topic I'd like to say, even if it isn't much and is seriously obvious, No Foot Rise is easily the best tier 2 merit. Ever since I've gotten it and started upgrading it, DNC just seems to be more and more useful. Showing up to camps for farming with TP already packed away is absolutely wonderful. It makes starting up very nice and isn't "slow" like it feels most of the time when I used to play.

It just allows for so much more flexibility.

^ Yep. Having meditate is nice!

I'm trying to look at means to bumping up attack to decent levels myself. I brought DNC to DynaTav, and while I had no problems healing my party (other than the usual DynaTav shenanigans, maybe my group disagrees, I don't know), the issue was the amount of damage I was doing. If I'm going to be hitting the mob, I should at least be contributing a bit better than just feeding the mob TP.

I'm still not at optimal gear accuracy, which is part of the problem. Once that mark is hit, eating meat will be the way to go.

A great start would be eating Pizzas for the attack and accuracy bonuses and wearing the af2 body or Assault Jerkin. I'm thinking of switching to meat full time though with a few merits in Closed Position and a small upgrade to accuracy in gear.

I'm actually wondering what our optimal accuracy rating should be for an efficient meat setup.

Mine will always be a bit askew, since I'm off handing a Joyeuse.

I've been fooling around with the merit accuracy calculator, and it seems kind of low. With a highly optimal setup (Azoth, P. Charmulet, etc.), it says my accuracy will only be 67% at birds? But I've gotten much higher than that on a parse. Also doesn't take into account throwing down a Quickstep, which'll help too (though generally should not be accounted for).

But what do I know? Maybe I've just been spoiled by 2h wielding anymore and 1h just pales that much in comparison.

if you plugged into that calculator as sword-wielding it might be at 67%, but thats your offhand and it swings 2x usually, so at least one would generally hit. does seem low, but idk how that calc works specifically nor do i have a parse from birds to compare it too.
i think if you calc for daggers the data shown will be much higher

unless you go /sam with joytoy?

I used 256 as a base, and made sure DNC was set as main job.

I'm not too worried. Just odd, is all.
