    Just started using Kparser, and I love it so far. Definitely the beefiest parser I've encountered. I am curious though; why does it have a spot for counter misses? To my knowledge it's impossible for counter to "miss" in the sense that it's displayed in the chat log. You simply take damage and never even know your counter chance procced.

    A counter can 'miss' if you counter but a shadow eats the attack.

    On lag issues, there's more speed improvements in the next code branch. Best option for now is to turn off tabs that you don't absolutely need while parsing is active, or set filter limits (eg: set the Offense tab to only show the Summary or Melee segments).

    The number Viena quoted is the current memloc for both directparse and kparse. For directparse, put the following into DVSconf.txt:

    MEMLOC=0x576D58

    Release of version 1.1.0 @ http://code.google.com/p/kparser/

    Notable changes:

    You can now specify the default save directory under Options to place parses in a more convenient location. Also, since the version got bumped to 1.1, the basic default save path ends in 1.1 instead of 1.0 (all older parses should be under 1.0, and are not lost).

    Expanded mob filtering based on changes developed for recent plugins have been spread across all tabs that use them. The ability to exclude 0xp mobs is also now available for all tabs (and working properly).

    Many buffs were not being marked as belonging to appropriate battles, so some details of older parses may not be seen if you specify specific battles or mobs using the new filtering (as opposed to merely selecting "All"). This will be correct in new parses, but you'll need to reparse old parses to get the data placed appropriately.

    I've downloaded the K-Parser and also have the latest .net framework from Microsoft, but every time I try to load up KParser, i get an error message everytime and it just crashes

    Has this happened to anyone?

    edit: Error message details

    "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
    If you click Quit, the application will close immediately."

    and it crashes for me regardless if I hit continue or quit...wierd

    Vista friendly please.

    Shinsei: Um.. that's not good. Can you check the error.log file and see if there's a message in it that matches that? Should say something with "FATAL EXCEPTION" at the top. If so, post it or PM it to me?

    Ah, ok. You have .NET installed but not SQLCE. Check the readme.txt file and install SQLCE 3.5 from Microsoft's site.

    If after installing that it still has problems, copy the System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\Desktop to KParser's program folder.

    hmm did all of the above but I'm still receiving the same error msg ;z

    edit: maybe this will help further

    One of the other error messages I've encountered was when trying to start or load a parse

    Code:
    Error while attempting to initiate parse.
    Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.DataSetExtensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The System cannot find the file specified.
    I have installed the SQL thing from Microsoft shown in the readme.txt and even copied the System file from it to the Kparser prog. folder and still receiving the same error messages.

    The last one was when opening the program, and this one is when tryin to start a parser. I'm so clueless right now ;; Feel naked without a working parser program lol

    I was on win XP and when I used KParser in merit party it started to slow down. Like when I clicked any tab, it took ~2-3 mins to switch the tab for me. Then 10 minutes later, it didnt response to anything and crashed afterward.

    @Shinsei:
    Possible error:
    If you installed a pre-release version of .NET 3.5 (and if that's why you say you have it; ie: you didn't install it recently), it's possible an older version of the System.Data.DataSetExtensions file is installed. Check the file in the [C:\Program Files\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5] directory; it should be version 3.5.21022.8. If it's a variant on 2.0, you need to reinstall .NET 3.5.

    Also, you said the earlier error message (post #453) was when you opened the program, but the error text indicates it occured when you were trying to start a parse. Is there some other error you may be getting when trying to open the program?

    @DancingEdge:
    Either of DirectParse and KParser are more 'modern' than Lil'Devil's version. Which provides the exporting functions you want depends on exactly what you're looking for. DirectParse is a little more advanced in the export aspect at the moment, I think. KParser is more focused on datamining.

    KParser should work fine on Vista as long as you make a couple adjustments (admin privileges, etc; it's in the readme file). I think DirectParse also works fine. I don't have Vista, so can't directly test either one.

    @eva00r:
    First, make sure to have a minimum number of tabs open while parsing, just the ones you specifically want to keep track of. Several of the tabs are very expensive, processing-wise, and shouldn't normally be run during a parse. By default each new plugin is made visible when the program is run (and all are visible the first time the program is installed). The user can close tabs they don't want from the Window menu or using the tabs' context menu.

    Second, in the case that there is a real problem going on, check the error.log file. If something is happening to generate a lot of error messages, it could be slowing the program down and filling up the error file. Even if it's not getting filled up, it may show error messages for things that need to be corrected.

    In either of the above cases, please provide me with the errors being generated (no need to show me a bunch of duplicates, though; just one copy of any given error is fine). Also, any error messages about failures in the tokenizer (can't parse empty message, incorrect value at break point 1, etc) are safe to ignore.

    If the error.log file is getting abnormally large (more than a few hundred K), it's also safe to delete it. I need to get back around to fixing the pruning mechanism to work properly.

    New version release, 1.1.1. http://code.google.com/p/kparser/

    This fixes an issue with the mob filtering in the Thief plugin, and improves the SATA event lookup in it as well.

    This release adds a new plugin for analyzing Extra Attacks (ie: double attacks, triple attacks, kick attacks, multi-attack weapons). Currently experimental, but seems solid when analyzing data from a parse in a controlled setting with little lag. Recommend only using it in post-parse analysis (a large parse can take 20 seconds to process), and in fact it will turn off results if it detects a parse running.

    Note that this heavily depends on attack timestamps. That means the results are pretty much meaningless when analyzing a parse done using log files.

    This release also adds a Damage Per Minute plugin. Likewise experimental, though it appears to be running fine, it provides a means of seeing the rate at which damage is being done over a select set of time intervals (complete fight; the fight from one minute in the past to the present (or end of fight); from 2 minutes ago to 1 minute ago; and the first minute of the fight).

    This plugin will only process data for a single battle at a time, and is designed to be useful while a parse is running. It was developed as a means of aiding anyone attempting to test Belkin's theory on damage rates affecting the fight progression for AV.

    the .NET 3.5 I downloaded is the most recent one, it was just a couple of days ago (3-4 days ago?)
