    Ok, I'll try tracking that down later tonight, if I get the test server installed. Alternatively, if you can turn on Debug Mode in the Options dialog and try starting/stopping a parse, then check the error log (via the About window) for a memory dump and send that to me, I can examine that too.

    Well, I tried to copy paste the error log, but just the stuff dating from today was 6,526,162 characters long. Can't post. <,<;;

    Edit: PM'd you a link to error file.

    Uploaded a slightly modified version as 1.7 alpha test server. Try using that. (may take a bit to finish uploading, and I'm heading out, so just have to hope it finishes; will check back later) You can delete everything in your current error log first.

    Also found an interesting notice: http://google-opensource.blogspot.co...d-service.html

    May have to make further changes to how the files get hosted now.

    Well, still nothing on Kparser site. Did the upload fail? Anyway, sleep now.

    Sorry, I've tried several times, but it just won't upload. I'll probably have to move everything to Google Drive.

    Here's a link to the .zip on Google Drive: kparser test server test

    Well, since I'm still up. <,<

    Tried it on test server. Seems to work fine now.

    I dunno if you need the error log from this time around, but I'll trow it in here anyway.

    Oh, and there's a packet parsing parsing option in the options. Is that fully functional atm? .... errr, I guess not, seeing as trying it crashed kparser. <,<

    If you do decide to parse packets, send me a message and I'll let you know about the weird things I've found in terms of how SE represents different JAs/etc. Most of it is up here:

    I would cry tears of joy, if a shield block section was made. block, non block, total hits. Then avg dmg for block and non block. Massive bonus points for tracking reprisal and palisade.

    It'd save me sooooo much time when ever i test something. And then if i was just testing block rate, I could use pahlanx and even SS, and just pull like 10~ mobs, as long as they're the same level. <,<

    I'm fairly sure it is, and that this is what XI-Util's translation plug-in, Babylon, uses. It also picks up /yells, so anyone who is waiting for this functionality in KParser can get it via XI-Util in the meantime.

    A while back, I made a small hook program to allow kparser to be used on a remote machine, but it has fallen into dis-use since the (most excellent) battlemod addon changes the chat output. I was thinking of modifying my hook to grab the game-generated chatlog data before windower gets it (and deletes it), but then I noticed that windower4 has a sort of 'parser output' TCP port. Rather than go through that effort, I had a question about this new windower4 capability:
    Do you send only action packets on the port? Last time I tried it, I didn't see any chat packets. I would have thought you'd just re-transmit all incoming packets. I couldn't figure out how to set any options for stream output either.

    On the other hand, it seems like Motenten is lacking free time to do the extensive re-write that will be needed for packet parsing, so maybe it would be possible to transmit unmodified chat lines (after decoding auto-translate and adding the line codes) from windower4, rather than action packets? It seems he already has most of the code in kparser to pick up chat lines with ZMQ.

    By the way, thank you very much for making so much documentation public on the dev wiki!

    Are you sure that isn't IPC? At one point we did have a port sending action messages for Motenten to write a packet based parser, but I thought it was cut out when he got busy (with plans to add it back if he got interested again). The ZMQ code was meant to pickup the action packet, not chat lines. I'm not familiar with his code, but if it looks commented to pickup chat lines, he possibly was just preparing for each chat line he categorizes and planned on mapping the packets to the corresponding chat lines?

    I checked within 1 week or so of the w4 beta release, so it's probably the removed code. He didn't get far into his ZMQ effort, since it was just treating the packet stream as another 'data source' for chat log lines. I'm going to try modifying my program to tap into windower's incoming chat hook, so I'll leave out the autotranslate decoding.
    One thing before I start that, though -- I saw somewhere that luacore is soon going to be based on lua 5.1 instead of 5.2. Maybe in the process of changing it, it would be possible to add support for the lua 'c' api? It seems that, at least when building the standard lua dll, it's mostly a matter of setting some symbols to be exported from the dll. The current luacore version does not export anything besides the standard windower plugin symbols. (i filed an 'idea' about this on the bug tracker). This would allow me to just use winsock and event_incoming_text in an addon, rather than mucking about with a debugger!

    You can already load C modules with LuaCore in the currently public version and it has always been possible. However, we will not accept C addons into our repository, as it would require us to either check in binary code, which we won't do, or recompile it ourselves when it updates, which we're too lazy to do.

    There are plans to include LuaSocket in a future LuaCore release though, if that helps. It had compatibility issues with Lua 5.2, but since we're now on 5.1, we should be able to include it once we're done messing about with some other stuff.

    Thanks for verifying that c is a possibilty, at least for private addons. On the initial w4 release I was able to get a c module to load, but I couldn't figure out how to register c functions, since lua_pushcfunction and lua_setglobal did not appear to be in luacore.dll's export address table. I'll have to give it another try soon.

    Kparser doesn't seem to be working. It finds FFXI, but doesn't record anything. ; ;

    New memloc is 0x005C4278. The signature changed, so the current version of KParser can't find it on its own anymore. I'm doing a bit of fiddling on updating that, and will get an updated version pushed out.

    Thank you very much! Scoreboard is nice, but it really lacks some of kparser's better features. Like saving the data so I can go through it later. <,<;;

    btw, did the idea of a packet based kparser fizzle out?

    Hmmm. It's not working even after changing the memloc.

    Is 1.6.6.0 the current version?

    If you're using Windower, disable any plugins/addons that modify the chat log, such as timestamp, battlemod, and I think somebody said highlight (or whatever it's called) also caused problems.
