It no longer needs questioning. The claim was once met with much skepticism, but was finally proven and the scientific community had finally come to a consensus on the matter. Did you question your third grade math teacher when they said 2 x 2 = 4 or that Pluto existed? Did you request to see proofs of number theory, or star charts and gravitational and orbital calculations?

Don't get me wrong, it's always good to think for yourself and to question things. But in matters like 2 x 2 = 4, the existence of Pluto, or elemental staves boosting your damage and magic accuracy by 15% equally, there's just no point in questioning. The independent critical thinker will accept the claim, not dispute it.
Except it hasn't. So far nobody yet has been able to show me a single test that indicated a 15% increase in magic accuracy for elemental staffs. Also, if someone told you Pluto existed, yet couldn't show you any calculations, a picture or anything about it at all, would you believe it existed?
You mean, you haven't seen those tests. It was tested and shown, by NA or JP I don't know and doesn't really matter, but it never would have been accepted as a common truth that nobody even bothered to keep the tests proving it if it were a debatable matter. If you think that's not the case, then why don't we think weaponskills can be paralyzed or that warcry reduces accuracy or that provoke raises enmity and lowers -enmity? Anybody can spout off random things as fact (I do it all the time!), but to become so ingrained in our minds and commonly accepted to the point of burning disbelievers at the stake (or banishing them back to zam), there had to have been some comprehensive and exhaustive testing done at some point in time to convince the community that it was true.

Of course, you also have the anecdotal evidence, if nothing else. So you'll have to do some digging to find the historical test proving it, but if you're too lazy to search for it (nobody is going to do it for you) then you should have at least been able to tell as much just from playing a mage job for any length of time.

BeowulfFFXI, either test it yourself or STFU. This argument is pointless, no amount of anecdotal evidence is going to convince you, and most other people are happy with the commonly accepted theory.

Comon, you're saying you are a rdm and you don't think the correct elemental staff increases magic acc of nukes? This has got to be a joke.

I'm glad you are so outspoken trying to find the truth. Get off your lazy trolling ass and do the tests yourself.

    Read what he said again.

It's true for Slow and Slow II at least. Terra's has no effect on the amount slowed, it only affects the accuracy (Slow II is the easiest Enfeeble to measure potency for, as the effect can both accurately and directly be measured.) I've done the tests, just happen to be at work at the moment so nothing to post.

Uhh... I guess people here need some reading comprehension courses.

I'm going to put in very simple sentences, so as not to confuse you guys, I know that looks like its a problem:

    I agree they add accuracy

I want to see proof that its +15% magic accuracy
    ----------------

Those are two very simple sentences, please don't screw this one up guys!

And the answer is, proper staves give way more accuracy than +10 skill.

If you don't think so, go prove us wrong.
