If the weather is opposite the element, you have a chance of a higher resist rate.
Occasionally even Cure spells heal for less HP in dynamis or apollyon.

It sounds like it is exactly the same as Lullaby. The only thing a Bard can sleep in Apollyon is undead.

I've had 1:30 ES slows(half resist) on HNMs before, but I've never had a resisted one, unless a monster is immune to that effect

by subceptable I mean "is not immune or currently immune through other effects"

Gravity and Sleep are spells that some monsters can build resistance, are are the only thing that bend this rule

I figured I would help you out, heh. ES's Accuracy is pretty much straightforward I believe Vail is right.

Even an ES Silence on Suzaku can be hit or miss.

If you're skill isn't high enough for a nuke, as well as your int, ES won't save your nuke. Thats like saying a LV50 BLM could ES+Tornado Kirin for good damage, lol.

    Re: Repose

He didn't exclude Suzaku. Suzaku is susceptible (I assume that's the word he meant to use) to silence as it can be silenced with some luck, and yet ES doesn't make it 100%. This is somewhat peripheral to the main point in this thread since it sounds like the limbus elementals are simply immune to light-based sleep, but the assertion itself is nevertheless false. I also want to say I've seen an ESed nuke from my 75 blm get a half resist on a mob that had no damage cut to that element nor a particularly high resist rate, but last time I got POIDHed so I guess take that with a grain of salt (although I swear I have).

    Re: Repose

I see you highlighted the fact that I was on SCH but I don't see how this is relevant. At lv 31 as taru with merits my skill and INT are probly equal to BLM of the same lv.

edit: i think i misunderstood xanthes post and maybe he was giving an example for my argument<_< if so there you go, I was excluding suzaku from the argument but after a closer read of Vail's initial statement... Suzaku would be included so it is not correct =)

    Re: Repose

I hate to sound like I'm back tracking but, sky gods are setup in a way that no matter how much skill you get, their ability to resist spells (at some given rate) never changes. Something along the lines similiar to resist traits except it's just a generic "Resist Magic", the 4 sky gods, kirin and DL are the only mobs I can say act like that from personal experience (and I've fought basicly everything.

I do stand sorta corrected, however thinking about it now, there isn't any other monsters that go against what I said.

I think of it like FF6: where if you cap (255) defense you take 1 damage from any attack no matter how much power a enemy has, where the sky gods have that bottomed out as close to immunity as it can get with being immune (like having FF6's 254 defense). Either way, it's why the odds of a mnk/whm landing silence on suzaku is similiar (probably equal to) a 340+ enfeebling rdm's odds.

    Re: Repose

Elementals in SW Apol are simply immune to light-based sleep. A lot of stuff in Apollyon is immune to bard sleep for no good reason.
