    New Macros Trick

At the risk of being flaming for making a stupid/obvious post, I just thought of something which I've successfully implemented and found to be rather useful. It's an easy way of elongating the amount of macro lines available to you if you play on PS2 or Xbox (or don't use windower).

The new command functions like this: /macro set <number of set goes here>

You can use that to give you essentially 10 macro lines if you're alright with hitting it twice. Basically make the macro like this, starting on macro set 1:

    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /macro set 2

Then in the exact same position on set 2 make this macro

    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /equip ...
    /macro set 1

If you hit it once, wait a moment and hit it again, it's pretty similar to having 10 lines available to you, it just requires 2 quick keystrokes. Much easier than having to manually move left and right over the macro lists.

    Re: New Macros Trick

They really just need to give me 20 lines per fucking macro.

Goddamn. Or let me link to a specific macro. I LOVE having three buttons just for my resting gear.^^

    Re: New Macros Trick

    Another few macro tricks:

    2 Hour Macro Protection

    Some position on set 1:
/echo Execute macro again if you wish to 2 hour
    /set 2

    Same position on set 2:
    /ja 2 hour
    /set 1

    Better Seigan Macro

If you work Third Eye into the Seigan macro you run the risk of accidentally using Third Eye if Seigan doesn't fire, thus wasting it. This macro will prevent that.

    Some position on set 1:
    /ja "Seigan" <me>
    /set 2

    Same position on set 2:
    /ja "Third Eye" <me>
    /set 1

    Re: New Macros Trick

You can even have a macro which equips your gear then lets you choose which WS to use. Simply designate a set (for this example I will use 2) of weapon skills and on your main set write this:

/echo <some sort of legend on which number corresponds to which WS if you're using keyboard macros>
    /set 2

That'll then bring you to the set where you have all of your weapon skills macroed. You can even set them up so that you swap gear before and after in the thread.

    Re: New Macros Trick

this would be cool enough to say oh well the screw extra lines if not for the fact that your gearsswaps will mess up and miss peices(....sp?) if you hit more then one macro too fast, which is needed for some jobs...and some places/fights..
edit: i mean pressing one too fast before the other(s) have finished loading to make myself clear(er)

To each their own really. But considering Windower isn't even an option to 2/3 platforms the game exists on...

    Re: New Macros Trick

    Summoner.

    Book 1, Set 1
    Alt 1-0 Summon macros.
    Alt1
    /ma "Garuda" <me>
    /macro set 1
    /macro book 2

    Book 2, Set 1
    Alt1
    /assault <stnpc>
    /bp "Predator Claws" <stnpc>

Alt2-0, The other most used BPs, with one of them for Release.

    Release
    /pet "Release" <me>
    /macro set 1
    /macro book 1

Ctrl would have your Cures, Protects, and whatnot, the usual stuff you do in a party/soloing, and EACH OF THE BP PAGES could have the same Ctrl layout, giving that full functionality while using all of your BP's as needed at will.

The effect is, you Summon from the home macro set, get sent to that avatars BP set (with the most used BP on the same Alt as the summon Alt, say Alt 4 for Titan puts you at Alt 4 Earthen Ward) and you can still Ctrl for your cures, but now you can pick and choose your BPs on the fly with much less muddling with macros or digging through the menu.

Hit release, and the avvy goes away, and you wind up back on the main Avvy home Set.

I'm considering a WS macro setup.

I dont use many in my first set for anthing but war, so..

    Set 3, War/Sam Macros
    Alt 3 WS
    /equip
    /equip
    /equip
    /equip
    /equip
    /macro set 6

Set 6, Generic old Drg stuff leveling that sub, mostly unused.
    Alt 3 Ws2
    /equip
    /equip

then Ctrl 4-8 or whatever would be WS macros Id most use

    Alt 4 Tp2
    /equip
    /equip
    /macro set 3

    Set 3 Alt 4 Tp
    /equip
    /equip
    /equip
    /equip
    /equip

Just toying around with it, currently at 6 swaps, but once I get Heca body I'll have 7, 8 with Gorget (when I get that damn Yovra) so this stuff will be very nice.

It also works great for PS2, even in whitegate.

    Re: New Macros Trick

I'm using this feature to make "double-tap" equipment swaps

    ==set1 some slot
    /equip head
    /equip neck
    /equip body
    /equip hands
    /equip legs
    /macro set 2

    ==set2 same slot
    /equip feet
    /equip back
    /equip waist
    /equip ear1
    /equip ear2
    /macro set 1

missing main/sub/range/ammo/ring1/ring2 but for all my setups I dont change those between tp/ws

If needed could be adjusted into a "Tripple-tap" to cover all the slots and maybe add some text

Umm... since before the update, I just used subtarget to have the same effect.

The first one action is regular, the second action is on a subtarget, so it just needs a click-thru on anything. eg:

/echo THIS IS UR FUGGIN 2HR, CLICK TO ACTIVATE
    /ta <st>
    /ja [2hr name] <me or t>

for seigan/3rd eye, my macro is:

    /recast Seigan
    /ja Seigan <me>
    /wait 1
    /recast "Third eye"
/ja "Third Eye" <stpc> *and i select myself for the click-through

the recasts are handy to know if its ready or not.

I like the method the OP suggested for the 6+ line usage tho. Thats gonna help alot, especially with equips. So far have been very limited on PS2 with 5 lines of equip and 1 for JA in a macro... up till this point, earrings and accessories weren't swapped for my ws macros. This macro-book this is just fantastic, I had run out of macro space like 5-6 75-jobs ago

    Re: New Macros Trick

/echo YOU'RE ABOUT TO HIT YOUR 2HR MACRO YOU DUMB SHIT!!/1ONE!!2!
    /ja "Two Hour" <stpc>

I've never had this misfire for me on PS2.

    /ja "Seigan" <me>
    /wait 1
    /ja "Third Eye" <me>
    /wait 15
    /wait 15
    /ja "Third Eye" <me>

    /recast "Third Eye"
    /ja "Third Eye" <me>
    /wait 15
    /wait 15
    /ja "Third Eye" <me>

Maybe it's just a PS2 thing, but even in Besieged lag it works, only time I've had errors is stuff like Despot with 3 pops slept, full Ally, and another Ally or two next too/on top of us, and I hit the macro twice on accident and the waits get a little offset.

    Re: New Macros Trick

Note: reason for the /ta <st> as opposed to the the <stpc> on same line as the JA, is that <stpc> can sometimes start off on the pc you have currently selected... so if your a mage who usually has other party members selected, it can give an error when you click thru on them. Where as /ta <st> just gives a you the 2nd click-thru option, and has no effect on the next line (desired effect).
