    Video Card and PSU

I recently got a 400w PSU and a Geforce 8600 GTS. The PSU has a pci-e plug but whenever i hook it all up the computer won't start. Do i need a higher watt PSU for my vid card?

8600 only needs 350w PSU but it also depends on what else you have hooked up... do you have multiple hard drives or DVD drives, ect? Anything else that would be sucking up the normal amount of juice? Also after a google search it appears you need the 4pin connector cable to hook the PSU to the card to provide power.. do you have that hooked up correctly?

did you connect the 20/24 pin mobo plug and the additional 4/8 pin plug that also goes on the motherboard in the addition to the 6pin PCI-e plug?
