Lame.
I'm not 100% positive about this, maybe someone can confirm because I tried looking for it, (in an attempt to not look like a dumbass,) you can only have one additional effect proc per swing right?
So if you were an Excalibur PLD/DNC or RDM/DNC using either enspell or excalibur, would you lose the drain/aspir effect or... is it a completely separate thing since it's a different mechanic?
RDM/DNC test guuuuuuuuuu! I will do it if no one has by the time I unlock dancer and get a dance
Blind knife proc'd with samba on, only time since lv4 I haven't drained on a swing.
Lvl 17DNC and naptime for me now!
Gonna assume you only get enspell effect then.Originally Posted by SathFenrir

Just a little side note:
It appears dances produce very low enmity, along the same level as Holy Circle / Defender / Cover / etc
Looking for 75 pants for Dancer? Barbarossa's Zerehs is probably the best thing now. Dropped last night for my group and had that wonderful DNC on it.
Anyone done any tests for what effects Drain Samba drain? I wouldn't be surprised if vit/int was a mod in some fashion.
I was having a little trouble trying to decide on what feet and legs to wear on DNC because I don't have pahluwan for either of them just yet. Tabin +1 feet look best until I can get pahluwan/afford dusk feet. I haven't really looked into AHable gear for 75 legs..Hmmm Looking a little far into the future but its something to pass the time while Im out of town lol

I don't want to rush on this job until AF/Merit or even Merit2 get implemented. Even if you're 75, DNC will still be inferior to the others due to that.
Well Im not really looking for the best gear atm... kinda best AHable gear >_> or easy to get gear. The other stuff is easy to figure out.
Apparently Aspir Samba also takes only 10 TP to activate, according to the 26 DNC on my server. I'd add this to the wiki, but only the bureaucrats can create the Aspir Samba page.
Just got 31DNC, Cure Waltz 2 takes 35 TP, and we get a Defense Down "Step" and a very low accuracy gravity Flourish at 30, only consumes 1 Finishing Move per use.
Dusk for TP, Denali for WS, atm.Originally Posted by eva00r
Yeah Dusk +1 (optimally) is leagues ahead of Denali.
I'm looking forward to wearing a mix of Dusk and Pahluwan, topped of with the feathery turban we all learned to love. Purple (no doubt this time) for the friggin' win.

So anyways after EXP'ing for a while and hitting 21DNC >_>
Drain Samba - Lv5 - 10TP Cost
Puts a 10 second debuff on mob called Drain Daze. When active anyone in your party, not alliance, will be able to drain a small amount of HP proportional to the damage the deal, seems to be somewhere in the range of 15~20%? Needs more testing to get a confirmed number. Also I am sure there is a cap on the amount drained by this and the highest I saw was a DRK Crit for 98 and Drained 21HP. The buff itself seems to last for about 90 seconds and the recast on Samba's is 60 seconds.
Curing Waltz - Lv15 - 20TP Cost
Instantly heals a party member, not sure on alliance status yet but for sure cannot cure outside of party, with roughly 67~72 HP. It is impossible to interupt since it is an instant cast and also cannot be silenced since it is a Job Ability. It seems to generate less threat than a Cure II because I was able to spam 5~6 Waltz' before gobbie would even think to turn to me. It also has an INSANE cure range, tested with a WHM where I went back as far as I could and still cure; then had the WHM try and cure me but he got the error that he was too far away. The recast on Waltz' is 5 seconds but after the animation its about 1 second.
Quickstep - Lv20 - 10TP Cost
Insant attack that deals no damage and lowers a mobs evasion. Seems to be based on melee accurracy, so it gets easier to land the more you use it. The debuff on the mob stacks up to 5 times and seems to last about 90(?) seconds and everytime you use Quickstep to stack it again the timer resets. If the timer resets and the debuff wears off the stacking resets at 1. There will definately have to be more testing on the actual evasion down to get a confirmed amount but it seems like by the time I get to stack it 5 times nobody in the party misses. I would guestimate somewhere in the range of -5EVA each time. It also gives you 3 finishing move points each time you use Quickstep.
Animated Flourish - Lv20 - 2 Finishing Move Points
Instantly casts provoke by consuming 2 finishing point moves from using steps. Other than the fact that it looks cool it seems to be an exact copy of provoke. 30 Second recast.
As far as leveling goes. Use H2H and /MNK for better DPS. Also it helps PT's when you can actually hit the mob for more than 0 >_>; When I hit 20 I switched over to all ACC+ and Daggers. With quickstep I still can do decent damage and it gives you faster TP recovery from the lower delay. I saw a JP with swords but I also saw 5x JP with daggers. DNC has the same skill level for H2H as they do with swords. Considering the fact that you probably will never be WS'ing you dont need to really worry about beaing able to have a weapon that deals massive WS dmg >.> Just need to get consistant TP. I did keep H2H for solo though for shit with high DEF.
Someone else can update bg wiki.
For me, so many jobs are blurple endgame. Dusk hands/Feet+1 with Turban is more than serviceable for just about any melee that can equip.
Wow Healing Waltz sounds awesome ._.

THF has a purple body it can put to good use, and so do WAR/DRK/BST. For DRG, Ares' blends in nicely with purple but it's not really purple itself. COR uses Pahluwan body too I guess. Hooray for purple.
Back to the more important issue: holy shit at the curing thing. I probably wasn't the only one who thought DNC would be more support than anything, right? But damn. DNC seems fairly good all-around.
I'm so leveling it.
