Windowed/game lag? edit: USB Devices FIX INSIDE

My wife just went to sleep so I tried the newly updated stuff...

Specs:
Dual Core (2.13Ghz)
XP Home
1GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT

I have the regedits and I'm working as great as ever on unofficial windower.

I use a plain USB keyboard and wireless mouse.

I'm still getting like 3.5 FPS in whitegate, tried unplugging my mouse and keyboard to no effect. Guess they didnt solve the NVIDIA 8800 Issue =/

Lag from windower, lag from windowed mode, lag from full screen all cured by unplugging my logitech usb mouse....but I still can't play the game because Just-in-time debugging pops up right at the ...downloading data... screen after logging the character in. Anyone have any idea...I'm really close to just playing CoD4 the rest of the night.

GDI... yup confirmed... unplugged KB/Mouse (they're on the same receiver) and FPS shot up.......

Is there anyway to disable the "goodies" on a keyboard? >.> because this is the only keyboard i have here >.>

Yet another note. While I Alt-Tabbed to check the forums, my USB mouse disconnected and reconnected itself, as if I had physically removed the device from the bus. This is after fixing the FPS by switching my USB keyboard to a PS/2.

well this is odd. one of my G15s works fine and doesnt lag FFXI on one computer, but the one on my computer that lags obviously doesnt work.

According to windower.net forums, they found that FFXI is still running on DX8. That and there was no mention of upgrading to DX9 in the patch notes, so I wouldn't count on it.

Really? Where did that dx9 came from anyway lol?

This update might be with the expansion going live.


Edit: on topic, I'm using a g15, and a Logitech Laser mouse with 1 extra button, and I just whooped some Troll ass in besieged, had no problems...

Unplugging my mouse did nothing.. unplugging my keyboard gave me about 15FPS.. this really sucks.

Ok i got a wireless Microsoft keyboard and mouse, its using a dual USB and PCI adapter that you can use ethier or, so I logged in with the USB attached, 12 FPS, unplugged it after a bit (i was in the bloody MH), and straight to 29, so after awhile, i plugged in the PCI, no change works awesome!, just thought I would share, looks like definet USB

Unplugged G15/G5, went up to 29 (regular), plugged them back in in different USB ports, back down to 8. At least we know what's doing this.

I unplugged G15 and my Logi Headset, waited a minute, moved my mouse around (it's not USB) and then replugged USB stuff back in, working fine.

I'm using a Model M (PS2) keyboard and a Razer Boomslang 2100 (USB) and not encountering any problems. Damn glad too, I don't have any non USB mice anymore >_>

Okay.... if i connect my Wireless KB/Mouse reciever to the Tower i get ~10 FPS

When i connected it to my monitor's US port, which then connects to the tower i get 15 fps >.>
i dunno if that means anything but... it still kind of weird.....

Might as well chime in....

G15 keyboard... 29.x before, update = 13 fps in bastok. Unplug keyboard, pops back to 29.x

On a side note, there other others in my shell with a USB G15 and they are having no troubles at all.............

I had to find batteries for my logitech wireless keyboard... Did reduce lag though so can't complain. Now I gotta get used to typing on this thing.

I tried rolling back the drivers, and it didn't stop the suckage. One of my friends says his is working fine with the latest drivers, too.

Irony? Less than two weeks ago I forked out $99 + speedy delivery for my G15, and now I can't use it.

Double irony? The old, horrible keyboard I was trying to get away from when I ordered by lovely G15 in a hurry, is also USB and wireless to boot, so I still get the lag issues with this keyboard.

Damn SE for doing this to me, the first night in like a month I've had time to log on! >.<
