SE's Windower runs perfectly fine for me. Just as good as the old windower. Only issue is that my browser is slow to respond to typing.
8fps in mog house using either windower, or no windower at all. 8fps in menus. haven't bothered to leave the mog house.
geforce 6800
p4 3200 single core
winxp
no change in framerate when i adjust resolution or other graphics settings.
i noticed pol.exe sits at around 10% cpu usage whereas before it was always up around 50%. tried playing with the affinity & priority but nothing changed. i think they screwed something up w/cpu interaction.
also, i'm getting stuck keys when running the 3rd pt windower. as in i'll be typing and a keyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy will get stuck.
im using win 2k (had mb issues when i installed xp, so just gave up and went 2k, fixed mb issues but havent got round to putting xp on xD).
anywho yeah, im 2k, with these probs
Side note, when the game is running, my processor / ram usage is very low. I have a 3.4(iirc) p4, and 2gb(? maybe 4 lol) ram. FFxi is taking up 10% cpu and 40mb ram, as opposed to the 70+ cpu im used to (and im sure it uses more than 40k ram lol)
i dont get it, how come some people can actually OPEN the game (though the fps sucks) and some people just flat out cant get it to open... it seems really random, i cant find anything in common
people who crash, what are you running on?
Process priorty on the windowed mode is set to low.
I don't recall it being that way before, and POL is still set to high.
Anyone who's game works wanna check their priority settings?
Question: does anyone with an AMD cpu (single or dual core) have this problem? I know Ashira runs on a Sempron (single core) and is ok.
It's set to low when in the background, normal when it's on top.
I think it's been working that way a while now.
Just for clarification, I'm on a nvidia card.
Oh and don't try the online service and support chat, I've been waiting about 45 minutes now and still haven't gotten a rep.
I'm having the same issues on my main machine, my secondary machine is still downloading the update so I haven't had a chance to test it there.
I had a look at every possible thing regarding my video card, directx etc but nothing worked. I'm running Dual Core 2.13ghz, nVidia geforce 7900 GS and all different modes (SE fullscreen, SE windower, Windower-lite, Windower 3.26-3.3) just lag me to hell. But it's also affecting my computer performance as randomly key's aren't responding or they are pressed in repeatedly. FPS ranges from 4.3 to 4.6.
Can't say i'm surprised really, there's always some shit going on after an update.
nVidia geforce 8600M 256mb
Intel Core 2 Duo 7500
XP
Windowed mode: OK
Windower: OK
Vista
Windowed mode: BAD
Windower: BAD
For those who lagging, are you guys using the up to date driver? I just installed latest nvidia driver few days ago, and having no lag in both SE and the windower 3.3. And I also notice there some graphic improve in the game too. It might due to the reason.
But still haven't tried with my laptop by running SE windower, currently run the game with windower 3.3. The lag experience by laptop still as usual, didn't have any major impact.
edit for pc spec:
desktop
ram 2G
processor intel c2d 4300
nvidia 7900GT
window xp sp2
laptop
p4 1.6ghz
ram 1G
ati radeon mobile 9700
window xp sp2
currently laptop is running for 25~29 fps in whitegate with 160~ ppl.
ppl who lagging might try to check the task manager?
okay... SE windower shuts down my computer after i select my character >.>
gonna try to update drivers and see what happens...
I lag w/ SE windower, Fullscreen and w/ Windower 3.3 >.> its a bit annoying.....
Oh...
Using Nvidia GeForce 7500 LE >.>
Like most posters in this thread I am unable to play due to less than 1 FPS and the fact that it takes 10 minutes to get through the Character Select screen. I have Windows XP SP2, am running a single core processor, have no modded DATS or UI, and previously enjoyed grear performance with the "unofficial" windower.
I turned off recast and my old windower works fine. When I used the FFXI one I exped horrible typing lag but the game itself worked fine. I havent had any lag at all in-game. Just out of game using the SE windower I have extreme typing lag.
Its weird this is only affecting some people.
XP pro, P4 3.0, 1GB ram, GeForce 6600. Those are my stats. Note: I also have 163.44 Nvidia forceware installed.
yeah, i am running up to date graphics drivers for my card
Quad-core Vista desktop: crashes regardless of mode
Duo-core XP laptop: runs but very low frame rate regardless of mode
Xbox 360: works great!!!!
Tried this now, it was set to low by default, I changed it to high, it went back down to "low" on it's own (tried several times), it refuses to use more than 12% CPU capacity.Originally Posted by Massive

Runnin great with SE Windower, just the text is blurry on the sides. No lag. No tried Taj Windower.
WinXP SP2 / DualCoreDuo E2140 / 2GB DDR 800mhz / Ati1950pro 512mb
same, xbox360 works perfect, while FF on cpu wont even move, and wont use more then 12% cpu
