Dynamis - Xarcabard; Help me out!

To those of you who replied to my Dynamis Beaucedine thread a few weeks back, thank you. We've done it 2 more times since then and gotten 90% of the LS wins (though just barely) so now we're heading up to Xarcabard. In 5 hours to be exact, so if anyone can respond quickly that'd be great. :D

Now, maybe 2 people in the linkshell have done Xarc. before, myself not included.

From what I understand, from videos and guides I have found, targeting order is Eyes > Demons > Pets.

What I need is, like, guidelines for the noob LS trying Xarc. We're not going to try DL, just farm the NMs. Also what is good to farm after the NMs/where?

Another thing is we're going to have a max of 24 people. I expect more like 20 however.

So yeah, I just need some advice from you Veteran Xarc'ers. I'm leading pretty much blindly, but would like to make it further than just wiping on the first pull.

Thanks BG, off to search the interwebz for more info. :D

Check out these strat pages quick-like:

    DynamisBums Direct Strat Link
DynamisBums Forums Strat Link - this is a better, more in-depth study of the zone IMO. Also, the maps in this thread are the best you will find ANYWHERE.

FraggleForce Farming Strat Link & Map - This is the one my linkshell has developed but I think some of the info there might be out-of-date. It also doesn't include information on the actual Dynamis Lord fight (I'll have to make a posting of it). If you only have 24 people on the run, unless they're geared like champs I'd say pass on fighting DL. In any case since this is your group's first run at this zone just take it easy and do a farming run - try out the Demon NMs, get a feel for the mobs and the various pulls.. have fun with it!

I'd give links to our forums so you can read up on the discussion there but you'd need to register because we don't have a guest account yet.

Yeah -- kill the eyes first, but in general, Xarcabard is extremely different than all the other dynamis zones. Chances are you simply don't want to do any "normal" pulls until after you've killed all the NMs. They have about a 10x improved drop rate for AF2 compared to regulars and slaying them all spawns the extra extensions and DL. The NMs are usually done with sacrifice pulls. The shell will split out the NMs they can handle at one time (usually 2-3 -- one for killing, the others kited or duo nin+healer).

There's a fair amount of running around along safe paths from camp to camp, too. The reason you don't want to just pull away in Xarca is all the pulls are just enormous. Heh. You'll see. Have fun!

Re: Dynamis - Xarcabard; Help me out!

Always do eye>demon, even though eyes can be kited easilly they can rape you fast.

1- kill the first extension ( rdm chain nuke or ranger barrage or sam etc). You dont need to kill any eye or demon guardian, just kill the stone and die at safe spot to be raised.(+30)

2- Move behind the Teleport-Vahzl stage. Camp here for a few. Pull the 3 eyes that are north, 1 at a time ( from west to east). They won't link. Kill the stone when it pops (+30).

3- The are 4 eyes in the open area between Teleport-Vahzl stage and the Outpost stage. Pull them one at a time, then *won't* link with each other if you pull them counter clowkwise. Each eye pops 4 or 5 demons, with SMNs and BSTs so those aren't small pulls. We ALWAYS get an AF2 off those lol ;p, well most of the time >.>

4- Pull the eyes at Outpost stage (6 or 8 eyes total, I forgot). Kill one at a time and kite others with thf nin rdm etc. Only the 2 initial eyes need to be killed to pop the time extender, so you can also sac pull that part. (+30)

4- Start to kill the 15 demon NMs... 2 methods here. Either pull everything and have people kite, or , what I find easier, sac pull each NM one at a time. This saves time for my ls and we now go through the NM part very fast. With the kiting method there was always a few peoples that died, so I decided that only one person would die through a sac pull.

4- Once the 15 NM have been killed, a time extender pops on the wall between Wall of Eyes and DRG-SAM-RNG Nms stage. (+30)

4- Wall of eyes. Different strategies here. You can just skip it and farm, or try to get the Time extender. The time extender pops on the other side of the wall once a certain number of eyes have been killed ( 4/6 works). What I do is camp NE of the Wall of Eyes, THF aggro the S most eye and train everything near The BLM-NIN-DRK NM stage ( without use of flee), while people grab 3 eyes from the train. The train will then come back slowly at their initial positions. There is always a group of slow demons at the back of the train that go back slower than the other. Have the THF (that saced and reraised) use flee this time and bring them to camp. Take care not to bring everything... This way you should have 5-6 demons at camp.

    4. Doing this you will only require 2-3 sacs to clear the wall of eyes. You can also just kill the 4 eyes+ TE then move on... (+30)

4- Farming. There should be about 1-2 hours left ( usually 1:30 for us). There are a few spots where u can pull stuff without mass linking 50 demons. There are 4 eyes near the BLM-NIN-DRK stage ( relic shield camp): pull those, only 2 eyes and 6 demon each pull.

6-you can also stay near Wall of Eyes camp and pull the eyes that are NE of camp. Thats a 3 eyes 6 demon pull. Sounds easy but it's always going bad for us (there is a BST there...) so I usually do a sac pull to pull only one half at the time.

7- Do the same for the group of eyes that's East from here ( easy pull).

8- Pull the eyes that are at the top of the ramp leading to Ulegerand range. It's a consequent pull ( 10+) so you might want to split them with sac pulls.. An interesting method I found out here is to camp where the Wall of eyes is, thf pull those eyes and flee to camp. Demons will reach camp long before the eyes, so once a few demons are at camp try to get killed by them. This way only 4-5 demons will be pulled at a time.

9- Once you have cleared them move up. On this level there are 4 of easy pulls near each relic weapon Nms.

Dunno any other good spots to pull without big links...but that is usually when we time out. This method works every well for our low numbers ls ( we have done it with 19 and it was very smooth).

Re: Dynamis - Xarcabard; Help me out!

I lead a rather inexperienced dynamis shell, we're constantly turning over people to endgame shells that have their own dynamis, and constantly getting new people in. As such, I've needed to work out how to pull the right mobs and figure out which mobs are needed and which are unecessary. We have an easy enough time getting to the wall of eyes with plenty of time in xarc, but at that point our time is quickly eatten up. When we decide to farm, the pullers have serious problems coordination so that they don't bring the whole lot, and when we single out eyes, we lose a lot of farming.

So far i've figured out that the northernmost eye is definitely a trigger for the time mob. The next eye however, is not.

My question is, which eyes are, and which aren't triggers for the time mob? Has anyone tested and figured out which are and aren't?

Re: Dynamis - Xarcabard; Help me out!

in my experience for demon wall, the stone always poped and only when we killed the total of five eyes. The best strategy is that, go to demon wall before kill all NMs. And getting 2thf that one thf aggro at least half of the eyes and runs towards DL. While another aggro at least 2 eyes + 2 set of mobs and bring them back to the group and killed. And the mean time, he will need to run back to make sure he does not has any aggroed from the mobs followed the first thf.

Althought in theoretically this way seem to be workable, but usually we end up the thf will 100% get aggro from part of the mobs that chasing the first thf lol

If count from left to right by number 1 to 6, the stone usually pop right after we killed the eyes 1,2,3,4 and 6.

2thf pull on eye wall is easy, just coordinate pull time with game clock, usually splits it right down the middle.

Re: Dynamis - Xarcabard; Help me out!

I see some interesting and dangerous strats here... I didn't read all the posts but specifically this popped out:

2- Move behind the Teleport-Vahzl stage. Camp here for a few. Pull the 3 eyes that are north, 1 at a time ( from west to east). They won't link. Kill the stone when it pops (+30).
The area you have to move back here with a full group of people is too small for a new group to successfully pass without aggroing. Not to mention you have less room back here, I don't see why anyone would want to make the first 4 pulls (the ones out in the open) harder for themselves.

As for the second time extension (the 8 eyes), if you have 5-6 BLMs (5 might need Diabolos or a COR to buff their damage), you can time nuke the eyes out, as long as someone pops them just as they all start casting. The 8 eyes should all die simultaneously if done right, or have 1-5% left, in which case the BLMs can just run around while melees and RDMs pick them off.

As for the NM sets, we usually have 5 BLMs -aga III at a specified time (this one is more crucial to time correctly), and a RDM is assigned to each eye in case the -agas don't kill any. The NMs pop without hate on anyone, and lets your tanks or whoever get hate comfortably without the bother of the eyes getting in the way.

If you're referring to the 6 eye wall, with 2 demons each, the pull contains 3 BLM, 3 WHM, 2 DRG, 2 PLD, 2 DRK if I recall correctly. We've figured it out before, but I believe it was the 2 innermost eyes that triggered the time extension (#3 and #4 no matter which way you go). It's either that or the 4 innermost eyes, but the 2 outside eyes definately are not included. They are, however, usually the first killed.
