Wings of the Goddess Expansion Shipping Delayed

We regret to inform our players that due to issues during manufacturing, the shipment of the FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion disc for Windows version has been delayed to Nov. 21, 2007 everywhere but in Japan.

Please note that availability in Japan will still be plentiful, while most other users will have difficulty finding a copy for quite some time.

We thank you for your cooperation in letting Japanese players have a head start again, and for your understanding in this matter. We are very sorry we couldn't think of a more subtle way to slight you all, but all of our resources are currently invested in reducing available magic for Scholars.

I called my local store today and they said they were supposed to get it today in their shipment, but it wasn't there. It should be in tomorrow, although I'm going to go ahead and guess it may not be there then either.

Either way, SE's blowing smoke up everyone's asses. Way to hype an expansion and not deliver. XD

Seriously. Manufacturing issues? You would know well in advance if manufacturing problems would cause your product not to ship, and if it were a matter of defective merchandise then it wouldn't be delayed 1 day. If it was that serious of a problem they should and would have notified us sooner.

this might be their excuse to delay the date to turn WoTG online. That's my guess since they created so many issues with the last update.

Amazon.co.uk and Play.com are shipping already, they guarantee you will get it as early as the 22.

GAME and Gamestation (UK retailers) say they won't have it until Friday (Games in the UK are usually released on fridays).

Where did you order yours from? I am also in Seattle. I pre-ordered mine from the EB Games in Pacific Place (downtown Seattle), as I work 2 blocks from there. I just called and they said they will have it in tomorrow (wednsday) for me to pick up.

They feigned ignorance on any type of delay.

I was also told it'd be in tomorrow before noon. So once they activate the expansion on Thanksgiving, I'll be ready to price gouge.

Just got off the line with my friends who work at Gamestop. WotG is already due to arrive tomorrow morning and can be picked up in the afternoon. I've heard of some locations already having their copies and some who get them in tomorrow. Possibly a regional thing where some won't get it until later due to this screw-up? So much for "simultaneous release" if so...

They might try and BS ya that they cant sell it to the 23 but just threaten em and say the release date is the 22nd and if they dont feel like selling it to ya ON ITS PROPER LAUNCH DATE then youll just take your buisness to someone else who is willing to sell it. GAME person said they cant sell it on the 22nd cos games are launched the 23rd but Gamestop says they could have it in stock by wednesdat. Waiting to see when i can get it but i aint gonna be BS'd on this...

Are any of you that are getting it tomorrow (Wednesday 11-21) talking about the PC version? Because the delay specifically mentions the Windows version, so it's natural that the PS2 and XBox ones are on schedule.

Microplay here in guelph ontario currently has 15 copies in store that are being put on shelf tomorrow they were picked up in person from the distributer today.

Every single Gamestop in my region is telling me that they won't get it till Friday, yet somehow the EB games not too far away from where I live says they'll get it tomorrow, without a doubt. EB games and Gamestop are the same company no?

I hate being confused/frustrated/anxious all at once.
