Yeah I did one at a time. Did it take your fireworks? Never took mine, which I found a bit strange.Originally Posted by Halion

I think the only fireworks it takes are ones you can sell to NPC. For instance I don't think the ones that come free from using summer clothes work. I tried trading Hume Mochi & that didn't work. Basically seems like Non-EX, NPC sellable items work. Good luck!
fastest event ever.
I am glad i didnt have to follow those rats for hours , like in the past years for every other event.
trade macro
/item "popstar" <t>
pushed the macro four times and got all three snowmen.
mage, knight and miner.
Thank you SE for not wasting my time with autofollow and macro spam.
Word of warning, I think these things will eat up rare/ex items if you accidentally trade them (or are screwing around). I was running through East Saruta and spotted Sharp-Eared Ropipi on widescan, killed it and got the rare/ex ribbon drop. I traded it to the mouse hoping for a new year's gift but he basically said gtfo and took the ribbon. Ended up getting the new year gift from a prism powder but yeah, watch out for your rare/ex stuff lol.
You were expecting the NPC to not take what you traded it? Easier to stick with crystals or some other common drop thats worth very little gil.Originally Posted by Ziegus
I did it for shits and giggles. I'm never going to level a job that'd need a +2 chr head piece. Was a nice little test though I guess.
Trade the NPC a kraken and you'll get a Ridill!
It wouldn't take my yago necklaces but still gave me buffs, but no gift. I was basically trading it over and over. Same happened to me when I tried trading a beastmen's seal.
Getting the snowmen is easy. The new years gift is a different story though: I traded about 3 stacks of cookies and a lot of random stuff (i also traded my AF pieces multiple times. The NPC wouldn't give out the gift, but i didn't lose the AF either, so maybe the NPC only keeps Rare/Ex drops that are regular drops and not from missions/quests). I finally got the gift by trading an insect wing and i believe it's totally random when the NPC gives it out.
The furnishing obtained from the new years gift is the same as last years (A picture named "Hoary Spire") and it's Rare/Ex, so everyone who already has one from last year can't get another one.
I'd like a confirmation on only mouse giving taking items and giving out presents.Originally Posted by Zeno McDohl
Confirmed, the rats do and say absolutely nothing when you trade them stuff.Originally Posted by BRP
(heck, they say nothing even if you click them also)
Well Bg-wiki's guide is almost complete... need more information on which potential fireworks can be obtained from the children. Please do contribute if you know or can find out.
Here it is(late as usual):

that came from the whole battledore thing, I don't remember the new years mob train having anything to do with itOriginally Posted by Zak
So if you did the quest for the painting last year you won't need the gift at all?
It works like this: You talk to one of the kid NPCs in one of the starter cities that talk to their grandpa in a linkshell. They want a New Yeras Gift but can't get out of the city to get one. So you have to go out and find the mob train. Now trade stuff to the mob until you get the present. Return the present to the kid and you will get the battledore. Equip the battledore and meet grandpa on the jeuno-windurst airship (last years was jeuno-sandoria). Grandpa now wants 2 black ink and a bast parchment. Give him those and you'll get the picture for your moghouse.Originally Posted by Priran
You will get the New Yers Gift from the mobs and you will also get the Battledore (It's Rare/Ex too, so you will only get it if the one from last year is in storage or if you threw it away). But Grandpa on the airship won't talk about wanting items for the picture from you. He'll just say some random stuff. So no, you won't need the New Years Gift at all if you already have the "Hoary Spire".So if you did the quest for the painting last year you won't need the gift at all?
Just finished this and thought I'd comment that the 4 storage per snowman is awesome!![]()
Is there any reason to keep the battledore after getting painting?? Or just toss it
Give it to the event storage NPC and let it sit there for all eternity.Originally Posted by Ruin
