It actually is announced that you get them, the Hero NPCs will say something in /say (Ronglenuts / Romaa / Zazarg) and you'll get a few temps items with the text : "Obtained temporary item: ____!" They give the same items repeatedly, we had Romaa stay alive but the other two died cuz 1/3 of our members had to AFK in the middle of the fight lol, she gives Spy's Drink + Fighter's Drink + Assassin's Drink. Friend said he got Oracle's when he was near Zazarg or Ronglenuts, not sure which one it was, but it was while they are fighting, might be a trigger on them taking damage or something. BC was fun, CS was good, but seriously, like 4 months waiting for 3 hours worth of missions? :/

a climax isnt the end.. its just a high point..
and you can clearly tell we're getting there.. especially with the introduction of more key characters and a better understanding of their stories...

You need to go back to school. Yes, the climax is not the ending, but it's usually near it as it leads into the final (and less exciting) moments of the story and the ending.


The battle of Jeuno can not be the high point of the story. Hell, the CS that followed the BC in La Vaule was at least just as interesting as the one here. Not that it wasn't an epic CS, because it was.

I just figured WotG would have lasted at least as long as ToAU did. So either we've got only a handful of missions left or SE grossly misspoke at fan fest.

I imagine the doll is purposely harder to get, and you get that from your questions if you answer most or all of them wrong. SE punishing those who don't pay attention to the storylines they put their work into, har har.

Of these, only the eye color is a factual question. They look yellow to me. Also, Cait Sith is wearing knee-high boots in the cutscene, so that doesn't seem to be missing.

Close, but the actual case is that, as usual, SE didn't say that at all. But it doesn't keep some people from living in their own imagination land.

I (I'd say we, but Kkel never noticed so dunno if he got the same items) only got the crappy temp potion, ether and 2 other trashy items (It was a quick glance, since I was trying to pop my icarus wing, but it wasn't anything beyond hp/mp/status cure items). I didn't really get a chance to screenshot because the mob kinda got wrecked moments after I saw. Since I, y'know, do count my shadows, I would think I'd have noticed 4 items showing up in my chat log. <_<

A story can also have multiple climaxes.

SE never did say this was the climax but its quite obvious considering they've introduced a new antagonist its definitely moving in that direction.. you can definitely tell the pace is picking up with the battle of Jeuno CS (and if you know the events that transpire in the Crystal War, the battle at Jeuno is the turning point of the war, the beastmen will soon turn and attack Tavnazia instead)...

Also, unless you're some newb with video games or even FFXI's expansions, you should know that the climax of a video game (especially RPGs) comes with the final battle.. and quite obviously, escorting a bunch of NPCs thru a cave and fighting weak mobs is not a final battle..) so you'd know that the climax has yet to come..

Once again, this is most likely a misintepretion by reporters at the fanfest

This was my first time taking part in the post-update mission rush and I had a blast. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed FFXI that much. Starting an alliance of random people at the spawn point for the tree, helping form parties of the dozen or so at the assault area entrance, coming up with a strategy on the fly. Not having to deal with shouts, pugs, or trying to drag others along, and getting it all finished in a timely manner. I can't imagine going back and doing it any other way.

Finished missions today, I can't believe they ended it like that! Hoping they don't continue the whole quests in 3 months and then missions in 6 months thing, quests are cool but half a year waits in between missions is ugh

I think they finished the story-based quests that they had for each nation. I also want more missions. I'm a little discontent that SE called this latest set of missions the "climax", but if the rest of the missions are as good as they have been then I can afford to wait a little longer.

The Jeuno flag seems to be quite strong, it overpowered everything I have in my MH.

I am able to keep my standard Moghancement: Experience with my Mahogany Bed without issue, so this would seem to be correct. If I remove the bed I get Moghancement: Campaign. Has anyone done any tests as to how the moghancement works yet?

On the topic of the story, wow. I've always been a fan of the storylines we've been given in FFXI, but SE is really outdoing themselves on WotG. Waiting periods between updates aside, there isn't a thing I can complain about. I'm also going through it on a second character and there are so many more subtle points to pick up on when you have a bit of foreknowledge of some things. The bar has been set high and it really makes me look forward to the mini-expansions that are planned. Three 1-2 month story-driven pieces of content released complete from the start? Yes, please!
