AV is as much a DRG as it is a SAM.
    SAMs have wyvern pets?
DRG use Meikyo Shisui, Mighty Strikes, Hundred Fists, Benediction, Manafont, Chainspell, Perfect Dodge, Eagle Eye Shot, Familiar, Astral Flow, Soul Voice, Mijin Gakure, Invincible, and Blood Weapon?
    Fixed.

I've never encounted a SAM Aern(er, or a Aern with a spear that doesn't summon a wyvna) outside the first mission. If they do exist, and with that model, I would guess the model alone wouldn't be enough to prove it.

SAM aerns definately do have Polearm. The first Ix'Drg room (the SE one) you enter from porting up has MNK, SAM and BRD, the SAM has polearm, you can go check out for yourself don't think it could be anything else but SAM, have spent many hours farming those four rooms.

Anyway.. this topic is getting derailed...

Despite the fact that I'm gay, I have to say that Altennia is the hottest thing to come out of FFXI yet.

Edit: Hooray, Cait Sith's Assistant. Bringing this post dangerously close to LJ territory, I have to say that this expansion's content is my favorite so far, because it's the first one for which I've been here since the start. It's a lot more fun this way than when you're rehashing missions that people have done over and over, even though they may be easier with the amassed knowledge by that point. It all feels so new and exciting, and the fact that we're all at basically the same point makes it moreso. It's also a lot easier to get people to help; There was already someone at the stump for the Sandy orc NM when I got there.

    Yuri-G: Shadow Hearts (Great series)

I've only been disappointed and it's trivial is with how Missions structure is faced. I loved the "Chapter" style in CoP. I was sadden we didn't see it in TOAU, and now in WoTG. It's fun to look back in my mission list for Cop and see it broke down the way it was.

It felt more like a great book, and was always fun seeing "Chapter 6 - Echoes of Time" etc. pop up on screen..

Yeah, knowing that this one was done by the CoP team I was really hoping for a return to the chapter system. It's really too early to tell for the expansion as a whole -- I'm hoping that the missions were light for the initial update because they want people to explore the new areas, and that we'll get a more meaty update in January. All I ask is something between TAU and CoP missions -- I don't want five cutscenes that can be done in an hour, nor do I want missions that can't be done by a super leet group of HNMers. Something like the level most CoP missions are at now, or just slightly harder would suit me just fine.

Is there a source on the CoP team working on this expansion? The last I heard the majority of the CoP team was sent over to the Enix side to work on things.

I think it was based on the director of this expansion being the same guy who did CoP. As for the individual developers on the team, I don't recall a source explicitly saying they're the same.

Mmmm, I thought I read in an interview some time ago that they had two teams on expansions, that alternated? the memory is fuzzy at best, though perhaps someone with more initiative can look it up for sure. I certainly hope that it's the CoP team, and that they've learned from what was awesome about TAU and applied that knowledge to WotG.

No, the CoP team would learn all that is awesome from ToAU and do the exact opposite. That's just how they roll.

Honestly, the only thing that looks like the CoP team had a hand in it is Jugner Forest [S].

And claw and hide drop rates, and Sandworm.

Nah. Claw and hide drop rates just remind me of farming Genkai items.

And "Sandworm" is just this expansion's "Hydra".

Well, Hydra did have loot, and unique stuff at it (nothing exceptional, but they have their use). >_> Worm is just a title atm

Maybe "have their use" as in "equip it along with Spelunker's Hat and Stumbling Sandals as town gear".

    That's a good idea.

    *does so*

    *falls to the ground.*
    *falls to level 74.*

    Son of a!

I will say this, I fucking love my Orochi Nodowa, and would have kept my Snakeye if I wasn't getting poisonga'D on such a regular basis to make it suicidal, a couple tics here and there, stacked with barone body, sanction/sigil, and ulths in assault helps quite a bit when it's working constantly.

Neck and Ammo slots didnt have regen gears before. Berserker torque is usable to wake yourself on melee jobs. I can think of many situations where I got slept and had to wake up asap. Like I said, they arent great, but they are still decent items.

I personally carry my regen set full time, and it saved my ass a lot of time (5hp full time, 8hp under 50%, and 9hp in assault/salv) and would carry torque full time on warrior if I had it.

Regen set means Poison is a joke, Dia doesn't even phase you, Choke and the like are trivial annoyances, and even Bio II is just a lot less nasty.

I love having it, first thing I saw when Einherjar abjs were released was that Shadow Breastplate has (confirmed 2 hp/tic) Regen+awesome Steel Cyclone stats.

Am I the only one who carry antidote most of the times lol? It's usually the first thing I throw away if I need space, but they are so cheap and can be handy at time.
