I got it to work yay! Thank you for pointing me to the readme. Now I have to figure out how to actually use it lol

Back from the dead.
This version update -should- fix the broken parsing of 1.3.9. I did encounter one instance where the location of the RAM chat buffer was completely lost (as in, I couldn't find it even using a tool to examine the RAM directly). A restart of the game and parser fixed it, but I'll try to keep an eye out for peculiarities like that.
If you only have SQLCE 3.5, you'll want to update to 3.5sp1. (See the readme.txt file)
Cleaned up a bunch of code, and implemented some extra tweaks on features. Nothing too major, though, since getting it working again was the most important issue.
The use of /echo to keep notes in the chat window for lines with a KP: or KParser: prefix could be useful.
Modifications as listed from the changelog:
1.4.0 (August 08, 2009)
* Update default memloc to 0x0057DA98.
* Changed SQLCE reference to explicitly use/require SQLCE 3.5/SP1. Check the readme.txt file for where to find the intallation version if you need it.
* Reverted some of the RAM code from the last version since some of the information I thought was there was wrong.
* Modified RAM reading code to better track original raw data to avoid certain types of data corruption for people with, eg, JP locale OSes.
- Fix timestamps reported in the Chat tab.
- Fix timestamps reported in the Unparsed Data tab.
+ Add menu item to close all tabs.
* Clean up handling of tracking tabs.
- Fix bug of not properly tracking certain JA enfeebles.
+ Echo messages that start with "KP:" or "KParser:" (case insensitive) will be saved as chat messages of type 'echo'. They will not be removed if you save a copy of the database without chat information.
* Adjusted window title to show currently open database file. Status text info simplified.
* Revised custom mob selection dialog to use a list box instead of a checked list box. Also shows the number of selected mobs now.
Please let me know if you encounter any major issues.
Also, if anyone is willing to help work on the wiki documentation, let me know.

maybe this is a stupid question but
How does this thing work, I dont mean the code, but what do i need to make it work on my FFXI ^^;
I recently bought a new computer, and I haven't been able to get Kparser to work on it and it's been driving me crazy since I was used to parsing pretty much everything.
I'm able to open the parser fine, but either it simply won't parse anything, or sometimes it would parse like...10 attacks total and that's it. The memloc is updated, but that shouldn't be the problem anyways since sometimes I would be able to get the parser running (for all of 10 attacks, then it would just seem to pause).
I tried installing the things listed in the readme...
SQLCE 3.5 said that I already had a newer version, so it didn't do anything.
.NET 3.5 (SP1) installed fine.
SQLCE 3.5 SP1 x86 (for 32-bit) installed fine.
Here's where the problem might be, I'm not sure.
The computer is running Vista, and honestly I'm not sure whether it's 32- or 64- bit. I'm not much of a computer person. It was 64-bit when I placed the order so I assumed that's what I had, but when I check in the Control Panel > System area, it tells me that it's 32-bit. Anyways, when I try to install SQLCE 3.5 SP1 x64 (for 64-bit systems), I get the message: "This installation package is not supported by your processor type."
If my computer is actually 32-bit, then not installing x64 wouldn't be a problem. If it was 64-bit, then why won't it let me install the x64 version? The only thing I can think of is that maybe my system really is 64-bit, but for some reason it thinks that it's 32-bit, preventing me from installing the x64 version. Could that maybe be the problem? If so, how do I fix it?
Or is something else the problem? Thanks in advance; any help is greatly appreciated.
Edit: Downgrading to 1.3.8 worked; thanks nekura!
Downgrade to 1.3.8.
@kimi - Read the readme.txt file in the installation zip. Follow the instructions there.
@StryfeJ - Were you using 1.3.9 or 1.4.0? If 1.3.9, yes, downgrading to 1.3.8 would work, but it would be preferable to go to 1.4.0. If it was 1.4.0 that wasn't working for you, I'd want to know about it.
Also, a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit OS are two separate things. A 32-bit OS will run fine on a 64-bit processor, but you won't be able to run 64-bit programs (such as SQLCE 3.5 SP1 x64). You can't run a 64-bit OS on a 32-bit processor; a 64-bit OS will always be paired with a 64-bit processor.
It sounds like you ordered a system with a 64-bit processor, but got the default 32-bit OS with it (perfectly normal since there are often driver issues with 64-bit versions of Windows, though less so nowadays; still, they're trying to 'sell' you the 64-bitness of the processor without pointing out that you can't make use of it with the accompanying OS).
Originally I was using 1.3.9...that's when it would either not parse at all, or maybe parse a few attacks and then stop parsing for some unknown reason. Today I tried 1.4.0. and that didn't work either. I didn't try it for very long; I don't think I was able to get the partial parses at all (like I would with 1.3.9). I would just hit "begin default parse" and nothing would happen. After I posted here and was advised to try going back to 1.3.8., I did that and it worked fine.
Oh, and thanks for the clarification with the 32/64-bit stuff.
turn the tabs on. they arent up by default.
Hi guys I'm having a problem with kparser could you tell me what it is
http://i25.tinypic.com/301ooiv.jpg
"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe,
Version=3.5.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89843dnd8030cc91'
or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
Is the error I'm getting with 1.4.0
Have SSCERuntime-ENU-x64 and x84 with dotnetx35setup and am on Windows Vista x64.
So yesterday I got KParser again and I loaded my main account up then KParser, then my second account and dual boxed a merit party. I filtered everything on my second account and the parser come up fine with everything. Today I did the same but I opened main account, second account then the parser and I got everything parsed EXCEPT the damage (which was 2 hours of KJ and RR parsing...), is that because it will parse the last opened FFXI? I assumed it would have parsed the first opened FFXI like FFXIP used to.
I'm not sure, but I always just use the "specify process when starting" option. That way you know it's doing what you want.
@Starr: If you don't specify the process for KParser to use, it will use the first instance of any POL process that it finds in the list that Windows provides. However there's no guarantee about the ordering of that list (relative to process startup or otherwise), therefore if you have multiple POL processes running you won't know which one it's going to parse until after the fact.
So, as Bakthi suggested, select the option to specify the process yourself if you're multi-boxing.
@Thunder: That problem is going to follow me to my grave....
If you would be so kind, please follow the instructions in comment 5 of this issue page: Issue 7 - kparser - SQLCE dll not found when starting parse - Project Hosting on Google Code
And send me any details you get (PM is fine, or append to the issue if you have a google account).
@StryfeJ: Can you check the error.log file and see if you're getting the same error as Thunder? (cannot load SQLCE dll)
OK I downloaded the Parser from the first page, directparse 2.2.92, followed the readme and installed .net framework from the given link
launched the game launched the parser started parsing but nothing
The Memloc stated here looks complete diffrent (how its written I mean) than in this parser, I am kinda slow when it comes to those kind of coding things
in the DvsConf MEMLOC=0x575968
I gonna try the other one too, btw not using windower but windowed mode if that info is needed
