Still havent had a chance to pty with a dnc yet, but on ifrit we already have a lvl 40 DNC Kuuya(for all you people on ifrit). Its nuts
I have -0.03hrs of PTO left for work or I would be at home exping using up all my PTO -_-;
I went from 10 to 21 yesterday D:
Could DNC/WAR have 2 provokes at 20 then, thus making it a great way to ensure that it always has hate?
I'm not sure the validity of it since I read it on zam, but they seem to be pretty convinced the CHR is a mod on the curing waltzes. I'm a level away from getting the first, so was wondering if anyone else had tested the theory at all.
I'm not too sure about the chr mod. I'm mithra, with -10 chr from food, bringing me to 7 chr and I still heal for 66 hp with healing waltz.
I'm testing this. I'll let you know.Originally Posted by tessy cat
I know this is only my second post here but I'm the other DNC currently staticing with Tarumara. We're both currently lvl 30 and I pointed out that the "Steps" seemed to have lost a lot of accuracy after I used a Jack O' Lantern as my food cause I wanted ACC. Perhaps it's coincidence that I've been missing a lot but Tarumara doesn't use Jack's and he's been landing the Steps roughly 3x more than I have. I have more ACC gear too. I guess either CHR does effect your dance potency OR I'm just unlucky as all hell.
We have a Power Level though so we don't use the Waltz that much so I can't confirm the CHR modifier thing. I think perhaps 69 is the lowest you can possibly go...but perhaps it goes higher? We'll see.
In a few days hopefully I can post whether or not Light Staff works with Curing Waltz! XD
Most useless thing ever! Wahoo! A job that needs TP using weapon gear swaps is hawt yo.
It looks like it does.
+5 CHR - 71 Curing Waltz
+0 CHR - 69 Curing Waltz
I made sure when I swapped out the +5, it was for a Compound Eye Circlet (+5 Evasion) and an Empress Band, so nothing else could've caused those number changes.
Did you test both gear set numerously? Two times wouldn't be enough to prove anything.Originally Posted by tessy cat
This isn't formal testing at all. I'm duo-ing with a DRG currently, and trying to compare the numbers I'm getting inbetween fights. I know the last 8 times I used it, I got 71 (using +CHR gear since I'm /BST anyway). 4 times I unequipped 5 CHR and got 69. Not definite whatsoever--I can do a real test later and record data if anyone hasn't. Just eyeballing though, it looks like the numbers are static and +CHR has an effect.
Seems conclusive enough to me.
It makes sense, it's the physical counterpart to BRD, just as Dancer has always been. Gunna bet this applies to more than just curing dances. lolDacning Edge CHR bonus.
Sunrise, Sunset.
Alright, just did a small test. Was planning on trying 50 times without & without CHR but my duo partner wants to go back to leveling, lol. We went into N. Gusta and I had him convert after I got 300% TP. Looks like it does effect it.
15DNC/7BST Base Stats and + Stats from Gear Full Time:
STR 16
DEX 24 +3
VIT 16 +1
AGI 21 +3
INT 14
MND 14 +4
CHR 19
CHR Gear - 2x Hope Ring & Noble's Ribbon = +7 CHR (forgot to equip Bird Whistle too) for a total of 26.
No CHR signifies those are all unequipped so a base of 19.
The one strange thing I noticed is that suddenly I started doing Curing Waltz for up to 83. When I was in the dunes (same level, same gear, same subjob), I never got above 71. The only difference I could tell is that I was using a meat mithkabob then, we were in a separate zone, and I was curing a DRG15 rather than a RDM75. None of my eyeballing earlier and testing now occured on Lightsday or Darksday. I'm not exactly sure how the sudden jump happened or why, but I was getting consistent results when I performed my test.
30 Times w/ CHR gear (26 total) - 83 HP cured.
30 Times w/o CHR gear (19 total) - 81 HP cured.
Happened on Windsday/Iceday from 10-12% moon. I doubt that CHR is the only modifier. I wonder if MND, VIT, healing magic skill, and/or AGI can make it vary as well.
Edit: In case it matters, listed my other stats as well.
There's no need to test cure spells multiple times, they've always been static. There's no reason Waltzes would be any different.
Just wanted to point out also that Drain Samba does not do additional damage on top of normal hits - so it's not like an enspell. It's like Blood Weapon in the sense that it's just healing. (in case this wasn't posted yet.)
I figured it probably was static, but just in case, I wanted to make sure day/moon wasn't causing it to do more or less. Also didn't want the lack of trials to lead to a question of validity. I am really curious, however, how I managed to gain +12 HP healed to my curing waltz just by having a meat mithkabob wear.
O.o; not sure.Originally Posted by tessy cat
I'm gonna assume that Curing Waltz caps at 90ish, maybe a little higher like Cure II. 67-72ish is about what WHMs do at lv11 when they first get it, especially with no healing skill and not much MND gear on.
woot DNC37 now, and our evasion skill is very noticable, these waltz's can sure pull mad hate.
Alright, I'm back in the dunes and I'm back to only healing 71. This time I'm using a Rice Dumpling instead of a Meat Mithkabob. I'm beginning to think either location or the level of your target has something to do with it, the latter being more likely. It seems really weird that either would change anything, but there's nothing else I can pinpoint. Can anyone else confirm a change like that?
just got into a dncx2 cor brd rdm rng pt on Nest Beetle, and it is smokin.
Gonna dig my BRD out of temporary retirement for dncx2 brd cor PT. It's freaking ridiculous, right now it's dncx2 cor, some friends of mine, they're trioing, and... it's absolutely insane, SE wasn't kidding when they said dancers made small-group EXP absolutely ownage.
It may not be additional damage, but the mob has to be alive after the hit for the drain effect. If you kill a mob with drain daze on it, you get no drain effect.Originally Posted by Wizerd
