The SOB quests you'd been doing since you started playing eventually influencing other quests and tying in with the conclusion of the Windurst story was one of the coolest things SE ever did with a storyline.

The cutscene when you give the Dark Mana Orb back to the SOB after beating the final Windurst mission and defeating Fenrir again is one of the best in the game.

I changed my nation too fast when I completed windy mission, and it wont let me watch those cutscene now.

I was able to get the cutscene after I switched nations. (Twice actually.) You have to defeat Fenrir after the final mission BC, and you will receive a key item called "Dark Mana Orb". Talk to Kohlo-Lakolo after getting it to get the final cut-scene.

I'm pretty sure Fenrir's exact words when he gives you the orb is "take this to the children". You only get it if you're Windy Rank 10+finished Promise Badge quest. What did you think you were supposed to do with it?

I probably ignored what Fenrir was talking about at the time, and never put two and two together... of course, I should have figured it out from the description on the key item

You don't have to have finished SOB quests for Fenrir to give it to you, just to get the cutscene that uses it--although I do think you do have to finished Windy R10. I got the orb years ago but only did SOB through Promise Badge and the subsequent cutscene a few months ago. So it's conceivable that someone has beaten Fenrir and got the orb yet doesn't know what children he's talking about since they never did the SOB series, although I had someone tell me about it at the time, just never got around to it then.

Judging by its name, it would be amusing if the latent was being level 60 cooking or below.

"not having synth support" would be pretty typical of recent latent effects too.

I know you can finish the second and third bastok quests without being changed to bastok, however I skipped the first completely. Since you already started the first one thou I'm not sure if you can get out of it...

Smart Grenade has a hidden effect of +4 Attack, and there might be more (acc, etc). Tested the Atk+ myself. Kinda odd they'd give us a R/E throwing item w/ -4 RACC but this is SE here.

I know you can finish the second and third bastok quests without being changed to bastok, however I skipped the first completely. Since you already started the first one thou I'm not sure if you can get out of it...

You can get out of it, but I'm a quest completionist and wanted it done. In Windy, they ask you to join -after- you complete the quest. In Bastok, they force you to join as soon you complete the quest, that's how I lost my Sandorian nationality yesterday. >_>

That's nice to know, as I was going to try and keep up-to-date with the WoTG quests myself, and realized that the two allegiance quests are still considered just that, quests. So the windurst one you can complete (IE - move it to the completed state) without switching nations, but the Bastok one you can't since it asks you beforehand?

Might be something to report to SE, one or the other is obviously not supposed to happen. Or who knows... maybe it is.

It's only 300 AN to change nation allegiances, so unless you've lost a medal with 3 or 4 days on it, it's pretty much an insignificant amount of hassle to change back.

I've lost everything going toward my evalution (4 OP, 15 000 points worth of campaign) and need to wait an additional 5 days before my next rank up. Imo, it's not an insignificant amount of hassle. Having to wait longer to unlock additional mission is also annoying

IE - If it's that, i might as well just wait until i've finished all campaign ops and switch after i've completed what i need to from San D'Oria, considering I should be getting my next badge in hours.

Hmm, damn. My mistake there. I read the "penalties" for changing allegiance and figured losing your "awards" just meant you'd have to start a new 5-day eval cycle in the new town with that Bronze Ribbon, not lose all your AN. Losing your Ops record is kinda expected though, since there's a different set of missions (with similar goals) for each town.

Still, I went ahead and completed the 3 town quests anyway, then switched back to Bastok, only losing 2 days of Tokens in the process.

I didnt word that correctly I guess. I just meant every point you accumlated that week won't count toward your rank up. You keep them, but you need to farm more if you want to get your medals.
