how does a part keeping track of who had hate sound?( percentage wise)
It might be useful to not who tanked the most or which tanks keep hate the most in your shells The most common excuse people have for when a person does good damage vs another is that X person tanked and had to cast ichi which lowered thier damage. I think actually being able to prove or disprove that statement when it's used against me would be useful.

    Re: Working Parser?

Things should be getting recorded as far as I know... if melee hits are showing up and being recorded, everything else should be accurate.

I'll take a once over when I have time (yay finals week) to see if there's anything I can find wrong.

Finally got around to xping today..

Parser works fine (version 2.1.2.62 ). As long as your chat filters are set correctly, should be no reason why it isn't picking them up in the program.

    Re: Working Parser?

Would there be any way to watch for additional effect:evasion down and additional effect:defense down and start a separate melee/ranged hit counter after either effects proc, then stop the counter once the mob dies or the mob loses effect?

This maybe just me but was running KParser today at JoL just because I wanted to see some interesting data. All filters off so I could see everything. And the parser worked fine but didnt pull any data from my log and I don't know why. Anyone have any ideas. Unless the memlocs been changed again that I dont know about.

    Re: Working Parser?

Would it be possible for a parser to distinguish between weapon skills/spells?

Basically, as a BLU, i've been trying to nail down what the best setups are for F.Rip / H.Barrage / Disseverment, but it's hard to nail down on a parser, since it just shows up as spell damage. In any merit PT or Imp soloing session, I never stick to JUST one spell. Even if I wanted to test only F.Rip, and solo'd some Imps just using F.Rip, there's no "Average spell damage" or whatever. I guess I could just use F.Rip or whatever spell I wanted, and manually record the results over 50 F.Rips on Imps, but then would have to repeat with other spells, 50+ times. Would it be something simple to add, or a lot of work?

I would guess melee would like a feature like this as well, to test different WS setups / food / song / roll setups, to see what works absolutely best?

The feature is in kparser under the offensive tab.

    Re: Working Parser?

I downloaded Kparser, updated my Windows stuff needed to run it and such, but i'm having a problem:

I went out to solo some Imps and test things, however, the parser is missing A LOT of my spells. For example, over the course of about 5 Imps, I cast F.Rip 2x per fight, and usually 1x Disseverment 1x H.Barrage, 3-5 Headbutts. At first it only recognize F.Rip. Then a few fights later another spell shows up, and a few fight later the third shows up. Except the # of usages of the spell are wrong, and Headbutt hasn't shown up at all. But other things it's catching perfectly, Utsusemi casts, the proper total HP for the Imps (i.e: It says I only use F.Rip x2, but I did enough damage to kill the Imp which has about 55% more HP than 2x F.Rip providers)

Here's an example, from the "Offense" tab, and I have selected "Spells" from the dropdown box:

    Spell Damage
    Player Spell Dmg Spell % #Spells S.Low/Hi S.Avg #MagicBurst MB.Low/Hi MB.Avg
    Shukudai 7335 72.84 % 3 262/5292 2445.00 0 0/0 0.00
    - Frenetic Rip 7073 96.43 % 2 1781/5292 3536.50 0 0/0 0.00
    - Head Butt 262 3.57 % 1 262/262 262.00 0 0/0 0.00

In this instance of running it, I killed 2 Imps, using multiples of the spells listed above, but they don't show up.

Is this a problem with my PC, or the parser? Or is it like "If you swap gear too fast after you SC, you don't see the SC/Damage in your log"?

    I've tried to install Kparser a few times and each time when i go to run it it doesn't work, this is the error I have been getting over and over;

ee the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    Re: Working Parser?

If more than 1 pt is with me kparser tends to lag ffxi to the point that some of my thf macros dont fire leaving me in slow% gear. Do you have any suggestions for getting rid of the lag?
Can you also add in a section specifying food usage? It's helpful tos ee what food everyone you parsed vs was using.

    Re: Working Parser?

Trying to view a parse from last night with DirectParse 2.1.2.62 and it's not showing up when I select the dump.

File -> view saved parse -> click on .dvsd I want -> nothing.

I tried to export it despite there being nothing in the window and it just came up with an empty table. =( Dump views currently broken?

I have the same problem, parsed 2 fights independently, I can see the second dump just fine, but it shows nothing on the first. I was able to see the data fine just before starting the second parse.

I've always had this problem, ever since I started using DVS I have never been able to open old parses.

In my experience, DVS doesn't show the saved parse when you initially try to view it. However, if you just click the drop down box and select "summary", it will load the saved parse and you can view it just fine. I do this all the time, just thought that's how you do it.

Didn't work. =( I emailed my .dvsd to Zhais a few days ago, so hopefully we'll see some news/a fix soon.

so far, all the parses I myself have made have opened up again fine...

releena changed the database save functionality, so I'll do some runthroughs with that, and prolly put out a new release soon with that.

You should be able to convert the old files (.dvsd) that are working with your current version into the new database file format (.dsomething). If old parses aren't able to be opened up, I'm assuming they're lost.

It seems to be something wrong with how it was saving the parses, since when it was trying to be opened it said nothing at all was in them (obviously). Couldn't narrow it down at all tho.

Even when I try that nothing happens, this is how it looks when I click "view saved parse"

edit: just checked to make sure it wasn't because that was an old parse and it didn't work with a parse I did just the other day so definitely the same program version.
