Anyway, why don't you pick up the PS2 or Xbox version, use that code to register, and then download the game? Or does PS2/Xbox/PC have the same "platform only" restriction on registration code as EU/JP/NA version have between each other?

dvdboxoffice.com still says 21st, so I'll be hoping <.<;

PS2, PC, and Xbox360 reg codes are interchangeable. Cause I have base FFXI code for PC, used my PS2 code for CoP since they got it first on PS2, and Xbox 360 code on for ToAU. As long as they are from the same region it doesn't matter what platform code you use.

Say if you play on 360 and PC for example, you could just use the code from 360 version and download a ISO and play on PC if people have ISOs out by tommorw that is.

I too am curious if you can download an image and just use the code from PS2/360 version. Assume if that were the case that someone would have said as such.

I pre-ordered from Amazon.com and paid $46.50 for overnight shipping to get 3 copies tomorrow. Before the announcement, I saw on the game page that the availability date was moved back to the 23rd, even though my order still reads est. delivery tomorrow. Figured it was an Amazon thing and had my boyfriend call them up and bitch/moan. Apparently they didn't know the reason behind the delay either, and took responsibility for it, saying that if we don't get it tomorrow they'll completely refund shipping and it should be here by Saturday latest and if we're able to obtain copies elsewhere, we can just cancel entirely.

Just finished hitting up all the game stores in the area. Most said they weren't getting them in. One said they were but all the copies were
reserved. Last ditch effort yielded an EBGames that "guarantees" that it'll be in tomorrow and if we drive out tonight to put it on reserve that we'll be able to get it. Really hope they're right, it's about 30 miles away. :/ Don't know if it matters or not, but this is around the St. Louis area.

That aside, any europeans heard any definite news on shipment of copies from any webshops yet? Amazon.co.uk are still guesstimating at when they'll get it, play.com and norwegian customs don't get along very well. The store where I preordered who had a definite date for the 22nd when I preordered are telling me that "Huh? oh that thing? who the hell knows...". So I'm looking for alternatives, preferably that I can bribe into shipping it with something like fedex or equivalent. any tips?

Every GameCrazy around Bellevue/Eastside (WA) has the 360 version in and on the shelves. No PC or PS2.

I pre-ordered from the Gamestop in Bellevue Square and they're still telling me they'll get it in tomorrow, the one at Crossroads says the same thing. However the one in Issaquah says Friday. So no idea what's going on, if Gamestop doesn't get it in tomorrow I'll just have to settle for the 360 until my PC one gets here :'(.

Yup, i got the same call and i'm in the Twin Cities. the Midwest is getting their copies right on time. (PS2 FTW!)

I just called over 10 stores in chicago, half said they will get the PC half said they wont

Not sure if tomorrow ill get the fuck you from the half that said they will though. However PS2 and 360 there tomorrow so if it doesnt i guess i buy an extra PS2 copy and sell the CD key.

edit: This raises a question will the ISO be hosted for this expansion tomorrow?

Fry's: Said they had the 360 version on the shelves currently in Arlington. Evidently the assclown wanted to have me drive the extra 45 minutes tonight....because he was evidently under the impression that the original FFXI in the white case was Wings of the Goddess.

Gamestop #1: No problem. You're preorder will be here without a problem. Give us a call around 1pm when the shipment gets in...

Gamestop #2: What was that title again?

Gamestop #3: Nope. Friday. Maybe.

Gamestop #4: Yeah, we've got FFXI for the 360. Oh, the expansion? There's an expansion coming out?

What I take from all this? The retailers don't even know what's coming in, and they definitely don't trust their own systems...
